Chapter 33: Hypnotized

I woke up in a very white place. Am I already in heaven?

"No, you are not." I heard the familiar man answer. I turned to him and saw him just entering the room.

I stared at the devices attached to me. "What just happened? Why am I in the hospital?", I asked Azrael.

He first puts down the foods he bought on the table next to me before he answer. "You don't remember what happened?", he asked me but I just shook my head. If I know about it then why I should ask him?

I saw Azrael rolled his eyes at me. Maybe he read my mind again.

I touched the right part of my neck. "Did someone bite me? A vampire?", I asked in astonishment.

Azrael just shook his head at me. "It was me. You don't really remember anything?", he asked again.

I struggled to remember what had happened. It was like a memory deletion. But then I remembered about the very latest thing I did. "Wait, you mean you did this to me because of the red moon?", I asked him.

He nodded with relief. "I thought you did not remember. Sorry for that bite. Eat first. This is as an apology gift", he said and brought the table to me and arranged the food in front of me.

I just let him serve me. If I stop him he will just feel more guilty about what he did.

I am still confused why I don't remember how did I get the bite. All I remember is I saw Elinora and I went back to the cliff wherein I didn’t see Azrael anywhere and that stopped there. The next thing I knew, I was already here.

"Stop thinking about it. Maybe you just had trauma because of what happened", Azrael said and handed me the spoon and fork.

I smiled at him. "Thank you for the food", I said.

"Nah, you shouldn't. Just be healthy for now", he said and watch me eat.

Eventhough it was really awkward for me when someone stares at me when I am eating but I somehow felt great when he was here. I don't know why but I felt safe even his secret is very dangerous.

I was finishing my meal when we heard a knock on the door.

Azrael stood up and opened the door. Our colleagues went out there but I noticed Elinora more who was like she is confused by what was happening.

She looked at me and was shocked when she saw me. "What happened to you, Ainsley?", she asked me.

Jayden and Mason unloaded the fruits they had bought while Bliant approached me and touch my wound to see if he could cure me.

Madison's eyebrows rose when she heard Elinora's question to me. "We told you earlier that someone attacked her", she said.

Elinora shook her head. "Really? I don't remember anything", she told her.

Azrael and I looked at each other and I knew we were just thinking the same thing.

Someone is playing with our memories.

"Ainsley's wound was too deep. If the first layer was healed, I can heal her fully", Bliant said.

I just nodded at him. Bliant's ability have its limits so it was only acceptable that he can't heal me fully yet.

"Elinora, how much do you remember?", Azrael asked her.

Elinora first sat down next to Mason and Jayden who were busy with their food that should have been for me. These guys, do they know that I am the one who's hospitalized here?

"Until Elvis' nanny called me that Elvis was in the hospital because he was in pain then I went out of the main station building and then the next thing I knew , I was already in the taxi with them", Elinora explained at length.

The eyes of those with us widened. "You didn't remember anything from the past two days?", Mason asked as Elinora nodded.

After that conversation they all decided to go home. They said that Azrael would take care of me first but I insist that I can already handle it. And one more thing, Azrael has other tasks to do.

I took the grapes placed in the basket and ate it. Thankfully, it is seedless.

As I was eating, I heard the doorknob turned.

"Who is that?", I asked confusedly.

A man I didn’t know came in, but he somehow looked familiar. "Who are you?", I asked.

He closed the door and locked it. "You actually know me, Ainsley", he said to me as he approached.

"Look into my eyes, you'll remember."

I don't know why but I did what he just said. I look at his blue eyes. It was so peaceful and I felt like it makes me drown in my thoughts.

I didn't know that he was now in front of me. How did he ended up there?

He started caressing my hair and lift my chin and make me stare at him more. "Now, do you remember me?", he asked me.

Memories keep coming into my head as if I really did it. My heart keeps telling me it wasn't me but my mind felt like it was part of me until I was succumbed into a complete darkness.

Third Person's POV

"Ainsley, do you remember me?", the man asked while caressing Ainsley's hair. Ainsley just slowly nodded at him.

"Zepar", Ainsley whispered softly.

Zepar smiled at her. "And what are we?", he leaned and whispered into her ears.

"You're my husband", she answered.

"That's right", and he claim her lips.

Ainsley responds without knowing what was truly is happening. She is now drown into Zepar's hypnotism and was now acting like Zepar's true wife.

Zepar stared into Ainsley's eye lovingly. "You are now mine."

"Ainsley, I left my wallet there—"

Azrael stopped when he saw Ainsley kissing another man. He was about to go back when he learned that the man was familiar to him.

"Zepar", he said angrily and grabbed his collar.

Zepar looked at him and smirked. "Woah, the angel of death is here", he said while looking at Ainsley. "Do you know him?", he asked her.

Ainsley shook her head. "Who is he, love?", she asked Zepar while hugging him.

Azrael's jaw dropped. "What did you do to her?!", he shouted at the man's face.

Zepar removed Azrael's hands off him. "I am just taking what's mine."

"She is not yours", Azrael answered firmly.

Zepar chuckled. "Really? Should we ask her?" He turned to Ainsley who is just busy staring at her fake husband. "Ainsley, to whom do you want go go?"

Ainsley pointed at Zepar. "Of course, I want you", she said and immediately kiss him.

Azrael only looked at them with full of anger and jealousy. "You hypnotized her!"

Zepar glared at Azrael. "I am just bringing back what I truly have!"

"You already know Dionne is dead. She isn't Ainsley!"

Ainsley look at Azrael carefully. "But I am Dionne. I was reincarnated", she said softly to Azrael which made him more furious.

"No, you aren't. That wasn't part of your memory. You are Ainsley", Azrael said to Ainsley while staring at her.

Zepar only smirked at Azrael. "Whatever you do, she is mine. You also mistaken her as Sibylla, aren't you?", he teased Azrael.

Azrael glared at him and punch his face. "Stop hypnotizing her."

Ainsley was taken aback by what's happening. The two guys fought each other. Angel versus angel and no one seems to want to lose.

She is now confused why her love was fighting to another man who claimed her to be Ainsley. 'Who is Ainsley?', this is the question she is now asking herself until she felt a sudden pain in her head.

"A-Ahhhh!", Ainsley shouted in pain. "S-Stop!"

The two guys look at Ainsley worriedly. "She is trying to fight it. Zepar, just make it stop already", Azrael ordered Zepar but the man just doesn't seem to do it.

"She is going to die if you didn't stop it!"

Ainsley's shout echoed in whole room. Zepar doesn't have any choice but to remove Ainsley's hypnotism. He realized that this girl isn't really the woman he loved before. That woman was already been dead ages ago. If Ainsley is really the Dionne he knew, she wouldn't resist the memories he shared with him. It just proved that Ainsley really doesn't have anything similar to Dionne.

Ainsley collapsed into the ground. Azrael lifted her and placed her in her bed.

Zepar chuckled by Azrael's acts. "You like her don't you?", he asked him.

Azrael only look at him like he was telling the very impossible statement ever. "How would I?"

"You are obvious", Zepar answered.

The man stared at Ainsley one last time. "You really aren't Dionne", he whispered to himself.

Zepar caressed Ainsley's hair and put something onto her. Thankfully, Azrael didn't noticed anything.

"I need to go", Zepar told Azrael.

The angel of death only nodded at him. "I'll leave my gift to you", he said to Azrael before he left.

Azrael only look at him confused but he just didn't matter it. Little did he knew, Zepar's gift will make his life become more confusing and different.
