The Alpha's Muse

The Luna, Luna Clarissa woke up to the throbbing pain in her belly. To her right was Scott, her husband, the Alpha. He was deep in sleep. She tried to stand up gently without disturbing him but the pain seemed to increase. Clarissa walked up gently, holding her rather large belly as she slowly made her way to the bathroom, holding the doors gently. Just then, she felt the liquid that trickled down her leg. Hold on, was it time? Clarissa turned to the left to still see the Alpha sleeping, itching his head. “Scott, wake up. I think it is time” She called gently, not leaving the particular spot she stood in as she held her cloth, watching the liquid drip. “Hmm” He answered not opening his eyes as he turned to the other side of the bed, sleeping even more comfortably. The pain seemed to increase even more. “Scott, wake up!” She called even louder, fear in her voice as she looked at the floor, watching the water flow. “What is it?” Still not opening his eyes, he questioned. “I think it is time. I think our baby is coming” She answered again. “Hmm” He was about to turn when it registered in his mind. “What!” His eyes widened immediately. Fear gripped him as he stood up in a hurry. Immediately, his whole mind was in disarray. He got up hurriedly, trying to get across to reach for help. Ever since it was a few months to the time she was about to deliver her child, the Alpha had ensured the midwife stayed in the royal house every day, every hour, every minute, and every second. The Luna made it worse as she was even about to cry. She was in so much pain, anger welling up in her as she watched her husband trying to find his way. ‘Is someone there?” He called as he rushed to carry her, placing her on the bed. Immediately, about four maids rushed in. Everywhere was quiet as it was in the middle of the night hence it was very easy for anyone to hear his call. As soon as they walked in, he ordered them to get the midwife. Everyone began to run to get everything ready. Time was not on their side. The Luna was about to deliver her first child hence it was no joke. Sooner than expected, everyone in the royal house has risen including Anna, the mother of the Alpha. The whole royal house has known that the Luna was about to have her child and they all began to pray for her. Safe delivery was necessary. Immediately, the midwife and her maids began to work on her, ordering everyone to leave the room. Alpha Scott could not bear it. The life of his wife was in danger. He feared even more as she was not like them. If she was a werewolf, he could have been a bit relieved as her werewolf ability could make her a bit relieved. “Be calm. She will be fine” Alpha Scott's best friend, Bryan placed his arm on Alpha Scott’s shoulder. “I hope she will. You know…” “Come on, I understand. Your blood lies in her. Your child is in her so I believe she will be fine” A calming smile played on his lips. “But it is taking so long!” “Perhaps, if she was a werewolf, it would have been a different case” Alpha Scott’s mother appeared out of the blue, walking closer to them. Alpha Scott turned behind to look at her. Even though she was quite old, it was not evident, all thanks to their nature. She was dressed in a white mid-length gown as her head was packed in a bun. She walked slowly to meet the Alpha, a sinister smile playing on her lips. Never for once had Anna hidden her hatred for Clarissa. Anna had never been in support of Clarissa and Scott’s union. She had always wanted a female wolf for her son. He had rejected his mate to be with Clarissa but this decision of him did not sit right with Anna. Alpha Scott shook his head. He had not expected his mother to come as he knew she hated Anna so much. He was about to turn in anger but Bryan was quick to hold him back. There was no need to say anything. “Why are you here?” “Come on, am I not permitted to see my son’s child?” She raised her brows. “I am not here for Clarissa but your child which is in her”. Alpha Scott paced up and down slowly as he could hear the agony of his dear wife. He tried to control the tears that threatened to fall from his eyes. Just then, the sweet melody of a violin began to play, angering Scott. No one knew where the music was coming from as it seemed to be in every corner of the room. The music became even louder. Alpha Scott tried to trace where the music was coming from when he suddenly heard the midwife's voice. “The baby is coming!” He rushed back to the door as he began to hear the cry of the baby. He smiled as he hugged Bryan. Finally, he was going to be a father. He raised his hands in appreciation to the moon goddess. A few minutes after, the midwife walked out. Although she tried to cover it with a smile, his mother could not help but notice something was wrong. “What is the matter?” Anna questioned as she raised her brows. “Are you worried because she delivered a female child? If that is, then you do not have to worry about it” Realizing the worry on the midwife's face didn’t leave, she could not help but probe further. Alpha Scott was beginning to get scared. He hoped nothing was wrong with his wife and child. “The Luna….The Luna delivered a male child” She sighed as she could not raise her head as fear was obvious in her eyes. “And? Should she not have a male child? You do not want me to have an heir? “ Anger rose in Alpha Scott. Was the midwife going against him? “Is the Luna fine?” Anna questioned as she could sense something is wrong. “Speak up immediately!” Even though Anna despised the Luna, the last thing she could wish for was her death as well as the death of their heir. Just like everyone else, she also wanted to see her son's heir, the next Alpha of their pack. “The child…..” Everyone leaned in as they wanted to hear what she had to say. “The Luna gave birth to a blind child. The heir is blind” She finally revealed, tears flowing from her eyes as she had caused it. The environment became silent at once as no one believed what had just been saying.
