Chapter three: Personality first

853 Words
LIBERTY'S P.O.V As I walked towards Fran all I could think about was how my dad always told me to never judge someone by their looks and that people that only cared about that wasn’t worth wasting my time on.  I hate it when the only compliment some people can think of is commenting on other’s looks. I mean sure of course I noticed how people look and I cared how I presented myself, but it wasn’t the first I would say to someone.  When I met someone new I always got to know them and made sure to compliment them on their personality before I even thought about commenting on their looks. I mean I wasn’t against saying nice things about how people look, I just hated when that was the first thing people said to me or others.  I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t realize that I walked straight past Fran. Not before she grabbed a hold of me and dragged me back to where she was standing, studying me.  "What’s going on?" she asked me.  Fran was really strong, even though no one knew. She was quite the opposite of tall, with golden blonde, straight hair that went to her shoulders, she had forest green eyes a defined nose, big lips, and an oval tanned skin.  She studied me with eyes that said spit out, but in a friendly way.  "You know that guy that wouldn’t stop staring during class?" I said my tone still annoyed.  Fran wasn’t a little bit affected by my tone and simply answered; "Yeah?"  I looked at her then sighed, I knew she would get it outta me anyway. Better to just get it over with.  "Well, right after class he stopped me and said ‘hey beautiful’ like objectifying people is something he does on the daily!" I worked myself up just by saying that.  I didn’t know why it affected me so much that he said that to me. Normally I would get over it in no time, but this time it was different somehow.  Fran seemed to have cached upon just that as she said;  "And it bothers you because..." her words hanging in the air, I didn’t know what to answer her.  She must be some sort of mind reader as she just lightened the air by saying  "Okay if we don’t hurry up now we’re gonna miss class"  Then she smiled and dragged me away with her. JEREMY’S P.O.V When lunch finally came I rushed to the cafeteria to get me some food. Seriously how do these humans manage to go so long without food? At this point, my whole mind was consumed with the picture of a deer beef and salad. I could practically feel my mouth watering when I saw the buffet in the cafeteria.  When I arrived I piled my two plates up with food and turned around to look for my sister.  I finally saw her sitting in a corner texting someone. I walked over to her sat down and begun to eat.  "Hey Jer," she said still texting.  "Hello to you too sis, may I get your attention?" I asked her sarcastically. I barely got a grunt out of her.  "Who are you texting anyway?" I asked out of curiosity as I started on my second plate of food.  "Umm… just my roommate," she said finally turning off her phone and directing her attention towards me.  "Soooo, tell me, how is it going with your mate?" she asked excitedly.  "Wow, buzzkill" my wolf said sarcasticly though I could hear the saddness in his tone.  "Eeehh… great!" I lied.  "You're such a bad lier. Wish you better luck next time,» she said compassionately, seeing through my lies instantly.  She then proceeded to look at me with her famous knowing look.  "What?" I finally snapped.  "Nothing, I just wondered if you know her name? Maybe I could help you?" she said kindly and smiled at me.  I did not enjoy that meal. At all. My wolf and I were frustrated. We didn’t understand our mate's behavior towards us. I sighed when I stood up to leave the cafeteria.  That was when I smelled her, my mate. I turned instantly and saw her entering the cafeteria with the same girl she sat next to in the first period.  I was paralyzed as saw her go to get food.  "Jer… are you okay?"  I turned as my sister said that.  "That’s my mate!" I answered her as I pointed towards my mate.  "Liberty?" my sister said shocked.  I turned to her; "You know her?" I asked.  "Yeah, she’s my roommate," she answered after a while.  I looked at her one more time before turning my attention to where my mate was standing. Just when I did that she turned around and her cold gaze locked with my eyes.
