Pika, the opossum

Brianna went to visit her dad one HOT Summer Day in 2021. Her dad live's in Monroe, WA. It's about 2 hour's away from were we was living at that time. She hasn't had the best relationship with her dad he hasn't always been around. Brianna is 17 year's old and is seeing her dad for the first time sense she was 5 years old. Her dad has another daughter with his new wife, she is 10 years younger than brianna. Anyway they wanted to walk to the corner store for some junk food and started walking down the street and to their surprise they saw a tiny baby opossum on the side of the road. she looked scared and was all alone. Brianna picked her up and put her in her sweater to keep her warm and safe. (The baby opossum could fit in the palm of her hand) They took her home and tried feeding her with a baby bottle and baby formula. She seemed to be ok with it. We knew nothing about opossums and had to Google so much and there isn't really any info online about opossums. (Very sad that no one takes the time to educate about all animals of the world) The next day the baby opossum hid in the room at briannas dads house and brianna was freaking out cause she couldn't find the baby. Finally hours later she saw the drawer move and there she was sleeping. lol She was so little she could hid anywhere and fit in anything. As the days went by the opossum got more use to humans and was eating good and growing very fast. (opossums age 10 times faster than humans) 5 years to them is their hole life. Bree was finally coming home. Brianna brought the opossum home I couldn't believe how cute she was and we had a pet opossum. We named her "Pika, and I always made video's of the opossum and took tons of pictures. A couple weeks after she brought her home we started feeding her fruits, vegetables, we offered her all foods. At first she ate everything and anything. Thats were she got into trouble. She ate cigarettes and got really sick after that, now she was scared to just eat anything. We now had a picky eater. Pika loved yogurt, cheese, and eggs. (Comfort foods) Pika is the sweetest animal I ever had in my life. Watching her grow and the things she did was so interesting and she began to be a part of our family. Pika had many adventures and experiences. When she was only a few months old she decided to go exploring at night when we was asleep. She jumped out the window and we don't know were she went or what she did or even how long she was gone, but when she was done she came home, she made sure we opened the door for her. She came to the sliding glass door and would climb up the screen and made noise until someone let her in. Pika was so muddy and dirty, she so cold too. (poor baby) When my mom said to brianna, your opossum is trying to get in, we didn't believe her cause we thought pika was sleeping but nope. We was so scared at first but so glad she came home. We knew right then and there pika was our little baby girl. I loved her so much. I bought her cloths and blankets even a stroller. she was spoiled. Pika never caused no problems she is the sweetest, gentlest, quotes animal in the world.
