CHAPTER THREE

“Ahm…”

Avery looked at the woman when she heard her voice and she saw that she’s looking at her.

“Oh, Sorry! It is so rude of me, please sit down.” Avery said with embarrassment for staring too long to the lady, and urging the lady to sit down.

“Thank you.” The lady said giving Avery a smile that made her heart skip a beat.

Avery wants to smack her head for acting strangely towards to someone, specially for a woman, whom she just met.

Come on! What’s happening to you Avery?!”

Avery said to herself.

“By the way I’m Gene Fuente Bella.” The woman introduced herself.

The woman offered her hand.

“I am Avery Cortez, nice to meet you!” Avery said.

She immediately took Gene’s hand for a shake while giving back the same smile that Gene is giving to her.

Avery felt Gene squeeze her hand a bit, but she just didn’t care because she likes the way she did it, and what’s more strange is she felt an electrifying spark on their hands.

“Fuente Bella? You mean?” Avery asked after their hands separated.

“Yeah, the owner.” Gene said confirming the hint that Avery is right on what she’s thinking.

“Oh, wow! I never thought I would meet the owner of this wonderful place.” Avery said after she confirmed what she found out.

“I’m glad you love it here.” Gene said with a bright smile plastered on her face as she stared at Avery who looks really happy to meet her.

And by that Avery found herself mesmerized by Gene again, and to erase that Avery turn her attention to the food, and realized that Gene has not ordering anything. Gene seems to notice it as well.

“Oh, I forgot to order my food.” Gene said and calls the waiter to order.

Avery watched Gene as she saying her order, and she can say that the woman in front of her is an epitome of perfection, for the way she talks, acts, and gesture is so graceful, even her outfit today is just a simple bohemian dress it suites to her.

No! Let me rephrase it, everything suites to her.” Avery thoughts said.

“What do you want, Avery?”

Avery heard Gene asked making her thoughts back to reality, and saw Gene staring at her while seemed waiting for her response.

“A-Ah, no thanks, I’m okay with these.” Avery said while looking at her foods,

She realized how many foods she has on the table made her feel quite embarrass after an awkward laugh came out to her.

“Don’t mind me, I like your big appetite, it is rare to find a girl that has a big appetite and they don’t get fat.” Gene said to ease Avery’s embarrassment.

“So, are you having fun in this island?” Gene asked Avery to switch the topic.

“Well, Yes. I just arrived here two days ago, and I fell in love with the view.” Avery said.

A smile crept on her lips when she remembered the view she captured specially the accidental one that has Gene on the picture.

“Do you want me to tour you around?” Avery stilled on what Gene said.

Avery love that but, her rational self told her that she must not bother Gene even she loves to have her tour her around.

“I am sorry but I don’t want to bother you.” Avery said declining Gene’s offer.

“I insist Ave, and in fact I’m here for a vacation, so no problem for me to be your tour guide here.” Gene said.

Avery has a strong willed whenever she decides that she find strange because for the first time her decision is wobbling and this is because of Gene.

Avery nodded as she response to what Gene had said.

“Then it settled, I will be your tour guide.” Gene said delightful, that made Avery realize that she had a right choice to let Gene to be her tour guide.

Their breakfast ended well, and now Avery is on her way to her cottage after leaving Gene to her secretary for an important matters.

Avery was in the middle of her way to her cottage when she heard someone calling her, and saw that it was Gene.

“Are you done?” Avery asked as Gene keep up on her pace.

“Yes,” Gene replied, “so where are you going?”

Gene watching every step that they take towards the VIP cottage that is located in the sea water.

“My cottage.” Avery replied pointing her cottage that can be seen from where they are.

As Avery continued to walk, she didn’t notice the broken glass and it was too late to step back, Avery find herself whimpering as her right foot bleeds.

“Sht!” Gene cursed.

She saw Avery’s right foot is bleeding, and she also saw that there is a broken glass on the sand.

“Are you all right?” Gene asked leveling herself to Avery who’s still whimpering in pain.

Avery responded by shaking her head crying, for she is has an awful fear in blood.

But the tears that were about to fall from her eyes again halted, when she felt herself being lift in the air.

“G-Gene!” Avery uttered in surprise when she saw that it was Gene who lifted her up.

“Gene I’m heavy, put me down!” Avery said, as she felt an extreme embarrassment.

Gene is now carrying her in a bridal position that made her embarrass and her cheeks heated.

“No, your foot might be infected if you will keep on walking on the sand.” Gene said.

This time her face is cold, making Avery hard to reject her help and leave her with no choice but to let Gene to carry her like her weight is nothing.

And because Gene is much taller than her who’s only 5’4 and she is 5’8 in height made her looks carrying Avery easier.

Avery felt her heart beats fast as she holds her arm to Gene’s neck to prevent her from falling.

“Calm down heart, calm down.” Avery whispered inside her head.id confirming the hint that Avery is thinking.
