8. Meeting The Enemy

Ivy's POV. As the sun set, I had risen from my chambers for breakfast. I was waiting for the announcement of my parents' arrival. It was way past the scheduled time that they should have arrived. I thought I would give it a few more minutes, hoping that they wouldn’t be too far. I just had to be patient. All of a sudden, a group of guards as well as knights rushed past me, which caused the blood from my face to drain. The only thing I could think of was my parents. Blake came around the corner and was shouting orders to the men. "Blake, what is going on?" I asked, panic clear in my tone. "I'm sorry Ivy. I just got word that your parents had been attacked as they entered our lands." He answered with concern. "Some guards patrolling heard the commotion and one of them just informed us. We are going to make sure we aren't too late." He added as he placed it on my forehead. "What can I do to help?" I asked as I thought about the worst thing that could possibly happen to my parents. "Nothing," he answered, "You stay here and be safe. Let the men and I handle it." He added sternly before taking off. It was only a few minutes before they had left and I couldn't help but disobey the prince's orders. I may be a lady, but as the only child of a well-known Lord, my father had me trained to fight. It wasn’t just because I was his firstborn, but also to be able to defend myself. Before I knew it, I was running through the dark using my vampire speed as I used my hearing to hear any noise of fighting. Then I heard it, a loud howl that caused a shiver to go down my spine. I followed where I had heard the howl come from and soon smelt fresh blood coming from every direction as I came to a clearing. I saw wolves everywhere, they were attacking vampires. I scanned the area and saw the prince fighting two wolves at once, then I scanned again and saw two carriages that were tipped over. One of the carriages was the one my parents always rode in when leaving Midnight Keep. I looked around, making sure that no one could see me before I ran over to the carriage. I smelt blood coming from the carriage and panicked as I prepared for the worst. I ripped open the carriage door with my strength and as I did I saw both my parents passed out. "Mother! Father!" I yelled as I got on my hands and knees and shook them both to wake up. "What?..." My father said weakly as he began to stir. "Father, wake up! You got attacked by wolves." I said, trying to keep it short. "We have to go now! The prince and his people are fighting them off," I added. "Honey, come on!" My father said as he helped pick up my mother. I quickly moved over to help support her on the other side when, all of a sudden, I was grabbed from behind. I let out a panicked scream once I realised that I was being dragged by a naked man. "Ivy!" My father yelled as he struggled to protect me from my attacker as he held my injured mother. My father injured himself and still tried with whatever strength he had left to help me. It was, however, no use. I knew my father would need blood to regain his strength. My father looked at me with panic in his eyes and no doubt I had the same look. I watched him struggle to come after me and my attacker as I got dragged into the forest that was nearby. The naked man then shifted into a wolf right before my eyes. This was the first time I had seen a werewolf and the first time I saw them shift. I only ever heard stories of them shifting. Although those stories never mentioned them being naked, I don’t understand why they are fully naked. His manhood was just hanging out there, which only made me so uncomfortable. If this was a different situation and we weren't enemies of these creatures, I would probably ask why they are naked. The stopping of the bones that were cracking took me out of my thoughts as I saw a huge dark brown wolf staring at me with a murderous expression. Then he lifted his head and he let out a howl before looking at me again with the same expression. I heard a lot of footsteps running behind me and as I turned my head I saw all the wolves running past the brown wolf that stood in front of me. The wolf then grabbed my dress with his teeth as he dragged me while following the group of wolves. "Ivy!" I heard the prince called. But before I could yell back, my head hit a rock and I was sucked into the darkness. . . . . "Are you sure, Alpha?" I heard a gruff voice say as I slowly gained consciousness. "Do you think I am stupid!" Another male's voice boomed, it sounded powerful. "I can smell the scent... and it's her!" "Okay, calm down everyone, just take a step back and calm down. " A third male said. I groaned as I slowly sat up and instinctively placed my hand on my head where it hurt. My loud groan must have silenced the three males I heard before because it became silent. Slowly, I adjusted my eyes as the blur disappeared and my vision became clear. I saw three huge men standing in front of me. Well, more like on the other side of what looked to be poles that belonged to a cell. As I found a little of my balance from sitting up, I tried to stand up using the poles as support, but to my dismay, I let out a painful scream instead. Once I fell back down to my knees, I looked at my hands and saw my skin had burned a little. "Yeah, you may not want to touch the bars as they are laced with vervain." Said the first voice I heard speaking. I looked up through the space of the bars and saw three male figures come into view. Straight away I saw the man that had captured me and dragged me with his other pack members, only he had clothes on now. Then I looked to his far right and I saw a man giving me a friendly smile. Then the man that stood in the middle of the two was bigger than any man I had ever seen. I looked at him from head to toe as I took in every single detail. He was very well built and by far the most handsome man I had ever laid my eyes on. I thought the prince was handsome but this creature in front of me was built like a god. "The two of you leave." The man in the middle said in a gruff tone as he stared at me with his arms crossed. "Are you sure you want to …." the man who captured me got cut off. "I said leave!" The man in the middle ordered this time but never took his eyes off me. The two men that stood on either side of him just moments ago were now gone. I watched them leave as they did. Meanwhile, the huge man that ordered them stood on his spot. I noticed he never took his eyes off of me and his facial expression was blank. Besides, when he had ordered the two men to leave, he seemed angry that the other one didn’t want to leave. "Who are you? Where am I? Do you know who I am?!" I questioned one after the other. I heard him give a low, deadly chuckle, "Do you know who I am?" He asked sternly. "Oh, the moon must be playing some sort of joke with me." He added. "What?" I asked, as his words had only confused me. "I see you aren't one to be silent." He said and I scoffed at him while trying my best to give him my deadliest glare. "Well, that’s cute." He smirked as he whispered so low, but luckily I had just caught what he said. "Listen here wolf!" I snapped, as I could smell the wet dog smell all over him which confirmed that he was a wolf. "If you don’t let me go, my father will come and so will my fiancé," I said a little too proudly. For some reason, my words seemed to only anger him and it gave me some sort of satisfaction. Then I felt fear creep in as he was up in front of the gate within seconds as he swung the cell door open. I stepped back, which caused me to trip backwards as I began to push myself backwards until I felt my back hit the walls. He got down to my level and placed a hand on the wall not far from my head. His face had a murderous look on it right now. "You are mine!" I swear his murderous tone made the ground beneath me shake. I stared right at him as he said those words. His eyes were pitch black as he took in heavy breaths as if he was trying to stay calm. He was so close to me that I felt the warmth of his breath on my skin. His lips slowly hovering over my lips gave off a slight tingling feeling, it felt good and strange at the same time. As if he had slowly come to his senses, he backed off and closed the cell doors. I was beyond confused by his actions as I watched him watch me from the other side of the cell. I was still seated on the floor with my back against the wall as he slowly walked away, leaving me in the darkness of my silence.
