CHAPTER ONE Rain falling from the night sky like hails so heavy. Hitting the roofs. The houses were quiet, everyone asleep but Olly lay in his bed thinking about her, Liv, he had finally grown the balls to ask her out. She had said yes and now he was contemplating where he should take her, what they should do, what Nike shoes he should wear, he was really excited. He had loved her for as long as he could remember but unfortunately she had Brad. To her, he was just the childhood friend she shared all her secrets with while Olly died of pain, seeing her love someone else but at the same time he was always happy that she was happy with Brad but as soon as Brad hurt her, he swooped in and finally shot his shot. He lay in his bed listening to the rain and finally trailed off in thoughts and slept. His iPhone 12 woke him up the next day at 5:00am he was one of those morning people, you know, do some morning exercises and all that. He took a nice warm bath and was at the dining table by 6:30 his little brother Hedrick who everyone called Rick, is 17, was there. His mom, Alexa and dad, Cole were all having breakfast as a happy family together. The school bus pulled up and Olly and Rick drove off to school. Before Olly entered his class he took a pill. He had been taking the pills for about three years now. He had been diagnosed with schizophrenia at 15. He would have these delusions or here these voices sometimes which he was told were nothing, just his mind playing tricks on him. He walks into the class. Then Mrs. Hermione, their chemistry teacher, told them to jump to page 45 and the day hazed off and it was 4 o'clock in the evening and he was leaving school. He was excited for his date with her so he was heading home straight to clean himself up. He heard the voices again, the delusions, as his therapist called them. He took a pill but the voice persisted and when he was going to take another pill the voice said, “Wait!!" It sounded like a girls voice, “If u do that I won't be able to talk to you." and he thought to himself that's exactly why am taking it and the voice spoke," Yes, I know, but you need to know your not crazy there more of us...people like you n I." and he thought to himself yes there a lot of schizophrenics and the voice continued,” I know you don't believe me but just let me show you that you're not." When he accepted the voice told him to go somewhere where no one can see, he obeyed and a man appeared outta smoke like a smoke bomb magicians use but difference is that there were no trap doors. The smoke looked like a black hole in which the man jumped out of and touched him on the shoulder and snap! they are in some kind of basement but looks really classy. It was filled with plenty of teenagers doing all sort of things games, eating, and all that then the guy who brought him here looked at him. Olly looked like he was about to throw up and the man said, “We just teleported, mind blowing right?. Don’t worry you'll get the hang of it." and he said, “Val, the kid's here." Well they all looked same age but this dude is calling him kid, he just kept quiet, “By the way, kid am Josh and Valerie was the voice inside your head. She's coming to show you around." She came down from up the stairs and introduced herself but Olly was only thinking about the fact that he had just teleported and he asked her, “You teleport too?" and she giggled and said, “That’s just Josh's power, me, I'm a telepath, “she said "but I can do more than just read minds." her eyes turned all smoky bluish just like the black hole that josh teleports into and she said, “Up!" and his right hand was up then he was impressed, “You mean can control people too" she replied," Anything with a brain." and giggled. Olly was still thinking cool and it struck him she said he's one of them but he hadn't noticed any powers yet. “That’s because you've been on pills that block you're imagination so you couldn't yet learn how to use them." She replied "I'm sorry for reading your mind... thoughts are just too loud." Val is what you would call more than beautiful every aspect of her body had perfect precision and Olly has a body of an athlete, thin but muscular, they stood staring at each other for sometime until Olly said,"Huh? So it would be impossible to lie to you. How do your powers work?" Olly asked, not hiding the fact that he was really shocked and impressed. She replied, “Well am like a radio receiving all your thoughts...well at first it was hard to control it when I started hearing people's thoughts I couldn't control it but now I can ignore them but that's the thing I still here them it's like I can't block what I hear...if you know what I mean." "What else can you do apart from reading thoughts, talking in my mind and controlling me," he asked. "Basically anything to do with the mind...I can also make people see illusions. Make them see what I want them to...OK I'll answer the rest of your questions with time but now let me show you around." She said and started walking, signaling him to follow her. "This is our practice room...where new 7s learn how to control their powers. “she said. "Sevens??" "Well normal people have six senses, right? “not waiting for his answer she continued, “well have you had of the concept that people don't use even more than 5% of their brain...well the ability to have supernatural powers is when we're using more of our minds, its like our 7th sense, that's why we call ourselves the sense 7s. You have seen fortune tellers who say things that actually come true or magicians who read minds, they just don't know that they have powers and they aren't using them fully cause their minds can't fully control them. Then there's people like us who were born with the 7th sense and in our teen years it hits us." "When did you get yours?” he was curious. "Well I was almost 15 when I started hearing peoples thoughts." That's how old Olly was when the voices began. “So you're the voice I've been hearing since I was 15." "Well yeah, sometimes but most times it was other voices. Of other people because your telepath powers had begun, you had started reading peoples thoughts and I would try to guide you through but then you begun taking pills which disabled me to communicate.” She tried to change the subject, “Josh brought me in and we have been getting others like us since...but I hadn't been sure if you were one of us, cause you hadn't shown signs of any powers, till last week when you telepathically reached out to me and spoke to me. I realized only another telepath can do that." "So your saying I'm a telepath,” he said with clear excitement written all over his face. He had spoken to her telepathically when he was dreaming, so he did it subconsciously. "Well, yes," she replied, “but you have to learn how to control it, it took me only a month to learn how to ignore the voices but with you they haven't even began so I don't know how you were able to speak to me...but you're hear to learn...so if you can come every evening we can help you." "Oh! Yes I'd love that." That's when he remembered that he had a date with Liv. "Yes you better go, girls don't like it when you're late. “Val said and just like that she called out for Josh and he came down, then she asked him if he could take Olly home. Then he was in my room, “See you around, kid," Josh said before he left. He took a quick bath and looked for some casual clothes to put on. He really liked the color celeste and he wore a celeste long sleeved shirt and some long suit slacks with some suede shoes too. He hopped into the car his dad had got him for his 18th birthday, it was clocking 6pm. He texted Rick, “Tell mom and dad I'm coming back at around 9pm, OK? At a friend's place. " "" Rick replied ..................... While Val and Josh were talking, “Do you think he's ready? “Josh asked. "I don't know, but he's powers...I don't understand, he's a telepath but he can't hear thoughts yet." "Well that's why we have you. You'll be a good teacher for him.”
