Chapter 32: Red Moon

A woman smiled at me and pointed at the storage room. "You must be looking for something in there", she said.

I can hardly answer answer her. This whole place is actually full of angels and I just couldn't believe it. My mind is still blank from the huge shock. To think that there were so many angels who I didn't even know before truly existed made me felt like this world was really so peculiar.

A man from the distance chuckled. "You will get used to it. There's actually too many of us and some are just hiding or disguising as a human", he said.

Another man added beside him, "Maybe you were already passing by to some of them on the streets."

I awkwardly nod at them. Do they are really this talkative?

I immediately went to the storage room and get the bag of confiscated locks and chains of Mr. Gregorio.

"What will you do with that?", the man securing the storage room asked me.

I need to think of something fast.

I look at him straight and fake my smile. "We have a case and we need this to catch the demon", I lied.

He seemed to be confused for a second but thankfully, he decided to let me go.

When I came out of the building I immediately saw Azrael waiting for me. "I already got it, where do you want to be chained?", I asked him.

He thought it deeply. "We can not go to the meeting place, they might probably know about it", he said.

"Yeah, and also we can't go to my house because my vision of you was there", I added.

I looked at him when I saw he was too serious to think of a place to tie him up. A powerful angel wanting to tie himself so he couldn't hurt the others is so unique. If only he just asked Lucifer or Gushion for help and doesn't made his pride become more prominent.

"You know I can hear your thoughts, right?", he glared at me but I just smirked at him.

"Then don't try to listen to them. What I said was just the truth. We wouldn't have so many things to think if you just let those two help you. Do you even know the word 'forgiveness'?", I scolded him but he seems to not listen to me.

"How about the cliff?", he asked me to changed the topic but only made me raised my eyebrow.

I sighed. He was also scared of knowing the truth because what I just said was right. He doesn't know how and when to forgive people.

I rolled my eyes at him and just let him changed the topic. "Seriously? The cliff? You mean the place where I was tied up before? Do you want to die already?", I answered him and question him back.

He nodded. "It seems to be the best option. If I tried to untied myself then I will fall into the cliff and eventually—"

"You will die", I continued what he was about to say.

He didn't said anything and immediately called a taxi. He went in first before I do.

I am still thinking of the possibilities of what will happen. As of now, there were no visions so I couldn't say if this will work or not.

Azrael is one of the most powerful secondary angel, next to the archangels. He won't be the angel of death if he was weaker than death itself.

I heard Azrael chuckled teasingly beside me. "You are worried about me, aren't you?", he asked.

I rolled my eyes and didn't answer. I couldn't say no because it would be a lie but I also couldn't say yes because he will just tease me much longer.

After we arrived at the park, someone called me. I look at the caller and to my surprise, it was Jayden. What does he want in the late evening?

Azrael paid the driver while I answer the call. "What is it Jayden?", I asked.

"A-Ainsley, w-we", he hesitatently answered. He seemed to be troubled and distressed, but why?

I heard a loud sound of a baby crying at the background. Azrael look at me as if he was trying to tell me what's going on. I just muttered 'Jayden' at him which just made him nodded and enter the forest first.

I quickly followed Azrael inside while still trying to catch up to Jayden's call. "Hey, what's happening?", I asked the other line.

I heard him put down the phone first and stopped the baby from crying. Maybe he tried to give biscuits or its feeding bottle.

"I'm sorry, my sister's baby was just so loud", he apologized.

I walk on Azrael's footprints. "No, no. It is actually okay. So why did you call me when it is about to be night?", I asked. The sky is now becoming darker. I know that Jayden doesn't want some night talks because he just wants to talk his problems in person, not in the phone.

He then seemed to just remember something. "Oh! Right! I was about to ask you where is Elinora. She doesn't answer my calls and I know she left with you so I just think—"

"She isn't with me", I cut him off. "She was with us yesterday but after that I haven't seen her anymore", I told him.

Azrael and I then arrived at the cliff.

"Call me if you find her. Madison told me that Elvis already misses his mom."

"Okay, yes, I will", I said before I hung up the call.

I saw Azrael tying himself to the tree. "Let me help you", I said to him and tightened the leash.

"I heard what you guys are talking about, do you want to let me help you find her?", he asked me but I just shook my head.

"It's already close to midnight. Just stay here and don't do anything stupid", I ordered him.

I put the handcuffs on Azrael's wrists and added the chains. I wish this could work. I saw him closed his eyes after I put it onto him.

"This is torture. How could Denzel survive this? A-ahhh!", I heard him shouted in pain.

"Just bare with it for a day. I will just help them find Elinora."

He nodded at me. “Goodluck and take care”, he said.

I hurriedly went out of there. I was about to call a taxi when I heard a familiar voice called me.

I turned to where the voice is and there I saw Elinora with a smiling and bright face.

"Ainsley!", Elinora shouted with a smile as she walked towards my direction. I quickly ran to meet her to check her out.

"W-what happened? Jayden said you didn't go home for a day", I worriedly asked her

She just laughed at me. "I had some fun actually. I felt more alive", she said before walking away from me.

I just looked at her confusingly before I called Jayden. "Have you found her?", he asked me right away.

"Yes. I saw her at the entrance of the park and she is on her way to our meeting place", I announced.

I heard him sighed in relief. "That's great."

I am still hesitant to say if there is something wrong with Elinora because maybe I must be wrong about it but I just did what I think is the right thing to do. I should follow what my instincts are telling me to do.

"Jayden, there must be something wrong with her. Just try to observe her for the mean time", I commanded her.

"Okay I will."

When I dropped the call I immediately went back to the location where I left Azrael.

I look at my clock and its already half past twelve. If what Lucifer told me was true, his ability must be overpowering him now.

When I got to the cliff I was stunned when I didn't saw anyone. He wasn't here. I approached the tree where I tied him but I only saw the handcuffs and chains. How did he get out of there?

I was about to go back when someone pulled my arms. And there I saw him, with a fiery red eyes and filled with darkness.

"A-Azrael", I whispered to him. He smirked at me.

"You know me huh? Too bad you won't be staying alive", he told me as if he doesn't recognized me before he pulled me to him.

I felt him smelling my neck and hair like he was looking if I am a good meat for him.

"A-Ahhhh!!!", I shouted when he suddenly bite my neck. I felt him sipping my blood but was also clenching his teeth on it.

"A-Azrael s-stop", I weakly told him while trying to push him but I was just too weak.

I don't know whom to call for help since the one I always called is here trying to kill me. I just closed my eyes and let him do what he wants and accept my death when suddenly I heard a loud gunshot.

I felt Azrael stop what he was doing and slowly lose his balance that made both of us fall onto the ground.

I slowly opened my eyes weakly to see who made Azrael lose his consciousness but I only saw a pair of blue eyes looking at me before I passed out.
