Episode 4

In front of her stood the massive and the oldest cathedral. It was the same Cathedral she has always dreamed of having her wedding. “Get ready everyone! The wedding is about to start” Kylie heard the wedding coordinator say from inside. She fixed her dress a bit and took a deep breath. Inhale. Exhale. She was so anxious and couldn't stop pinching her pinky finger to calm down a bit with her gaze focused on the bouquet in her hands “This is it,” She whispered to herself. Finally she was getting married to Liam Stevenson as Sabrina Covington. “You ok?” Lizzy, Sabrina’s best friend whom Kylie just met that morning, asked her with a glimpse of concern in her eyes. “I’m fine. Just a bit nervous” she assured. Kylie was even surprised that Lizzy didn't notice an imposter had taken over her friend's life. The Church door opened and a solemn song began to play. Everything felt surreal from the decor and everything. Each gaze was fixed on her when it was her time to enter and it made her even more anxious. She took a deep breath and focused her gaze to where the Priest was. Next to him was the groom she knew nothing about but was getting married to anyway. But she couldn't deny how much he stood out in his gray suit and a new haircut. He was a gorgeous man. If only this was a real marriage. If only her parents were there to witness it and her father walking her down the aisle. She would have been the happiest bride on earth. “You can start walking down the aisle now” The coordinator said, interrupting her from her thoughts. She took in a deep breath again. And slowly, she began to walk down the aisle. As she got to the altar,Liam offered her his palm to help her up and she took it. The priest, his face beaming with a gentle smile, addressed Liam. "Do you, Michael Sterling, take this woman, Sabrina Covington, to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?” The Church was quiet as they all waited for the answer to the Priest’s question. “I do, father!” He replied, with his gaze fixed on Kylie. Everyone was immersed already. She looked up at the cross in the centre of the altar and closed her eyes as tears fell freely. How could they be lying right now in front of God? And he didn't even take a second to answer like he didn't care. Once she says her vows too,she would be tied to this stranger for two years and deceive everyone that she was someone she wasn't. “Awwww” she heard the audience chorus and her eyes snapped open “They don't think I'm crying because it's an emotional moment right?” She asked herself inwardly. The same question was finally thrown at her and for the last time, she looked at the cross and her chest tightened. “I'm sure God would understand that I'm doing this because I don't want to go to jail” she said inwardly as she took a deep breath. “Yes,I do!” The audience applauded them. “You may now kiss your bride” The priest instructed. “A kiss? Like a f*****g mouth to mouth?” She screamed in her head and her eyes widened. She glared at Liam as if telling him to cancel it but his expression was unreadable. He just looked like a regular groom getting married to his regular bride. But they weren't regular! But before she knew it,she felt his arms around her waist as he pulled her closer then his lips pressed on hers while her eyes just stayed wide open. She settled into the car with Liam on their way to his mansion. The car was filled with awkward silence as he lit up a cigarette. Kylie only fidgeted in her seat Liam suddenly turned to her, offering her a pack of cigarettes “Do you smoke?” He asked, his voice sharp She shook her head quickly “No,I don't.” She stammered. His expression hardened as he took the cigarette away. “Can't offer twice?” Not like she would still accept it because she truly doesn't smoke. But offering once made it look like he never wanted to give her in the first place. He took a drag of his cigarette, not looking at her as he blew the smoke out of the window. Kylie walked into Liam Stevenson’s mansion and her mouth dropped open at the luxury surrounding her. She couldn't believe this was going to be her home henceforth. She was overwhelmed by the sheer scale and beauty of the structures surrounding her. The towering marble columns and the glistering chandeliers were nothing she has ever seen before. Liam motioned to a maid who led Kylie up the stairs to her bedroom while he disappeared into the house. She settled in her bed as she took in her surroundings. “Yes,I made the best choice. This place is heaven” she said to herself as a broad smile began to spread on her face. If she had been foolish enough to reject Liam's offer, she would currently be lying on a worn out mattress in prison for something she didn't do. “Good thing I look like that dead woman.” She got up from the bed, still smiling with her hands behind her back. She pushed the walk-in closet door open and her mouth dropped open by how filled up it was with the designer brands she had always imagined owning. "Oh my goodness!" Kylie exclaimed, her fingers trailing the silky fabric of a dress she’d only ever dreamed of touching. She was already picturing herself in each one, twirling in front of a mirror. Just as she was about to pull a stunning red gown from the rack, the bedroom door swung open. Kylie hurried out of the closet, a wide grin plastered on her face. It was Liam. “Did you get me all of this?” she asked, her voice full of genuine awe. “It’s so thoughtful of you! How did you even know my size?” Liam looked down at her, a flicker of irritation in his eyes. “Why would I?” he muttered loud enough for her to hear, his voice cold. Kylie's smile faltered. "Oh, I just... I meant if you didn't, then how did all these clothes get here?" He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "They're hers," he said, "They all belonged to Sabrina. Seems you’re just as materialistic as she was." He judged her too quickly. The words hit her like a punch. Kylie's hands dropped to her sides, and she took a step back from the closet as if the clothes were suddenly contaminated. "Since you seem to love them so much, you can keep them all. It seems like a better idea than whatever you will have going on in your personal closet," Liam said, his voice flat. “Why are you here?” The excitement in her voice was already gone and she just wanted to be alone as soon as possible. “You will be making an appearance at the Company on Monday” Kylie's heart sank. "Okay," she whispered, her voice barely audible. He simply turned and shut the door with a rude, final thud. Her cheeks burned with shame. She hated that he saw her as materialistic, and greedy just like the woman she was impersonating. She had just been admiring things she’d never had, things she’d only ever seen in magazines. But to Liam, she was just another greedy woman.
