Mate?

Vincent's POV "Stop pacing he will back with King," "Will he?" Vincent growled in annoyance. He didn't have high hopes that Mr. Cree Devil's Paradise owner was really going to let them meet King. No he will probably just get the security to kick them out. You don't just find King he or shocking actually she will find you. "Alpha you got to have more faith then that," Nathaniel shook his head a smile on his face. What felt like hours, but was actually only minutes later Mr. Cree stepped in a big smile on his face. Stepping forward Nathaniel introduced himself and Vince. After some idled chit chat he turned to King herself introducing her. "Why am I here?" What was with her attitude and why did he kind of like it? The smell of strawberries and cream wafted into his nose. Pupils dilating as he stared over at King. How could this be? There's no way this is right. King can't be his mate. "Is King really your first name?" Vincent couldn't help but ask. Now that he had seen King he knew there was no way King was her first name. It couldn't be possible. "No," "What is your first name?" Rolling his eyes at her antics he continued to push for the answer. "None of your business," She snapped glaring at Vincent. "Either tell me what you really want or we leave I don't have all night gentleman," He could see it in her eyes she wasn't bluffing, if they didn't get straight to it she was going to leave. Vincent knew that they needed to tell her the truth, and yet he couldn't find the words to express this. All he could do was check out the woman across from him. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen with her long wavy black hair, that fit and curvy in all the right places body, she was a natural beauty and those hazel eyes that had flecks of green in them. What he didn't know was why she agreed to help? Why help them when she clearly disliked lycans and the calling vampires bood suckers didn't help. Despite all of that she still said yes. Watching her leave with Domino it took all his strength to keep from running after her. He gasped the minute the door closed collapsing into his seat. "Are you okay?" Nathaniel quirked an eyebrow at him. "She's my mate," Vincent stared at the door eyes wide and mouth agape. How was this possible? Does she feel the connection to? And how can I accept a hybrid for a mate, she's half blood sucker. "So what are you going to do?" "I don't know," Sighing Vincent stood up heading to the door. Both men exited the room and club in silence. Vincent was torn half of him wanted to accept her and mark her while the other half wanted to reject her because of what she is. It wasn't fair to her, but he wasn't sure he could be with her. Would his pack accept her and what if they didn't? The next night she met with them to gather all the details regarding what happened, looking at a picture of his sister and getting all information regarding Vincent and the daughter of the coven leader. He knew it looked bad he had almost married a witch, but backed out embarrasing them because he knew they were playing him. It was hard for him to focus the entire time with her sitting so closed to him. All he wanted to do was pull her into his lap and burrow his nose into her neck and hair. "Did we lose you?" A familiar voice broke through the fog of his thoughts bringing him back to the present and a very annoyed looking King. "Sorry what?" He rubbed the back of his neck giving her a sheepish smile. "I will be going there alone to initially surveil, once I have confirmed they have your sister I will go in and extract her. Once I have her I will take her to my safe house just a few hours from the Shadow Coven and you will meet us there," She reiterated glaring at him. Wow, she really didn't like him. Maybe she couldn't feel the bond. "No," "No?" King repeated in confusion. "No," He sad matter of fact. "I will be going with you," "No you will not," "Oh yes I will," The two of them kept going back and forth neither willing to give in. "They know you," King snapped everyone quieting down to look at her. "They know what you look like, who you are. If you come with me there's no way I will be able to get close enough to them to get your sister back," Something he almost thought looked like sorrow flash in her eyes but gone too quickly for him to be sure. "Fine," Vincent sighed unable to argue her logic. She's right they knew him there was no way he wouldn't cause attention and then King would be exposed and unable to sneak in to rescue his sister. Everything in his body wanted to throw her over his shoulder and hide her away from the world. Forcing it down he instead sauntered over to the bar pouring himself a glass of scotch. "I'll need the number for the person you want me to call once I have gotten your sister?" "You can have - " "Mine," Vincent cut him off. King looked at the two of them oddly before pulling her phone out and handing it to him. "Put your number in my phone," Taking her phone he put in his phone number and then quickly texted himself so he could save her number. "Done," She took the phone slipping it into her back pocket. "I need to make a few calls and secure somethings before I can go. Give me a few days and I will head out," Nodding she turned and left without another word. "Did you hear anything she said?" Nathaniel chuckled seeming to find Vincent's struggles amusing. "Shut up!" Vincent playfully shoved Nathaniel. "I am happy for you," Nathaniel smiled proudly at Vincent. "Really? Even though she's a hybrid?" "Why would that matter?" His eyebrows pinched together in confusion. "Well because shes not a full lycan and because she's half blood sucker," Vincent clarified. Nathaniel glared at Vincent his jaw clenched. Why was he mad, vincent was only being honest. "Seriously?" He finally blurted out cutting through the oppressive silence. "She is a gift blessed to you and you want to what throw her away?" "It's not that easy I have to think of the pack." Vincent argued. "The pack wouldn't give a s**t all any of us wanted was for you to find some happiness," Nathaniel snapped storming out of the room leaving Vincent with the realization that he was being a complete i***t. He was right she is a blessing, his gift handed to him by the fates who was he to question it.
