Chapter 24: Justice

When Azrael and I arrived at the meeting place, Madison immediately showered me with questions.

"Oh my gosh, Ainsley, I heard what happened at the station. How did you do that? I mean, you are the bridge? That is a cool thing, how did you use your ability? And you met Gabriel? Seriously? The archangel, Gabriel? The messenger of god? Is he handsome? What does he look like? Ainsley, answer meee! ", she asked one after another.

Elinora scolded her because she had too many questions. Elinora may felt that I am uneasy about the topic. I should thank her for that though.

"First of all, yes, I am the bridge. Secondly, I used my ability unknowingly. I summoned some angels and demons without my knowledge. Third, yes I met Gabriel and at first I was surprised when I found out who he was but later on, I just felt like he was just like us, a human ", I answered Madison's questions.

"But with more power than us, obviously", Elinora added which I just nodded. Well, she's right, Gabriel is so powerful than us because he is an archangel.

"But Ainsley, how about the murderer of your parents?", Bliant asked me while pushing his own wheelchair to me.

I approached him personally so that he would not be hard for him anymore. "Luckily, Azrael stopped me before I killed him", I replied and sat beside him.

"It is so impulsive", Azrael hissed and walk near me. "Jayden and Mason will be here in any minute. Jayden said he will help you find some evidence that will link your chief to the death of your parents", he told me while putting his phone back to his pocket. He maybe called them back here and told them about what happened. I am very sure, Jayden will scold me after he got here.

Everyone became focus on what they are doing before while I just locked myself in one of the spare room. I want to practice my ability.

I decided to get some leaf, a book and a stone to test if I can levitate them.

I assembled them according to their weight and focus my thoughts on it. Please levitate, please levitate.

I irritatedly stared at the things in front of me when they didn't even tried to move a little. They are so choosy. I just want them to feel the air and fly.

I stared at the stone as if it is the greatest demon on earth and I want to crush it into pieces.

Oh my freaking god! D-did it just break into pieces?! I did it. I did crush it!

I repeated what I just did but somehow focused on the book and imagined it flipping into its own and it surely did. This is so cool. I just learned telekinesis!

Later that night, Jayden and I went to the police station. What I said was right, after Jayden got into the house, he found me on the room practicing my ability and scolded me like my own mother did.

I am on the night shift so they didn't question me of what I am doing there.

"Hey, Jayden, you'll help Ainsley again?", asked by a colleague of ours and Jayden just faked his laugh and nodded.

"Yep, it might cause me trouble again if I didn't", he replied and looked at me. He was certainly telling me about what happened earlier here. "By the way, be careful on your way home", he added and we bid our goodbyes to him.

"Is there a hidden camera on the chief's office?", I asked Jayden while we are trying to unlocked the chief's office.

"Yes, there is. But Azrael already malfunction it. It may last for weeks before they can actually repair it so, we are safe", Jayden answered.

I stopped Jayden from what he is doing since I remembered that the investigation unit may find traces if we unlock it using a card. I tried to use my telekinesis ability to unlock the door.

I closed my eyes and imagined the door being unlocked and when I opened it, it certainly did.

Jayden couldn't believe his eyes. "Whoa, you got a serious ability enhancement there", he said before he entered the room.

I smiled at him. "Well, thanks for the compliment."

As we entered the room, we started to search for any useful things that may be connected to my parents death. From the small files to the bigger ones on the deep part of the shelves but just couldn't find any single thing.

"Someone's coming", Jayden suddenly said and pulled me into him.

I was confused for a moment. "What are you doing?", I asked him but he just shush me out.

The chief suddenly entered the room. Thankfully, we locked it when we entered and so, he didn't notice that someone entered his office.

How the hell the chief couldn't even see us when we are just right into his front? Is this some kind of a protection spell that Azrael did?

The chief pulled the small angel statue on his desk up and suddenly, the shelf started to cut in half and made an entrance.

There is a hidden room in there? How could we not noticed it? And why does the chief had a hidden room in his own office?

He entered the room and the shelf began to go back to its normal state.

I looked at Jayden when I noticed that we are now far away from the chief and I assure that he couldn't hear our conversation.

"Did you see that?", I whispered at him but he just nodded.

"Yes, I did so now shut up, he may hear us", Jayden whispered back at me.

I shook my head. "I am certainly sure at this moment he cannot. I noticed that the room he entered is soundproofed", I told him.

His eyes started to bewildered. "Wait, how did you know that?", he asked me.

"I love reading about houses and internal design stuffs between my work so that's why", I answered him. "But, did Azrael told you that we can be invisible?", I asked him.

He just chuckled at me. "Actually, that is my ability. I am shocked you don't even know", he answered that widen my eyes.

"You can be invisible?", I asked for assurance.

He just shrugged his shoulders and sat on a chair.

"I didn't see you use your ability", I told him and sat beside him.

"Well, you aren't anywhere to be seen when I use it. For example, our case with the Bloody Mary? I actually use it when we fought that spirit but it doesn't seemed to work out, obviously", he explained reminiscing my very first official case with them.

"Yeah, you was caught up and became her victim", I jokingly added that made him gave me a death stare.

Seconds later, the shelf started to move again. Jayden pulled me into him and uses his ability.

The chief look everywhere before he stepped out of the shelf. He seems to have something in his hands. It is like a stone but it is glowing. He started to walk away and locked the office before he went out.

I parted with Jayden and assured that the chief already went out of the station.

"Did you see what is in his hands?", he asked me while trying to open the shelf like what the chief did.

I walk near him. "Yeah, it was like a glowing stone", I answered.

He went straight to the path between the shelves and I just did the same. As we entered, we saw a narrow hallway with some lights to see.

I pulled back the lever in front of us and the shelf was back from where it is before.

"Where should we go?", Jayden asked me.

"Let's start from the right", I said and walk directly to the right hallway.

We walk straight but we only saw shelves full of gemstones and some ancient weapons.

"Dead end", Jayden said and walk away again but I prevented him from coming back.

"It's the glowing stone he was holding", I said to Jayden while pointing at the various glowing gemstones on the shelf.

Jayden approached me and examined the stones I was pointing at. "Yeah, but why does it look like a simple rock that glows?", Jayden asked me but I just shrugged my shoulders. I don’t even know why.

"Get one gemstone each then let us show these to Azrael. Maybe he knows something about these things ", I replied while taking the stones and putting them in my pocket. Thankfully, they are small and they fit in my pants' pocket.

We went back to the place we first started but we walk straight to the left path. Every time we walk near to the end of the path, I felt a much greater kind of energy. Unlike the demons I sense, this is more likely a lighter feeling. I sense the feelings of joy, freedom and good.

"Do you also felt what I was feeling?", I asked Jayden but he just shook his head. What? So it means, I am just the only one who can sense it?

When we got to the end of the path, our attention was immediately drawn to a man who was chained and looking so weak.

"An angel?", Jayden asked in surprise.

I wasted no more time and started to remove the chain that was attached to him. He seemed to be so weak and any moment may passed out.

"Jayden! Snapped out of it, we need to get him out of here ”, I told Jayden who still couldn’t believe what he just saw.

Jayden was startled but managed to do what I said.

He helped me carry the angel and walk out of the hidden room.

When we left the room, we immediately met the chief who was just smiling at us.

"So, that's why there seems to be something strange in my office. Someone is interfering my business", he told us and took a gun and pointed it at me. I immediately noticed the usb hanging on the his I.D. He always carries it everywhere. Is there something special about it?

I just smirked at him. "All right, shoot me", I told him that made him confused.

I focused my eyes onto the gun and controlled his hands. I pointed the gun at him himself which startled him. Scared huh?

"H-how did you?", he asked anxiously while looking at me. You aren't the most powerful person ever.

I was about to shoot him when I heard someone say my name.

"Ainsley", I heard a familiar voice whisper to my right.

I looked at him and I just rolled my eyes. "Okay, okay", I said and stopped controlling the chief's hand. This man is really so great at timing.

Azrael wiped away his memory and look back at us. "What is that?", he asked us as he pointed to the angel Jayden and I were carrying with.

"Isn't it obvious? You, lift him. I will just get something off to this murderer", I said and let Azrael lift the weak angel. I immediately took the usb that was in the I.D. of the chief. There must be something fishy about this usb since I always see him with this everytime. Is it the evidence we are looking for?

"Okay, let's go back home."
