Chapter 1 - Flight
Gold Moon had an enormous castle style house right in the center, that’s where the Alpha August, the Luna Serena, the heir Alice and August’s right hand lived. Tonight was the usual Friday night for Gold Moon, but with a little twist. The Alpha, August, has an announcement to make. Everyone in the Gold Moon pack and all of its allies have gathered in front of the pack house for this momentous occasion.
August’s POV-
“As you all know” I begin, “My wife and Luna, Serena, has blessed me with the life of my own pup. Today is the day we celebrate her 12th birthday!” I say with joy.
All the pack members go around the pack house to the backyard and see the extravaganza they will be enjoying for the night. There were many twinkling lights hanging over the guests. Every guest was having a wonderful time and it seemed almost magical, until the attack happened.
The humans from the nearby villages started coming to the gates.
“Open up you mangy mutts!” One of the humans yelled.
“This land doesn’t belong to you! Leave!” Another shouted.
Smoke bombs and molotovs started to be thrown in. Everyone looked for their families but I needed my soldiers.
The soldiers and I shifted to protect our land. I was no longer myself and gave Archie, my wolf, control.
“Get out of here! This is my pack!” Archie hollered at the intruders.
Archie looks back and we see our Luna with our pup in her arms.
“RUN!! GET EVERYONE OUT, I WILL FIND YOU WHEN THIS IS SETTLED!!” Archie screams to her.
The humans made their way in and started shooting and throwing more things at us. We had to fight.
Serena’s POV-
It’s been a week since the attack and August still hasn’t found us. We started again in the outskirts of the nearby town where I hope we won’t be bothered.
My thoughts clear as I hear a knock at the door.
“Hello? Is there any news?” I say to the Omega soldier in front of me.
“Luna, we checked Gold Moon, there are many deceased and I’m very sorry, but Alpha August is among them.” Omega Luca says and he stares to his feet.
Immediately I’m holding back my tears, my throat burning at the struggle.
“Are you sure?” I say with a whimper.
“Yes Luna.” Luca replies.
My heart shattered in an instant. What will I tell my daughter?!?
