Caught in Between Two Alphas

Chapter 3

I ignored the moans of the lady that was probably having the best s*x of her life right now

I laid on the cold floor under the stairs, shutting my eyes tightly, I tried to get some sleep before my big day tomorrow

...."Come home Renee, come home".....

I sprang up hitting my head on the stairs again, this is becoming a normal morning routine

I cleaned the beads of sweats that formed on my temples and I stood up from beneath the stairs

Morning came by in jiffy and I needed to make breakfast immediately before everyone wakes up and probably crush my throat for making late breakfast, today is going to be my last day in Halmoon pack and I don't plan on doing anything that will warrant any sort of punishment or mistreatment today

I made breakfast and by the time everyone woke up, the food was already set on the dining table

I proceeded to the lake, took a good old refreshing bath and returned back to the Mansion

I stepped into the living room and met Alpha Eric seated with Ashford and Emma

"Where are you coming from?" Alpha Eric asked

"I went to take my bath" I replied

"The mate claiming ceremony will take place a few hours from now, give her one of your old clothes Emma, she should at least look presentable for the event" Alpha Eric said

"What?! No Dad, I am giving her none of my clothes" Emma refused

"I said your old clothes Emma, Renee has being our servant for a very long time now, people will wag their tongues if she goes to the ceremony looking no better than rags" Alpha Eric stated and Emma mumbled grudgingly and walked away

"Emma will give you one of her clothes, wear that and make sure to get ready on time for the ceremony" Alpha Eric said and walked out

I was about to also walk away from the living room but Ashford's voice stopped me

"We need to talk" he said, moving closer to me and grabbing my hand, he dragged me to his room and locked the door

"What....what are you doing?!" I asked as he pinned me up against the wall

"We need to talk" Ashford repeated, breathing heavily this time

"Why? What's wrong?" I enquired

"What's wrong? You turned 18 today, do you not feel anything Renee, the yearning I have been enduring for six months, do you not feel it?!!!" Ashford yelled and I flinched

"Feel....feel what? What yearning are you talking about?" I asked confused

Ashford shook his head as he stared at me and he began to trudge back

"You feel nothing" He said

"Am I supposed to feel something?" I asked

"Why the hell is my wolf feeling all these when you feel nothing!!!" Ashford yelled

"I don't understand you Ashford"

"You don't need to, because whether you feel what I feel or not, it makes no difference, I am going to reject you anyway" Ashford concluded as he unlocked the door and walked out

I was beyond confused, what is wrong with him? Ashford is not a nice guy, yes, he is a player, yes but he is also not a violent guy either, he is more of a strict and stern guy that values his pride more than anything and lives by a set of laid principle he has set for himself, I have never see him go off like this nor have I ever seen him looked so bothered by something

But that doesn't matter, what matters is that before nightfall today, I would've exited the pack's territory and bid my life of slavery farewell

I walked out of Ashford's room and I bumped into Emma at the door

"I was looking for you, what the hell are you doing in my brother's room?!" Emma queried and I knew I had to come up with a quick excuse else Emma's out of control mouth will put me in trouble and that is the last thing I want for today

"I ummm...... clothes, I had washed and dried some of Ashford's clothes so I just returned them back to his room" I lied and luckily, Emma seemed to have bought the lie

"Well take this then" Emma said as she threw a flower printed gown at me

"It is much more than you will ever deserve but you have Dad to thank, today is your mate claiming ceremony and you should at least look like a human being" Emma jeered and walked off with a hiss

I raised the gown up and gave it a proper scrutinizing look, it is a knee-length gown with white background and blue flowers printed on it, it is obviously old and I doubted if it will fit me properly, I am taller than Emma and I have bigger physique than she does so it is definitely going to be a challenge to fit into this dress but I also couldn't deny that this will be the most beautiful dress I have ever worn since I became a slave for the Halmoon pack

I went to my corner, under the stairs and I struggled to wear the dress whilst in a sitting position, it really was a big struggle but I succeeded and I stood from beneath the stairs

The dress is definitely short as it went up above my thighs and my bust were almost popping out of the scoop neckline of the dress

"This is so uncomfortable" I muttered

At least I felt comfortable in my ragged gown

"Ooh look at you, you look like a human being now" Emma mocked as she walked down the stairs with Alpha Eric

"But I think the dress is too short and tight" I complained

"If you feel uncomfortable then you can sit out the Mate claiming ceremony today, you aren't actually being forced to attend" Alpha Eric said and I quickly shook my head

"No, no, I will attend" I insisted

My plan of escaping depends mainly on the mate claiming ceremony, usually when a lady that participates in the mate claiming ceremony is not claimed by any wolf, she is led to spend the night at the moon goddess's shrine praying for the goddess's blessing to help her find her mate and the moon goddess's shrine is in secluded part of the wood, closest to the boundaries of Halmoon pack territory so the plan is to spend the night at the moon goddess's shrine when no wolf comes to claim me as per Halmoon's tradition, then escaping from the moon goddess shrine and out of the pack will be a piece of cake as there is no security put in place there

It was soon time for the Mate claiming ceremony and we all proceeded to the moon goddess's shrine which was an old tree, probably the oldest tree in all of the pack's forest

The whole pack was already gathered and the ladies participating in the mate claiming ceremony were lined up in front of the tree and I stood beside them

The priestess of the moon goddess, an old woman with sparkling white long hair, began to look through all of us lined up

She got to me and stopped, she stared at me and I could feel her enchanting eyes boring into my soul

"Yours is an unfamiliar yet unique destiny" she said and walked past me

The ceremony soon began and each lady was brought out and their mates came out from the crowd to claim them

It was my turn and just from the "boo sound" I got from the crowd, I knew I had no mate here, and boy was I happy about that?! This is all working according to my plan, since I have no mate, I will be forced to spend the night here at the moon goddess's shrine and I will be able to escape easily

"She is my Mate!" A voice suddenly said from the crowd shattering my hopes and my plans

I was more surprised when I saw Ashford emerge from the crowd

"She is my Mate" he repeated "But I reject her"......
