LIBERTY’S P.O.V
I saw him and my gaze hardened instantly as we locked eyes. I held his gaze for a second before looking away.
I turned my attention towards Fran who was currently busy trying to place three cheeseburgers onto her plate. When she looked up at me I raised my eyebrows.
"What! A girl gotta eat!" she said acting innocent in a funny way.
I chuckled and we turned to find an empty table.
I made it a point to ignore that stupid boy from the first period. I didn’t even bother to look at him to find out how my ignoring affected him. I just really hoped that he took the hint.
But my prayers was obviously not heard as he came up to our table just when I was about to dig into my delicious salad. He stood right in front of me and Fran, looking straight at me.
"What?" I snapped at him.
When I looked up at him I thought I saw a flash of hurt in his eyes, but it was gone in an instant.
"Hey... I think we started at the wrong foot back in the first period," he said carefully.
"No s**t sherlock," I answered sarcastically, showcasing my annoyance.
The next thing I knew he leaned down and touched my hand. I could feel this weird tingling sensation where his hand touched me.
"Can’t you take a hint? Just stay away from me," I said beyond mad as I ripped my hand away from him and strode out of the cafeteria fuming with anger.
Why did he have that effect on me? Why wouldn’t he stay away? That was all I wanted. Was it so difficult for him to understand?
I didn’t even get to eat my salad. Great, now I was annoyed, mad and hungry! I knew it was a grocery store right off campus and I hurried there to get some food. Now I felt better at least.
JEREMY’S P.O.V
I just stood there. She left again. My wolf wimpered in pain.
I turned to her friend. She just chuckled.
"Are you always this dumb when you meet new people?"
I don’t know why but that ticked me off.
"What? It’s not my fault! She is the one getting mad and running away from me!"I know my eyes had darkened, but she didn’t look a bit affected.
She just raised her eyebrow.
"Are you done? You know she’s right, you should learn to take a hint. Just find another girl to bother," and with that, she turned her whole attention towards her food.
I looked up to find everyone staring at us.
"Shows over!" I said in an intimidating tone.
With that, everyone looked away and started talking again. I stormed out of the cafeteria. When I was walking across the grass field I heard someone running after me. And I turned to see Jasmine’s kind eyes.
"Are you here to rub it in, like everyone else?" I growled frustrated, feeling how my wolf wanted to take control.
"Now that isn’t fair!" she said with the same smile, but I could see it hurt her when I said that.
Seeing my sister hurting calmed me and I hugged her tight.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that," I said into her hair.
"I know brother," she said understanding.
When she pulled away she looked more serious.
"I know you’re hurting brother, but you nearly lost control around all of those humans. You need to get yourself together! The pack is depending on it."
I could tell she was serious when she looked straight into my eyes. Her brown and yellow eyes reflected my own identical ones. I took a deep breath and answered her, this time calm.
"I know."
I sighed thinking about mate.
Liberty, a very pretty name indeed.
