The Necklace

" You're awake now, Alpha.." Andrea opened her eyes. A timid ray of sunlight peeped from the window to his left. Sensing the atmosphere and the smells around, Andrea knows she's not with some strangers. And she felt relief when she clearly confirmed the faces in front of her. " We thought you died that night, Alpha," It was Gonzalo, the Zeta of their pack. Though her head was heavy, she forced a smile. At the back of her mind, she knows that she actually died that night. This life of hers now was her rebirth life. She's glad that she was able to save some of her pack, at least she has her Zeta. The moon goddess bringing her back to that night where they were siege has not gone to waste. Gonzalo was the Zeta of her pack. Now that her next mission is to rebuild the Hungry Fangs, Andrea needs her general. At least she's not starting from scratch. " How did you guys find me?" she asked. " We locate your scent...It has been dormant for months until we smelled you in the street," Gonzalo replied. " The others?" No one replied. Andrea looked around hoping to see more numbers of her pack, but they were just a few. " I ordered you all to escape right? What happened that night?" Gonzalo lowered his gaze. As the pack's general, he knows he had been inadequate at that time. " Just when half of our pack had crossed the borders to the highway, other packs arrived. There was a fight. They were many. It was like Salvatore has convinced all the packs in the world, and Blaine told us to go," Gonzalo said. " Blaine?" Andrea gasped. " Yeah," Gonzalo nodded. " When I come back to the border, those left behind are gone, including the Beta...Blaine," So this is how it all started... even though I stopped my death that night, Blaine's becoming a different person happens differently, still, he will forget me. Fighting this curse seems like defying fate...Will I win this? Andrea thinks. " How many of our packs had survived?" she asked. " Half of our pack survived. The others were not just here. It would be okay if we scattered now into different locations so it won't be easy for them to eliminate us all," Gonzalo said. " Fine.." Andrea tried to get up from her bed. Gonzalo worriedly reminded her that she needs to recover yet. But Andrea insisted that she was okay now and that she needs to train, to prepare herself for the biggest war that she and her pack is about to get into. She also ordered the Delta wolves to locate her rebirth parents. Her rebirth parents were thinking that they were the only ones who survived in the Hungry Fangs pack, but now that the destiny was reversed on that s*******r night, it's time her rebirth parents should know that they weren't alone anymore. She lost her beloved Beta, but at least she did not completely lose her pack. This crescent moon thing is really crazy...but thank you, moon goddess. Even her pack doesn't know how Blaine suddenly become the Alpha of the United Wolves pack and the CEO of Moon Pharma. Andrea knows that even before the infertility issue, the United Wolves pack was already existing. It is the pack composed of higher ranks wolves from other packs who came in unity for the purpose of imposing peace and security on the entire werewolves specie. Basically, the United Werewolves pack is influential among all the packs in the werewolf world, especially now with the Hungry Fangs pack losing power. I must know all that's behind this! Andrea thought to herself. And so she decided to spy on Blaine beginning that day of his first business convention. " I need to know all the background about Moon Pharma," Andrea said. She ordered her wolves to find any truth they could find. The next day, here she was standing from a distance watching Blaine from afar. He entirely looks different from Beta Blaine who used to adore her. Now things aren't even sure about them. She wanted to go near to him and called his name, but when she saw his guards approaching, Andrea hold back. It was as if she was hit by reality. C'mon Andrea...He's no longer the Blaine you know... Andrea reminded herself. She grasped at the ice frost pendant on the necklace she wears. This necklace evokes in her many memories of Blaine. How could she forget that day he gave this to her? " Ice frost? Why? Am I that cold?" Andrea giggled. " No, Drei...coz like the ice you can be both dangerous and beautiful," Blaine replied " Dangerous? The ice?" " Hmm...too much froze could tear a flesh in time," Andrea wiped the tears from her eyes. It was like she was hearing Blaine's voice in her thoughts. Those beautiful memories she had once with him were now painful to recall. How much do you love me, Blaine? How much? Is our love enough to defy the curse? She whispered in her mind. " What is it Alpha?" Andrea heard one of Blaine's guards ask him. She saw a glimpse of him turning in her direction. Andrea shrinks hiding in the corner. Blaine must have sensed some presence spying on him. " Nothing," She heard Blaine reply. Andrea sighed in relief when she saw him finally get into his car. Does he have mixed-up memories? Andrea asked herself when she recalls Blaine's speech. It was I who told her that story of a healer, but why am I not in the picture? Wanting to know more, Andrea get in her car and decided to tail on Blaine. From the rear mirror, she noticed that Blaine was sitting in the back seat. Another wolf is driving for him. There is another car in a convoy at his back. They really are concerned with Blaine's security. After an hour of following Blaine, Andrea was led into a huge sized house built of sandstone which is secluded among the trees. She almost had her jaw dropped in awe never expecting that Blaine was now living in what looked like a castle. She heard about the influence of the United Wolves, but she never expected they would be this rich. Or have they become rich now? Andrea asked herself. " Alpha, I've got one important piece of information!" A voice from her headphone interrupted her. It was one of her Delta who she ordered to dig out information about Moon Pharma. " Yeah," Andrea replied, prompting that she was waiting for someone in the other line to spill the news out. " Blaine Sanders is the lost heir to the founder of the United Wolves pack. The founder was his grandfather, who was the same owner of Moon Pharma too," " Okay," Andrea responds calmly though she was wondering how could this all happen. The Blaine she knows was an orphan. Or maybe, yeah he finds his way back to his roots. Andrea explained to himself. "And one more thing, Alpha..." " Yeah, what is it?" " The Moon Pharma is in partnership with the Solace," " The Solace?" " Yeah, Alpha...that's the name of Magnus' laboratory...The Solace," Andrea gripped hard on the car wheel. She dropped the call. Now she seems to see clearly in pieces. Magnus. The Gamma wolf shaman must have something to do with this all. Andrea gets out of her car. She gazed at the high walls that are surrounding the house. She took a deep breath and began climbing on it. Good thing, Gonzalo had found a way to hide all their pack's scent, especially hers. Now, those who are inside the house won't notice her presence, nor they would know that she is Andrea Catalda. She was used to stuff like this, barging into properties, assassinating someone, but now she's doing this alone. There's no Beta Blaine to back her up. Before she used to do these things without fear. She was savage and careless perhaps she had nothing in mind then but only Blaine and her. She doesn't care about the world and the perils she's about to go through as long as she and Blaine was together. But now...here I am doing this alone! Andrea thinks. "Alpha," Andrea quickly hide in the bushes as soon as her feet landed on the ground. She heard one of Blaine's servants calling him. She peeped a little. She noticed that she was in the pool area, and the servant was handing Blaine a juice and towel. Andrea couldn't help but peeped a little from where she was hiding. Blaine looks like a greek god in his blue swimming trunks. Damn! His biceps are screaming! Andrea thinks as her eyes trail on his body. She didn't notice that she was now watching every detail of him how he go and for swimming in the pool. The sight of the water dripping in his abs makes Blaine looks like he was a model of that towel he was wiping. " Did you enjoy the show?" Andrea's eyes widened in shock. She shrinks hiding more in the bushes. Was he talking to me? She asked herself. " Come out there!" Now Blaine's voice was authoritative. "Come out! Or else I will call all the guards!" He threatened. Damn! If all the wolves in this place come here. I can't fight them all. I'm not prepared now. I'll be cornered here. Andrea thinks. " Are you going to show yourself or not?" Blaine yelled. Andrea slowly comes out from the bushes and flashed an awkward smile. " Hi," she muttered not looking straight at him scared that she might be recognized that she was of the Hungry Fangs. Blaine grabbed her chin and looked straightly into her face, flipping it as if he was checking. " Ouch! What!" Andrea pushed him. " You're weird!" " I'm just checking you're not one of those whom we hunt!" Blaine said. " The Hungry Fangs?" Blaine nodded. " Uhm... how did you know?" he asked. " Anyway...that was historical every wolf knows that...they all died years ago, I shouldn't be worried anyway," Blaine added. Andrea was stunned more by what she heard, all those words coming from Blaine felt different. He sounded like he hadn't been a Beta of the Hungry Fangs pack. " But..you little intruder...why are you here again huh?" Blaine grabbed her arms and was about to drag her out and call the guards when an old lady servant came rushing. " Alpha..no!" the old lady stopped him. Blaine looked at her. " She was the rouge wolf sent as your personal assistant!" the old lady informed Blaine. Blaine let go of her. But Andrea was even more confused now. What? I didn't apply to be his personal assistant. Am I sent here? What is this old lady saying? And I'm not a rouge wolf... Andrea thought to herself. " rouge wolf?" Blaine argued. " How come a rouge is now here with the crowd? And one more thing...My criteria for a personal assistant are not someone who does chores and make pancakes!" Blaine said looking in her direction with mockery. Andrea raised an eyebrow. " I want a male wolf...not a she-wolf...I want a warrior-type assistant. I don't want a babysitter!" Blaine ranted. Andrea burst a laugh. She laughed at the thought of how Blaine mistakenly assumed she was someone who doesn't know combat but just babysitting and house chores. Does she look frail anyway? " What?! Why are you laughing?" Blaine asked her wondering, sounding offended. But Andrea just flipped her hair annoying him more. Blaine's eyebrows creased. He grabbed Andrea's shoulders wanting to shove her, but before he could do that, Andrea got a grip of him. Their arms wrestled. Now Andrea was looking at Blaine glaring straight into his eyes with a smirk on her face. "Babysitter my ass..." she mumbled with gritted teeth. " I'm even better in combat than you!" she whispered to his ears, teasing. Then she flipped his arms. " This...is how I babysit!" Andrea muttered and she shoved Blaine back to the pool. And she climbed hurriedly unto the wall. Andrea moved faster as she can. She quickly started the engine of her car when she got into it, hurriedly leaving the United Wolves pack house, thinking that they could chase her at any moment. Meanwhile, Blaine got out of the pool. He was supposed to call the guards and chase for Andrea to punish her, but then the sight of the necklace on the floor caught his attention. Its frost ice pendant was somehow bringing out some unusual feelings in him he could not identify.
