Episode 1
Kylie expertly navigates her way through cars and pedestrians. She stopped the scooter when she got to the destination where the delivery was to be made. It was a hotel. Her mouth dropped open as she stared at the posh and luxurious hotel. She marveled at the beauty of the hotel as she walked towards the reception area. She felt ashamed of how shabby she looked compared to other people in the lobby. "Good day" she announced her arrival to the receptionist "I'm here to make a delivery to room 103," Kylie said as exhaled. But she wasn't acknowledged. Kylie repeated herself “Hello I said I have a delivery” Still ignored Then Kylie snapped “b***h I said I have a delivery to make!” The receptionist finally looked up from her computer, “Excuse me? Did you just call me a b***h? That was so rude of you” "Maybe I wouldn't have if you didn't make me repeat myself” "I'm going to have to confirm your appointment with our guest," the receptionist said as she stared at Kylie in disgust. "Here is the delivery order and confirmation email," she said and showed it to her as she tried to remain unbothered. "I'll just make a quick call" In a minute, the receptionist dropped the phone "Thank you for your Patience” the receptionist said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes, “Room 103 is located on the third floor, left wing. "Thank you," Kylie said and made her way to the elevator. She bumped into a man who was putting on a black hoodie when she landed on the third floor. "I'm very sorry" she quickly apologized. "No, it's fine," the man quickly said without looking at Kylie. Kylie wasn't sure what the smell was, but she could smell a weird smell from the man. "What on Earth was that smell" she muttered to herself after the man had gotten into the elevator. Kylie trolled down the hallway, with her attention fixed on the room numbers. She sighed heavily when she finally found the one she was looking for. She was about to ring the doorbell when she noticed the door wasn't locked. "Hello!" She called out, hoping someone would come out and answer her "Your order is here," she said but still there was no reply. She gently opened the door and got in. She could hear the shower running when she entered the room fully. "Who opens their door when they are showering?" She said to himself and carefully placed the package on the bed. She wanted to leave immediately but gave it a second thought. She wondered why the person in the shower didn't even hear her enter. "What if I'm seen as a pervert?" She asked herself inwardly. She just couldn't go like that, what if the person had slipped and needed help? With that, she opened the bathroom door but didn't see anyone. There was no one using the shower that was running. She got in and stopped the shower, she was about to leave when stepped on something metallic. She moved her feet to pick it up and that was when she saw it was a knife with bloodstains “Was this a movie set or what?” She asked herself as she examined the knife, then she heard a shallow breathing coming from the direction of the bathtub. She slowly opened the curtain that was used to demarcate it from the rest of the bathroom and screamed at what she saw with the knife flying away from her hand. There was blood everywhere and a woman lying in the bathtub, breathing slowly. Her neck was slashed. Kylie rushed to her hoping she could help. She was more shocked when she saw that the dying woman looked just exactly like her. The hair color, eyes, and even body shape. The only difference was that the woman's skin looked richer than hers. Shaking, she took out her phone to dial the emergency number. "This is 911, what's your emergency? '' a feminine voice said. "A..m…, f**k!" She stammered because she couldn't bring herself to talk. "What's going on, ma’am" The lady asked "A woman is dying here! She needs help as soon as possible!" She yelled and ended the call. She planned to leave the hotel room immediately after the call so that she wouldn't get involved with the case, but it was already late for her as she heard footsteps rushing in. "Freeze!" She heard the police men say and she quickly got on her knees with her hands over her head. One of the police officers moved closer to her and cuffed her. "Suspect taken down," the police said into his radio. Another police officer went closer to the woman in the bathtub to see if she was still breathing, but she was already dead. "I didn't kill her, I swear," Kylie said as she was taken out of the bathroom. "I'm just a delivery driver. She was barely breathing when I came in, you can check the CCTV" she kept telling them hoping someone would listen to her. When the receptionist confirmed her appointment, a call had been made to the police by the real murderer to frame Kylie. She remembered the guy in the hoodie that she met earlier. Her instinct told her he was the murderer, so she decided to tell the police her little information. "I met the real murder on my way, check the CCTV" she quickly said "Will somebody listen to me?" She yelled at them. A female Police officer came into the crime scene and looked at one of the policemen, Kylie immediately guessed was their superior. "Unfortunately, Ms. Sabrina's family had requested that no CCTV should be on this floor to protect their daughter’s privacy," the police said "And the receptionist said she was still alive when she called her about the delivery. Which means she was the last person to see her alive" Kylie's shoulders fell after hearing the police. There was no way out for her. No evidence to prove her innocence. "You are under arrest as a suspect of Sabrina Convington's murder” The officers led Kylie through the crowded lobby, their hands on her arms in a firm, unyielding grip. The receptionist, the same woman who she had been rude to just minutes before, was now staring at her with a look of utter disgust. "I knew it," the receptionist muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear. "I knew there was something off about her." Kylie's head snapped up. She looked at the woman, her eyes wide with disbelief. "What are you talking about?" she pleaded. "You know I didn't do this." "How would I know?" the receptionist spat, recoiling as if Kylie's words were poison. "You should've never been allowed in here in the first place. You're a murderer!" "That's enough," one of the officers said, pushing Kylie forward. But the receptionist wasn't done. "The woman was still alive when I talked to her! You were the last one to see her! You're the one who killed her! You filthy smelling thing!" she shrieked. Kylie's heart sank. No one believes her. She was just a delivery girl, nobody. And now, she was a murder suspect, too. She felt like her life was over. **** The next morning, when Kylie woke up in her cell, she felt like it was a dream that would be over soon. She couldn't believe she was arrested as a murder suspect overnight. If only she had known it would turn out that way, she wouldn't have entered the hotel room when she saw it was open. She wouldn't have entered the bathroom at all. "My life is over!" She lamented. "The deceased's family is here to see you,” a police officer said, unlocking the door. Kylie panicked. How was she supposed to face the family ? She slowly stood up and followed the police officer. When they got to where the visitor was waiting, the officer excused himself. It was a man. The man was standing by the window, his back to her, tall and imposing. When he turned, she saw a striking man with a chiseled jawline, a straight nose, and eyes the color of a stormy sky. Too handsome to be real, with an intensity in his gaze that made her instinctively want to look away. He looked like all those CEOs she watched in movies. Then, with a sudden, predatory grace, he closed the distance between them. He reached for her, and before Kylie could react, his hand was around her neck in a possessive grip that made it hard to swallow, let alone breathe. Kylie choked out a gasp, her hands flying up to try and pry his fingers away. She was defenseless, terrified. This man doesn't look like here was there to moan,he was there to kill He didn't listen to her struggles. Instead, he shook her head side to side, his eyes searching her face, her hair, her very being. It was a bizarre action that made her feel like a specimen under a microscope. After what felt like eternity,he finally let go, and Kylie stumbled back, collapsing to her knees, gasping for air. Her hands went immediately to her throat, rubbing at the spot where his fingers had been. He turned to the man standing behind him. "Are you sure she's the one? Is this really the person who killed Sabrina?" “She is the the suspect Mr Stevenson" Kylie looked up at him, tears of terror and desperation in her eyes. "Please," she whispered, her voice raw and strained. "I didn't do it. I swear I didn't.”
