CHAPTER TWO

Olly drove in his Chevrolette car, dressed all smart and very worried. You'd think he was worried about his date but he wasn't , his mind was still trying to handle the fact that super powers are actually real! He had never thought that the supernatural existed let alone that he was one of them. He reached Liv's place and got out the car.

He rang the door bell and she came down stairs opened for him

"Come in."she said. He simply moved in and stood in the living room “I’ll finish closing up and we can leave." She handled some things in the kitchen, they walked out and she locked the front door.

"Well where are you taking me, Olly?” she said, very excited.

"Wait and see,” he replied grabbing the car door for her and she entered with a smile on her face ear lobe to ear lobe.

They drove in silence for sometime, they had never been so quiet like this before they usually spoke going on and on non stop like the best friends they were.

When they got there, it was the place they first met. It was an outdoor restaurant.

"I remember this place," Liv said sounding amused that this is where he brought her. This place brought her wonderful memories she was actually glad he chose here. She continued speaking to him,"I remember when I walked up to you and asked you of you were a boy or girl and you told me your mom told you not to talk to strangers." They both laughed after remembering the odd way they met.

"Well Uhmmmm....you told me your name then you told me now that I knew your name you were no longer a stranger."

She smiled as she remembered those were the exact words a she had told him seven years ago when they were 11 now they were all grown up.

They ordered some food and started to talk about their childhood. They were having a good time when Olly started hearing whispers. Whispers like when a radio is looking for a signal but just keeps on playing random channels. The whispers didn't make sense until one of the whispers he had sounded like Liv. He listened closely. And he realized they were her thoughts. Liv was thinking to herself, ‘I wonder why I never told him I liked him from the very start instead of going out with Brad to make him jealous, I don't...' that's when the other whispers came in and he couldn't hear what she was thinking at that instant he wasn't bothered by the fact that he had just heard her thoughts, he was instead thinking about the fact that liv had liked him all this time.

When they were done, it was getting darker. Clocking 8pm.

Olly wanted to tell her everything but then he thought she would just think am making this stuff up.

"Liv I gotta tell you something but please keep an open mind, OK?"

"Sure,” she replied hesitantly, “what is it?"

He didn’t know where to begin or what to say he just tried to make her understand, “Have you ever wondered if super powers are real?"

"I haven’t given it much thought, but why?"

"What if I told you that I could read your mind like actual mind reading..."

She was looking at him in disbelief, “Are you off your meds again Olly?...are the voices disturbing you again?"

"No, am perfectly fine I just want you to think of something, anything I couldn't possibly guess. Then I'll tell you what you're thinking."

She wanted him to be right, she wanted to believe what he was saying, this wasn't the first time he had refused to take his pills and had a mental breakdown but she did as he asked, “Now what? Your going to read my mind?” she said sarcastically and he said, “Well...yes."

She thought of the words she wanted to tell him, to describe what she actually felt for him, to describe this untamed desire to be with him and she hoped he could actually read her mind as he claimed but Olly tried. He tried wondering how he did it earlier, how he let all the voices in, but he failed, “Just give me a sec,” he said. He couldn't tell what she was thinking and she didn’t wait to hear his next statement of crazy explanation she simply said, “You’ve got to stop skipping your medications, OK?"

He knew what this looked like. He looked insane claiming he could read her mind but he decided not to push it, “You’re right I think I didn't take my pills in the afternoon, “he lied.

"Its OK," she comforted him, “besides I like it when you don't take your pills so I can make fun of you after.” She loved joking around with him. They both giggled.

"We better leave,"he said while putting some money down for what they had ate. They walked to the car and sat in while she was thinking of ways to tell him she loved him she ended up blurting,"Do you think we can be more than just best friends?"

She wished she could rewind those last few seconds but still she was glad she asked cause honestly she was done waiting for him to make a move she needed answers though she hadn't noticed that this date was him making a move she thought he was just cheering her up because of the whole Brad thing. She had misunderstood the whole date.

She looked at him waiting for an answer.

"Well...i guess so."he replies trying hard to hide the excitement in his eyes.

"Cause I think..."she trailed off 'I think we should be more than just friends'she thought to herself but instead said,"...I'm really tired I loved today thanks for cheering me up and making me forget the whole brad drama. Love you Olly."

"Love you too,"he replied as she moved out the car and walked to her door and waved as he was driving away.

A few minutes later Olly was home he walked in, everyone was done with their dinner and he was full so he just told them hi and went up, to his room. Tomorrow he had a free day, no lessons, so he said he would go to the under ground lounge as soon as he woke up to Learn how to control his powers. He cleaned himself up, fell onto his bed and dazed off into dreaming. He had a dream about Kathy, his brother's girlfriend, turns out Rick was having the same dream. That means it wasn't Olly's dream its like he was telepathically having his brother's dream like he was just watching it .

And suddenly he couldn't see the dream clearly enough and just like that its like he had been kicked out Rick's dream. He's powers would only come for some time and then in a short time they're gone. He had woken up after he could no longer see Rick's dream and he wondered how he would learn how to control these powers and how cool that would be. He also thought of what he thought he had liv think of at the date. Does she really love him and was brad just a way to make him jealous...he wondered.
