Chapter 8.2: Bloody Truth

A plate was shattered when a woman in her late 40's suddenly get mad at the young girl in front of her.

A helper cleans up the broken plate but the maiden and the lady continued to quarrel.

"Don't you dare me. You can't marry that man. We already granted you a marriage to the son of Don Solomon. We can't delay that", the lady said angrily.

"But Mom, I don't like Fernando. I only have my heart for Andres", the girl insisted.

"No buts. Fernando will marry you, whether you want to or not."

Annoyed, the girl left and entered her room. Soon, Fernando's family will visit here to formally ask for her hand. At that time, she had no choice but to run away. But she did not know where she will go after that.

Only recently did she hear of the death of her boyfriend, Andres. It hurts her to know that her loved one is gone but she knows that his death is not that simple.

She heard the arrival of Fernando and his parents. Sh stayed in the room and locked herself up.

A few hours later the noises gradually subsided. Se peeked through the door and when she saw no one, she came out with her belongings.

She plans to move away and live with a friend she knows her parents have never met or heard of.

As she was near at the door, she heard footsteps behind him that made her stop.

"Where are you going?", Said a man. Her voice was familiar to him. He is no one else but the person who will marry her, Fernando.

She stared at him and met its eyes, burning with anger. "I'm leaving. I will leave this place. I will never ever marry you", the girl replied, trying to build her courage.

The girl received a slap from the man. "You are leaving?" The man laughed weakly. "Where are you going? To your boyfriend who isn't even that strong? "

Surprised and shocked, the girl looked at the man.

"I only gave him a few blows, he died right away. Is that the kind of man you want, huh? Maria? I'm much better than Andres, Maria! We're just the three of us who grew up together but I know you love me more. I'm richer and smarter! ", The man shouted at the girl.

Fernando pulled Maria closer to him and hugged her. "You're just mine. Maria, you're just mine."

Maria struggled until she collided with a cabinet full of sculptures and frames.

Fernando immediately left the place but Maria could not escape the falling objects.

A frame caused Maria's death. This is a photo of her and her whole family.

It was only a few seconds ago when Fernando saw Maria lying on the floor and bleeding.

Fernando felt scared so he went out and ran away as if nothing had happened.

Ainsley's POV

I woke up because of the light. When I look at the window, it is already morning. I made my bed first before leaving the room.

I met Elinora and Madison cooking in the kitchen.

"Oh? Are you awake yet?", Madison asked me as I nodded.

"Where are the others?", I asked them and sat on the sofa.

"They all entered the house while Bliant was their back-up", Elinora replied to me.

Madison offered a cup of coffee to me which I thanked her afterward. "Madison, when did you come here?", I asked after sipping the coffee.

"A while ago. Jayden called us here and told us about the case. By the way, are you officially with us yet?", she curiously asked me.

I stopped. Elinora also looked at me and waited for my answer.

I will admit, this job is hard and scary but somehow, my ability is useful here and also, it is fun.

"Maybe?", I simply replied making them smile.

Minutes passed and Bliant arrived nervously. "What? What happened?", I asked him. Why do I feel this isn't going to be nice?

"They told me to wait at the front door for an hour and if they don't come out after that, I'll tell you. It had been 1 and a half hour since they entered the house. They still didn't came out", Bliant replied.

"Even Azrael?", Elinora asked

"Even him."

We quickly left the house and went straight to the other house. We all looked at each other and wondered if we were going to enter or not.

"I'll go first", Madison boldly told us.

She entered the house without second thoughts. Elinora also do the same while I am anxious to just follow them.

Bliant still waited in front of the door for his protection and also, to be the back-up.

As we entered, I heared a loud devilish laugh again. The house was also so chaotic that it looked like there was a storm that passed by inside it.

Chairs and tables were flipped and some cups and plates were shattered.

"Just stay together. Try not to separate", Madison commanded us.

I clung to the hem of Elinora's dress and looked around. We first went to the first bedroom. This is the room where I first saw the bloody woman.

We saw there the angelic woman I spoke to yesterday with a lady who was probably her mother.

They were shocked to see us here. The girl approached me. "What are you doing here? You should leave. The other comrades of yours, I don't know where they are. I saw them last in the basement", she told me.

"Basement? Where is that?", Madison asked her.

"Do you see me too?", the girl asked in shock.

"That doesn't matter anymore. Where's the basement?", Madison asked unanswering the question of the girl earlier.

"There is a small door near the kitchen. There is a staircase there that can lead you to the basement. That's where I last saw them", she replied.

Madison and Elinora left quickly and went straight to the kitchen. I thanked the girl first before following them.

Elinora opened the door and went inside. I followed while Madison was last.

We heared another laugh and I notice that it is stronger than before.

Then there's a loud crash we heard above. Madison turned to the location of the door we had entered earlier but it was now closed.

"Did that evil spirit just trapped us?", I asked incredulously.

"Obviously. Maybe she's planning to kill us here in the basement", Elinora told us.

A few more steps on the stairs and we reached the basement.

I immediately noticed the two men lying on the sofa. "It's them!"

We quickly approached them and woke them up but it seemed to have no use.

"They're breathing. What happened to them?", Madison asked as she patting her twin's cheeks to wake it up.

Jayden, Mason ... "Where's Azrael?", I asked.

By then, we heard crashes and breaking of equipment above.

"There he is. Fighting again with the devil."

The noises kept coming from above as we woke the two men up.

I then noticed some antiques on the rear part of the basement.

I approached it and saw a box full of pictures and sculptures. Some of it are the ones I saw on my vision.

"What did you saw, Ainsley?", Elinora asked me.

I turned to her and saw the boys slowly waking up before answering her. "It is this box. It's full of things that I saw in my vision."

The two women approached the place where I was and looked at the items in the box one by one.

“This picture is so creepy”, Madison said while holding a picture.

I looked at it and noticed that it was the photo that caused Maria's death. I then noticed a thing after seeing it.

"Is it possible that a spirit was trapped in the place she died or on the thing that 'cause her death?", I asked them.

"It is possible. Why did you ask?", Mason answered me while massaging his head. Maybe Maria used her ability on both of them but luckily, they are strong and they survived.

"In my vision, she died at her own house and the reason of it was that picture. Then I noticed that she couldn't get out of this house. It was like she was just trapped here", I replied.

"I also heard when I investigated that almost all the people who lived here died. Only a few of those survived. But still, there are people who are still trying to buy this house because the location was good. "

I took the picture in Madison's hand to analyze it but suddenly my head started to hurt again.

"Who did this? My child!", shouted by a lady at Maria's bloody body.

"Who was with Maria here before?", Maria's father asked.

"Fernando! He was left here alone with Maria. Where is Fernando?", the lady said.

"If he is the one who did this, we can't be against their family. They are the only ones who help us to stay where we are", replied by a man who was probably Maria's brother.

Because of what she heard, Maria's spirit was filled with anger. She gave a deafening shout before finally killing her family one by one.

"Ainsley!", I came back to reality because of Jayden's shout. "What happened? Did you see anything again?", Jayden asked one after another.

I immediately gave the photo to Jayden. "I saw a vision again", I replied. I have a bad feeling about it. I don't know why but I felt something strong and suffocating.

I looked not far from the basement and there I saw Maria smiling at me again.

"Ainsley", she whispered softly but I could hear it clearly from where I am.

"Ainsley! Ainsley! What's wrong with you?", they shouted at me. Although I wanted to turn to them, I could do nothing. I seem to be statuesque in my position. I could not move any part of my body even I wanted to.

She got closer and closer to me as if she is memorizing my face and figuring out how to kill me.

"Because of your family my life is in turmoil! Your family cause this!", she shouted full of anger at me.

W-what? My family? What does my family got to do with it?

Maria put her hand on my neck and then started to strangled me.

"Ainsley! Are you crazy? Why are you choking yourself?", Madison shouted at me again.

W-wait, what?

She gave me a devilish smile but it also disappeared when she noticed something.

She removed her hand from my neck and after that I was able to move freely.

"Oh my god! She is here?!", Elinora shouted in shock when she finally saw Maria who was now engulfed in fire.

"I-It is not mine or m-my family's fault", I replied breathlessly to Maria before she finally disappeared.

Jayden gave me a bottle of water which I thanked him.

"What happened?", I asked them after drinking all of the water. They pointed at Azrael who is now burning the picture. "You can thank me later ", he told me while giving a salute.
