Hey master, it is still bothering me. Just who exactly was basil? There are many people with the same name. Two of the kings from byzentine empire had the name “Basil". Which basil is it? Why are you so obsessed with this guy.

The basil i fought is “Basil lekapenos". 

Ummm… Wait it is him who has said to have killed you with poison. I have read about this before, how could i forget? So he is the reason why you left your position as a king?

The books are very corrupted, they are only half true.

Guys, what is going on. It is a bit confusing.

Hayashi, we are talking about the leader of wakuza. He is an S rank eternal, he is actually a relative of our master john.

Ahhhhh, it is a long story. It has been a while since i shared it with anyone. Sure you wanna hear it out?

I have to go way back in time and tell the story from the very beginning.

During the dark ages, king romenos made a child with an servant. It was an illegitimate child of romenos the second. Very few higher up officials knew about it and the king choose to hide it your everyone. King romenos gave a huge amount of money to the women who bore that children and told her to leave the country with the bady and never return.

The king already had many childrens, most of them were already in a conflict with each other over the throne. Not to mention other royal family members who also wanted the throne. That is why romenos did not wanted another prince to rise and be part of the conflict.

However, that was not the end.

The women decided to not listen to the king and became very greedy. She became so greedy that she did not even cared for the babies protection. She decided to not leave the country and contacted few generals of the empire. One of the generals saw this as an opportunity and took her under him. The general used the baby and started blackmailing him. They were creating their own faction and started to grow more powerful.

Romenos however was not dumb, he choose the most bloodiest way to end this new threat. That is to annihilated every single person living on the area under the general. That includes womens and childrens as well. Romenos also ordered the baby to get executed in the process.

General nikephoros, another royal family member was sent to complete the mission. He took his 5000 men and attacked the castle.

It was 5000 men vs 4000 men.

Not only general nikephoros had the number advantage, but his soldiers were also more skilled. General nikephoros launched a surprise attack on the castle.

Womens, childrens, people of all ages were getting slaughtered. Some cried for help, others only thought of protecting their loved ones. None of them could do anything, they all died one by one.

Some soldiers jumped out of the horse and grabbed some female citizens. They ripped their clothes and r***d them. Many womens were r***d and childrens who were still drinking mothers milk were brutally murdered. After annihilating the whole city, the castle itself was the target. Nikephoros surrounded the whole castle but luckily the mother of that illegitimate child found a way to protect the baby.

Some soldiers cleared a path and found a way to escape this m******e. But the risk was too high, only few could leave.

The general who ruled that area  did not wanted to escape like a coward and face the kings army head-to head.

The women begs the general to atleast save the baby and the general accepts it.

He lets few of his close soldiers leave with the baby and take refuge in another city by lying.

The baby was taken to another city, a city where he will grow up. 

The general fought hard but couldn't defeat the mighty army of nikephoros.

Everyone in the castle was killed and  the king found out that the baby was saved and someone escaped with it during the invasion. The king did not care as the main threat, the general and the mother was killed.

The baby was a boy, he was given to an old lady living in the city. The old lady grew him up well and named him “Basil ".

Basil was very talented from the start, he went to the military at the age of 12 after his adopted parents died.

He was very powerful and mentally skilled, he grew in ranks in no time. When he was at the age of 16, he joined the special royal force. This force only consisted with young talents.

Me, john tzimiske was also part of it.

Hey blondie, your hair looks very similar to me. What is your name?

“I am basil, your highness" basil replied.

You do not have to call me with royalty, i am john tzimiske. You can just call me john, feel free to do so.

So basil, why did you join this force? Is it money or is it fame. Which is it?

It is none, i became one because i thought it was cool.

A strange guy indeed.

So can i go and train with others now?

Ahhh, come on soldier. Don't you wanna know why i joined the army? You are so lame.

That's good, finally a good question. You know we are at a war, this war is lasting for the past few centuries. There is no hope of stopping it, the situation gets worse everytime. Who suffers the most out of it?

It is the people, countless people are dying and suffering because of this wars. It has to stop, not temporarily but permanently. So i want to become someone who is known to history as the greatest general who ever lived. A great under who is strong enough to stop the king himself. I want to stop all these wars permanently. Yeah i know it sounds very unrealistic, but atleast we should try. I will try, i won't be stopping until i achieve this feat.

That sounds fun to me.

Really? People calls me dumb after everytime i say it.

No, this can be possible. We just need to climb up the ladder and get strong. We humans can achieve anything through power, power is absolute.
