Now What Alpha

Liam’s POV

I wake up before the other boys go gather everything up take a quick shower.  After, sleeping on it I have come up with a plan, I just need Aaron on board with me.  I get out of the shower to find the boys still asleep so I decide to go get breakfast and coffee, hopefully the boys have gotten up and are showering so we can get headed out.  I get back to the room in time to see Alex exit the shower and Aaron headed in.  I set the coffee and food down saying boys I have an idea when you get done cleaning up.  I will tell you what I have decided to do, and I think it is something that everyone will agree with.  The boys both look at me and say we will do whatever you decide Alpha.   After everyone has showered and we eat the food I have gotten.  I start by saying boys I am sorry I wasted your time coming out here, but I do not think the whole trip was not a bust.  I think we got so very viable intel, but still I was hoping for a much better outcome.  I think it would best be served if we were to go home gather more intel and decide what to do from there.  Aaron I would like you to come with me and start a team that’s soul goal is to find my little angel.  I would like you to bring your wife and sister-in-law to my pack territory.  Alex, I want you to call your wife make to arrangements for Aaron, his wife, and his sister-in-law in the pack house so I can help protect them from everyone until we find an end to this. 

Alex says, “are you sure Alpha people are going to question you discussion about bring outsiders to the pack house.”

I look at Alex and say, “are people questioning me or are you questioning my discussions, the reason I want him close is so I can watch him.  Did you think maybe this might have been his plan the whole time to drag us out here to get us off her trail.  I need to keep him close to make sure he is not helping her.  He has already pledged his allegiance to her, or did you forget that part.  Do you not remember when Richard tried to trick us by giving us false information about his son after their last attack on us.”

Alex stood there then his eyes got big as he realized we might be being played.  Then he becomes mad says, “he must stay close we must watch what he does.  He needs to be in the pack house that way he will have more eyes on him at all times.  Sam’s wife could be in contact with him as well.  I see where you are going with this Alpha.”

I look to Aaron with a small smile and I nod so he understands that is not what I believe but I just had to give some reason to Alex that would make sense to him, as to who he thinks I am the killer that he knows.  What Alex does not understand or anyone else for that matter is that I feel myself changing and I cannot explain what is going on.

Aaron sees what I am doing and decided to play along, “I will find her just to prove to you that I am not helping her.  I will show you all that I am just trying to get her to you safely and find my brother for his wife.  He has a baby on the way and needs to come home.”

I see that Aaron understands what I am doing so I say, “lets head out to get home and get everything done.  Call Ron and have the girls sent to the territory.  Call Steph and tell her to get two rooms ready on the third floor so we can watch them easier do you agree old friend.”

He says, “of course Alpha whatever you wish.”

“Now let’s get headed home we have 2029 miles to go before we can rest so no stopping again taking turns driving.  As we walk out the door the little wolf comes to find us saying good, I got you before you left.  I just wanted to let you know I heard back from her, which never happens.  So, listen when I say, she needs some time to recover there has been some kind of accident and she needs to heal.  If you can give her that she will tell you where you can find her.”

I instantly become mad when I find out that she has been hurt.  I want to know what has happened who has hurt her because they need to die.  Then she hands me a piece of paper, on the paper is the email that we got from her which, reads:

Dear little Lacey,

        I hope they did not hurt you or tear anything up to badly.  I need to ask you a favor my little love.  Will you tell those men that I need a little break I have been hurt by no one other than myself.  I need a few days to recover from my injuries.  They are going to ask what happened all they need to know is that I have been exposed to much light and am missing roughly 85% of my skin.  I need to regrow the skin which will take time and not allow me to move around like I usually would to lose them.  If this is Liam and Aaron, I would like to hope that they understand that the pain I will be in from running will cause me not only pain but could give me an infection that I may not heal from.  I hope that they want me alive and not dead.  So, they will give me the time I need to recover I will give them a location to come and meet me.  Maybe together we can come to some conclusion as to what everyone wants.   If you are there, I did this to myself no on hurt me please do not go on a killing spree.  I just had to get away the sun rose to fast and no I am not suffering.  Please do not hurt Lacey she is just the messenger she is only doing what I have asked of her.  Please let her live-in peace I plan to speak to you very soon.

I look at the guys and say nothing is changing we are going to follow the plan as I have laid it out.  Thank you, Lacey we will leave, you in peace not causing you anymore trouble.  I continue to my SUV not stopping to talk this over with the boys.  When Alex says, “Alpha do you want to talk about this letter. “

I say, “no, I am going home my pack needs me now, I have lived this long without a Luna.  I will be fine for a few more days.  Now let’s get on the road.”

We drive for the next 34 hours only stopping for gas.  When getting gas, I would allow the boys out to get food and walk around that is also when we changed drivers as well.  I was the one driving when we pulled up to Wolf Point seeing my home and the forest, I grow up in made me feel good until I realized I would be sleeping alone again.   We head straight to the pack house to be greeted by Max, Steph, a tall brunette, and a very pregnant lady along with the rest of the pack.     The two I do not know I am guess they are Sam and Aaron’s wives.  I just hope no one has been that mean to them.  I exit the SUV to have Max run up and say please tell me you are home for a while I cannot do the Alpha thing anymore.  I tell him I want a shower and something to eat after that I will meet him in my office where you can give me a full report of what has happened while I was away.  I look at the other two and say I will see you both tomorrow first thing to come up with a plan as to what to do next.  I walk past everyone else without saying a word.  Someone in the crowd asked where is the Luna he went to get.  I let out a loud growl and turned shapely narrowing my eyes at the crowd everyone coward no one saying a work.  I turned again heading inside this time without being stopped.  Steph ran to Alex jumped into his arms kissing all over his face, Aaron’s wife ran to him and done the same thing a well.  Sam’s wife waddled to Aaron scared but was still wrapped in Aaron’s embrace.

 I walk slowly up to my room I call to the kitchen give my order and get in the shower.  Lonely again will I ever have someone in bed?  I can fill it with random women, but I want one special woman like everyone else.  How do I get that through to her?  I stand in the shower not ready to get out and enter my empty bedroom again.

Alex’s POV

I set in the SUV on my way back wondering what is wrong with my Alpha.  He was to quick to want to come back home without following the email form the Dr.  What has happened to my Alpha?  We pull over to fuel up I step out of the back and head in with Aaron as we get inside, I pull him to the side.  I look at him and say, “we need to talk.  The Alpha is not handling the lack of a Luna very well.  I need you to be honest with me can you get in contact with the Luna?  If so, you need to tell her the Alpha will not last long without her, she needs to come home now she can heal at the pack house.  Liam will get the best Drs to help her, she just has to come back to him.  Better yet she needs to meet him, she owes him that.”

Aaron says, “you i***t you realize he does not think I am trying to take him off track.  I really want my queen to be happy and I want my brother home with his wife.  I have been thinking of ways to try and get her here anyways.  I am hoping that she really does respond to the email.  I want to go meet her and find out what is really going on, but part of me says something is wrong.  I would like you to help keep a close eye on Liam for a while and see if anyone is watching him. Everything is just not adding up to me.”

We go back out climb into the SUV finish the drive home.  When we get their Max whins about being in charge.  I watch the Alpha look at Max roll his eyes and say I'm going to go eat something and then after my shower.  I will come and get a full report from you.  The next thing I know the Alpha turns to look at Aaron and I then, says I want you two to go rest with your families and meet with me first thing in the morning.  Tomorrow we will discuss what we're going to do with the little doctor.  What our next plans are to find her location and if we believe or ignore the note that she left.  Aaron looks at me with a look that I know means that no one really believes that the note was from the little doctor.  I see the sadness in my friend I've no idea what I can do to help him I have to believe that this email that we received is really from the little doctor.  That she truly believes that Liam is her mate and that she truly wants to see him.  I have to believe out there somewhere is it last little girl only looking for the big bad Wolf to save her. If it is not her then who else would benefit from sending this message to Liam? What would anyone gain from putting him through this torture? Is the little doctor really safe or is she out there in danger from someone we don't even know about yet? These are questions that I know Liam is going to want answered before he allows us to go any further. It looks like I'm going to have to work with someone that I'm not sure if is it an enemy or a friend and if he isn't the enemy who really is?  What is this unknown enemy really after? As I'm here in my own train of thought I hear a loud growl.  Turn just in time to hear someone ask where the Luna is, and I see Liam react as violently as expected from everyone.  He doesn't say a word he just looks out into the crowd ready to attack anyone who says anything else.  Not having the Luna here is really going to put a strain on everyone we're all going to have to walk and live on eggshells, until we can get her here to help calm the beast inside of the Alpha.
