Monitors just came back from the woods and they asked us if we found out a name for our team. We decided to choose “the invincible hunters”. That’s not the most amazing name but we did our best. Finding a team name has always been such a pain for me. Apparently I am not the only one in this case! Every team finally came up with their name.
“That’s officially the start of this scavenger hunt. As a first clue, you need to go and watch… what’s on the table.”
At the end of what Sandra said, everyone hurries and runs at the table. The problem is that there are like five tables with lots of things on them. Every team picks one and searches for a parchment with an enigma. From what I am hearing, everyone has a parchment with a different enigma. I guess that each one is going to lead us in a way though we don’t know for sure that it’s the good one! That’s clever of them! It will cut everyone off, so we won’t be able to cheat.
Our first clue is telling us to find the dolphin. Which is quite absurd because we are searching the forest, not the sea! We don’t even know what it means though it was the only clue on the parchment so I guess that we just have to go into the forest and do our best.
After a few seconds, we have found out that there were animals printed on the trees. Therefore, we look through all of them and try to find the one that we are searching for. I have quite a good memory. It should be quite helpful here, as I am monitoring everything. I have seen a rabbit, a cat, a ladybug, and so many others animals. The first time we saw a jar with a firefly in it, it was magnificent. This insect is quite popular here. Some inhabitants even call the city “The Firefly”. Yet for all of us, it was the first time in two weeks that we were seeing a real firefly. It is actually normal when you think about it. We have a curfew so every time it was almost impossible to see them. The sun was too bright and it shines even in the evening. We are apparently very lucky on our last day! We could have missed them.
We are still walking in order to find our animal. I have no clue of what time it is. I would say that we have been probably walking for fifteen minutes. Yes, it sounds fair to me. I turn my head just to see if anything important is there and I can see something hanging on a tree. A sheet of paper.
“Hold on guys, there is something there. I am just going to see if it could help us” I tell them.
I run towards the tree in question and that’s our dolphin! I yell “dolphin” to my group and everyone’s face illuminates. They are all grinning and saying “at last!”. Now, we can really start and enjoy! A few seconds later, we spot the jar and start to search efficiently. As we are quite a big group, the parchment was found very quickly.
I am not going to describe every step. It would annoy you and myself too. The purpose is always the same. Find an animal, the jar then the parchment and you have to repeat it until you win.
You could think that it is not going to last long though it is interminable. Especially if we haven’t chosen the good table at first. Nevertheless, I am quite confident. We saw a great deal of groups coming back at the first place because their lead wasn’t the good one. It has not been the case for us. When they were asking about where we were in the competition, we lied by saying that we came back to the table twice. Yes, I know, it’s not good but we want to win! This is a competition. It is almost in the rules to lie. If we hadn’t, they would be in our surroundings, listening to us and trying to surpass us.
I can feel that we are at the end of it, or at least, I hope so. We have spent so many hours in the forest and we are all feeling shattered.
