Chapter 3

So you know how I said that I was being dragged. Yeah, then out of nowhere I'm being tossed back and somebody is punching the man who was trying to get rid of me. Holy s**t balls Then the person who punched him turned around and showed me who he was. Jason. "Are you okay, spit fire?" He used that ridiculous nick name. "Yeah" I said and blew out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Just then my father came into view. "What the hell is going on?" His voice bellowed with anger. "Someone tried to throw your daughter off the ship. Literally, captain." My fathers eyes grew wide in hate and anger as he searched for the culprit. "Sir, I didn't know she was your daughter. I just thought she was another one of the sluts trying to get our treasure. So I took her and went to toss her off." The man who grabbed me said to my father. "Aye! No one! And I mean no one lays a hand on this girl! Am I understood?!" There was a round of "yes captains" and "yes sirs". So now I'm protected, awesome. "Get this man off my ship!" "Aye sir!" Jason said as he grabbed the man and tossed him over board onto the dock. Holy s**t that was hot. No, I can't think like that. I just met this man. All thoughts aside my father turns to ma and so does Jason. "Are you alright, Evelyn?" "Yes father. I'm alright" I say, trying to mask the panic in my voice. Jason looks at me like he knows I'm terrified but doesn't say anything. "Alright then. Let's set sail boys!" My fathers voice trembles the ship and the men gather round their respective duties. Looks like I'm in for a wild ride if I do say so myself. This is not like livin on the streets. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I look behind as the ship takes off. The dock a mere small spot now. I'm trying to find out why I even listened to the fortune teller. Mentally slapping myself in the face. "Oh s**t" I hear from one of the crew members. He looks at me like he said something he shouldn't. "I'm sorry, m'lady. Didn't mean to curse in front of ya. Apologies." I smile at him, "no worries sir. It's alright. I can handle a little 'oh s**t' here and there." This makes him laugh in turn making me laugh with him. Just then my father comes out from the cabin, "Okay you blokes! Enough shittin around! We make our first stop in two days time! We need to be ready for anyone on the seas trying to steal our things. Eyes pealed men!" A round of 'aye captain' erupts on the ship. My father glances at me and motions for me to join him at the front of the boat. "Child, I have many questions. First off, how did you know who I was and how did you find me?" Ah simple questions get simple answers, I think to myself. "See I was running from a shop owner and found myself in an area of town that I don't visit because of the dangers that lurk there. So I was wondering around and found this fortune teller. She was actually a witch, I got that feeling when she grabbed my wrist. And she explained that I had no idea who I was and who my father was. So I asked her to tell me what she knew. She told me you were the king of the seven seas. And I actually laughed at her because no way a king is my father. She then told me I'd find you here at the docks but to hurry because you wouldn't be there forever. So I found the ship that had Evelyn on it and figured that this was my father boat and that led up to the events that had happened." I say the last part quietly. "I see." Is all he says and then walks away. I storm towards him, "You're not going to tell me anything? That's all you have to say?" He turns around and smiles at me, "I think that we've had a hard day as it is. And there is always room for questions tomorrow. I'll have Jason show you your quarters." With that he stalks away. Ugh! People are so difficult!
