CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE Audrey did not want any fanfare. As soon as her consultant told her that she could leave hospital and go home to plenty of rest, she sought out the clothes that Tina had brought weeks ago, before the fire, and carefully put on a lightweight dress. Her skin still felt tender, but she was healing well, and her broken arm was now in a supportive bandage. Audrey went to the hospital shop and bought a pack of envelopes, using a second replacement debit card delivered by the bank a few days earlier. On her way back to the side ward, she removed her maximum daily allowance from the hospital ATM.
