“Why would you do that?” Eli hovered over Tory as he whispered into the phone, being careful not to wake her in the process. Four days had passed since Tory had allowed him back in, they were taking it slow but still, it made him happy. Eli had even forgotten the reality that led them there until the call from his mom came in.
He had stared at the phone wondering if something was wrong. When it hit him, Eli had left without a word, but by now they would have figured out he came after Tory. As sis conversation continued he had dreaded even picking up the phone. How could his own family sabotage him like this?
“Eli, it’s for the best,” at that point, Eli did not want to be part of that conversation. Eli had already made his way towards the balcony.
