Jessica was stunned.
After a long time, she returned to her senses and pulled her hand out, saying, "What nonsense are you talking about? You have a girlfriend now."
"I didn't..."
Chris suddenly realized who she was referring to and said, "Are you referring to Gail? There is nothing between us."
She shook her head and looked at him as if he were a stranger, saying, "You've had s*x. How could you say there is nothing between you? Are you playing with Gail's feelings? When did you become such a person? She is my best friend."
He helplessly explained, "I did not have s*x with her. She was chasing after me, but I did not accept her. I was drunk yesterday. But she took me to her apartment. I swear I have never touched her."
"Gail said you are her boyfriend."
"That's her wishful thinking."
Jessica remained silent momentarily and said, "But she likes you."
He frowned, "Do you plan to give me up to her?"
She said with a self-mocking smile, "How can I give you up to her? We've long broken up, right?"
He suddenly stretched out his arms, pulled her into his arms, and said, "We can start over."
Through the thin clothes, she could feel his body temperature and smell his body fragrance like sunshine. He was so good that she had a sense of inferiority.
Jessica closed her eyes in pain and said, "It's too late!"
Since she had gotten drunk and quickly lost her virginity to a stranger, she was no longer worthy of him.
It was too late.
Jessica couldn't help thinking of Howard's perfect but hateful face. When she stretched out to push Chris away, he refused to let go, tightened his grip on her waist to make them close together, and said, "It's not late!"
Suddenly, a dazzling Rolls-Royce stopped in front of them. And the wheels almost brushed Chris's trousers. He was so shocked that he immediately let go of Jessica.
When the car window went down, she surprisedly saw Howard's impeccable face.
His sharp eyes coldly swept across Chris before he stared at Jessica and said, "Get in the car!"
Jessica was stunned to see him, wondering why he had suddenly appeared.
But he had come at the right time.
She opened the car door without hesitation and got in. She couldn't be entangled with Chris any longer. Otherwise, she would be swayed.
"Jess, don't go!"
Chris wanted to stop her, but she quickly closed the car door. The car instantly sped away, spraying smoke all over his face.
Through the rearview mirror, Jessica saw him chasing after the car. But Howard drove too fast, so she could no longer see Chris. Suddenly, she felt empty, thinking it was over.
When she had dated her teacher, everyone had blamed them. And Chris had paid a heavy price. He had lost his teaching qualification. And his mother had died of anger. Therefore, they broke up, although they had been deeply in love. Moreover, Robert had been pursuing her back then. When she thought about those things, she suspected Robert had played many dirty tricks to make them break up.
Howard expressionlessly held the steering wheel and calmly said in a muffled voice, "You have quite a few men."
Jessica was immersed in the sadness of the past. Hearing his words, she instantly flew into a rage and turned to glare at him, thinking he was mean.
But she also had a sharp tongue and said, "Yes. And you are one of them."
He angrily laughed, "You pissed me off!"
Suddenly, he stretched out his long arm, pulled her into his arms, and let her sit on his lap.
"What are you doing? You are driving a car!"
She was shocked and wanted to break free. But he pinned her hands on the steering wheel, let go, and stepped on the accelerator.
The car suddenly accelerated and shot forward, but the steering wheel was in her hands. She could only tightly hold it. When she tried to slam on the brakes, he clamped her legs with his, making her unable to move.
She couldn't struggle and didn't dare to do it either. If she weren't careful enough, they would have a car accident at any time.
"Why? Are you scared?"
Howard clasped Jessica's waist with both hands and leaned over to press himself against her from behind. When his cold lips gently rubbed against her slender white neck, he asked, "Were you bold just now?"
"Stop it."
She suddenly felt an electric current running through her body from her neck to her toes, causing her hands holding the steering wheel to tremble uncontrollably.
Seeing her reaction, he said with satisfaction, "Are you a divorced woman for real? Why do you look so inexperienced? Are you still pretending?"
Jessica angrily laughed, "Whatever you think."
She didn't bother to explain. But he suddenly took the red divorce certificate out of a drawer.
Sure enough, she had left it in his car that night.
He opened the divorce certificate and lazily said, "Look at the date of your divorce! You almost made me an adulterer."
She had gotten a divorce during the day and had s*x with him in the car at night a few hours later.
Jessica speechlessly said, "I don't understand what you mean."
She didn't want to recall the drunken farce that night.
Howard was not annoyed but said, "Your ex-husband looks not bad. Why did you divorce him?"
"It's none of your business."
She didn't want to talk about Robert.
Howard raised an eyebrow and asked, "Is it because of the man just now?"
Jessica changed her indifferent attitude and flatly denied, "No."
She thought of Chris's bruised face. Robert had beaten him hard. He was a gentle and good-looking man who should not have been hurt.
Howard narrowed his dark eyes and asked, "Are you thinking about him?"
While speaking, he put more forth in his foot on the accelerator.
Jessica screamed when the car suddenly accelerated. And the inertia pushed her backward and made her lean against his chest.
Through the thin clothes, she could feel his body temperature. Unlike that of Chris, it was scalding hot. Her back instantly felt the burning temperature when they tightly pressed against each other.
Her hands trembled more violently. And she almost lost control of the steering wheel.
"You thought about another man when sitting on my lap. You were courting death."
He suddenly tightened his grip on her waist with a dangerous cold light flashing in his sharp eyes.
She felt he had almost snapped her waist, so she gasped in pain. But she did not dare to argue with him because he was crazy. So, she swallowed back the curses on the tip of her tongue.
Seeing her hold her tongue with pent-up anger, Howard smiled in satisfaction. He rested his chin on her shoulder, looked ahead, raised his hand, and pointed forward, saying, "Did you see the man in front? Hit him to death."
