Prologue: Our Tale Thus Far
In our world, the events transcribed are nothing but fiction. Yet for those in this tale tale, it is a terrible reality. The year is 1634. Japan and Korea have been at war for well over forty years in the bloodiest conflict the world has known. It started when the Japanese attempted to invade Korea and were driven back by a single man, known as Gotong-ui Byeol. The man had simply walked forward and raised his hand, and a moat of shimmering purple flames incinerated. hundreds.
From there, the Koreans invaded Japan with Gotong-ui Byeol as their ultimate weapon. But the star was still a man and, as such could be wounded and killed, and such happened when the emperor released a dragon upon the battlefield and Gotong-ui engaged the dragon. The dragon dried to drown Gotong-ui bit the man froze the water into green ice. Gotong-ui attempted to crush the dragon with red winds, and the dragon simply roared and dispersed the vacuum. Gotong-ui was swallowed and used black water to force the dragon's mouth open. Every time the dragon attempted to swallow Gotong-ui from there on out, purple pillars of stone rose to bash her away.
The two combatants fought for days and event slaughtered each other but the dragons immortal soul lived on and Gotong-ui lived just long enough to pass on five fragments of his powers to the five greatest warriors in the Korean army and passed on, known from then on as Sungyohan Byeol-ui Yeonghon, leaving the war raging on. It has been nineteen years since that battle, and neither side has yielded, leading to near constant battles.
And our story begins in one such battle.
