I'm in the middle of the woods of Yosemite National Park and I eventually make my way to the same clearing that I met Lupa for the first time. "You have done well Anastasia," Lupa said, "you've protected not only your pack, but your mate as well."
"What's happening to me?" I asked.
"After you were bitten, your body went into hybernation in order for it to heal."
"So I'm not dead?"
"Far from it, you're simply in a deep sleep so that your body can recover from the trauma that it endured."
"How long will that take?"
"As long as it takes, but I will warn you, the bites will leave very light scars and they will be painful during the full moon."
"But what will happen once I wake up?"
"I'm naming you my successor," Lupa answered with pride, "not only will you be the alpha of the hell pack, you will also be the godless and alpha of all wolves."
"Why me?" I asked, "I mean no disrespect, but how do you know that I'm ready to take on this responsibility?"
"Not only did you protect your pack, but you also protected your mate without hesitation. You're a true leader, Anastasia, and you don't take your gifts for granted. By fighting off the rabids, you've proven not only your maturity, but also your determination to protect those you care about and for that you have earned your rightful place as my successor." With that, Lupa gave one more triumphant howl and disappeared. Seconds later, a warmth like a hot bath was spreading throughout my entire body and soon my whole body felt like a live electrical wire and before I knew what was happening, I was shifting and I could hear very faint voices, but I couldn't make out what they were saying. I let out a rumbling howl that shook the whole forest and next thing I knew, I had shifted back to my human form and everything started to shift in and out of focus and eventually, everything faded to black once more.
