Anxiety rollercoaster

663 Words
I decide I just want to go home. I text my sister and let her know that I feel sick out of no where and that she can drive my car back home. A peace and quiet walk is honestly what I need right now. I walk into Sephora feeling a little dizzy and sweaty and hand her the keys. I say my goodbyes and apologize for leaving so suddenly and walk back outside. I let out a huge sigh of relief. For some reason, I was feeling claustrophobic in a mall with so many people. I start walking home. Yes, it’s about a 45 minute walk but at this rate I couldn’t care less. I need peace and quiet. Lately, I’m so overwhelmed and have people nagging at me all the time that I forgot what quiet even meant. I look up at the sky and see that it’s about to storm. Great. This day couldn’t get any better. The sky started darkening faster and faster. I start to sprint home instead of taking my time. The goosebumps reappeared out of no where again. All of the sudden, I feel as if I’m being watched. I turn around slowly and see nothing there. “Snap out of it, Rayna. You’re acting paranoid for no reason.” I let out a long sigh as rain begins to pour on me. I can no longer hear anything except the sound of rain and thunder. I decide to take a back road in case of a speeding car. I don’t trust anybody driving in this type of weather, especially when I’m walking down a road. “Rayna.” I hear the same voice as earlier. My heart starts pounding and I began to run. I tripped over a tree branch that fell due to the high winds of the storm. I fall and hit my leg hard. I stay in the position I fell in for a good minute or two before I start lifting myself up. “Ow. What the heck is up with today? Ugh, I just want to go straight to bed when I get home. Today has been beyond crazy and that’s just an understatement.” I start walking again after catching my breath and notice my knee starts throbbing with every step I take. I pause and look down at the leg that’s causing me agonizing pain. I left up my pants and see a pretty big scrape that’s bleeding on my knee. “Great, let’s ruin one of the only pairs of pants I own that aren’t ragged up. How fantastic.” I let out a frustrating groan and continue walking home. At this point, I am soaked, frustrated, a little uneasy, and now I’m in pain. What was up with that voice I heard earlier? Why did it sound like it was right in my ear? I gets chills thinking about it and start rubbing my arms that are crossed in a nervous motion. What the heck was that?! It looked like a black figure running across the road in some sort of superhero speed. I rub my eyes thinking I’m just seeing things from the rain and because it’s getting dark out. “Rayna, breathe, you’re fine, today is just one of those super off days. Tomorrow everything will be back tomorrow.” I snap out of my train of thought to the sound of a horrifying scream. I start running again even though I’m in so much pain and I feel tired. I hear the scream again and I hear what sounds like somebody falling out of a tree. I look over to the direction of the sound and see a body. A dead freaking body! Blood pouring out of their neck and wrist. Their body twisted in ways I’ve never seen a human move. Panic consumes me. Everything starts spinning and I suddenly feel so lightheaded and airy. Before I know it, I pass out.
