I stood here looking at the fat f**k that was kneeling before me. We had been alerted by our informant about the assholes who had intercepted and taken two of our shipments. Dad had handed me the pack when I was 20 due to being seriously injured during a car accident. Him and mom had decided it was time for him to retire and for me to take the alphaship. I became both alpha and Don of the Italian mafia that day. I was only halfway through college when that happened. It took me a couple of years to prove to everyone that someone so young was able to lead but now at 26 everyone respects me. There have been whispers and rumors about the fact that I don’t have a mate, but what no one is aware of, beside my inner circle, is that I do have a mate. I just need to find her which has proven to be harder than I was expecting it to be. I saw movement out of the corner of my eye.
“Don’t even f*****g think about it. I would like to know why you thought it would be a clever idea to take my shipments.” I asked.
“I want to know who told them to take our shipments.” Terrance added.
I had brought Terrance, Lamar, Sean, Cash, Alec, Shay, Borris, Deaton and Gavin with me. I was still not sure about Gavin, but Terrance and Cash had been singing his praises, so I was slowly starting to include him in various tasks. He would never be part of the inner circle. There was something about him that didn’t sit right with Incubo and me. Quade and Xakeem had wanted to come but I couldn’t have all the ranks here in case something went to s**t. I needed some of our ranks to stay behind if something happened. Our little informant had once again proven that she, I was convinced it was a woman, was worth the money I paid her. She had contacted Quade just before Christmas which was almost six years ago. That was also the same time that I had begun catching brief whiffs of Xayvry’s dark spiced rum with a hint of chocolate scent around the city. All of us have a strong suspicion that Xayvry is our informant.
“Hey, what do you want to do with these assholes?” Alec asked.
“Oh, they are going to die, but not until we get some information out of them. Who the f**k is your boss?” I asked.
“We don’t know.” one of them replied.
“How the f**k do you not know who your boss is?” I asked.
“We have never seen him. He contacts us directly by phone or has one of his top men come to us. We have never seen him.” the red
head says.
“Start loading our s**t up and take it to our warehouse.” I told them.
“What about these fuckers?” Cash asked.
“Leave one alive. Kill the rest. I want their boss to know what happens when they f**k with us.” I replied.
I turned around as screams erupted around me. I smirked when I heard the snapping of bones. I knew my guys would get rid of the bodies. I heard the tearing of flesh as I stepped out of the door.
“Now what? You know we could have just shot them.” Terrance pointed out.
“We could have, but I hate wasting bullets on unimportant things like those worthless pieces of s**t. As far as what we do, we wait. The
one we left alive and let go will no doubt run back to his boss who will in turn tell his boss which is what I want.” I told him.
We waited for the guys to clean up the mess before heading back to the pack. I knew we would get back when everyone else was asleep. It was close to midnight on Friday well, I guess it's almost Saturday. I knew dad would want to know what we found out. Khattar should also be there by now. I had asked him to come so I could tell him about my suspicion that Xayvry was our informant. I walked into the open shower in my bathroom. Stepping under the hot water I let it wash away the blood and the rest of the day.
“Well, what happened last night?” dad asked.
Quade, Terrance, Xakeem, dad, Khattar, Cash, Sean, Alek and Shay were present in my office for this meeting. The other guys in my inner circle would have been present but they were needed on patrol. Mom and a few omegas had just left after leaving five trays overflowing with food and some drinks. Khattar had brought all coffee which I appreciated. I was still tired from last night. This last week had been stressful at work. Add our shipments getting stolen on top of that and I was glad everything had calmed down, for now at least.
“They were all human. I am not sure what gang they are from. They were clearly low-level assholes. Their boss would tell them where to go, or they would get a call or more likely text from the head asshole telling where to go to steal shipments. They weren’t that helpful. I let one of the little shits live so he could tell the others about us.” I told them.
“I would love to know how you know all this s**t?” Khattar asked.
“Six years ago, a note was left on my SUV. I had been meeting with Remeil. We had met for lunch and to discuss a business venture, not mafia related. The note had been left attached to the steering wheel of my car.” Quade explained.
“How the hell did he get inside of your locked SUV?” Khattar asked.
“Teleporting. Remeil could sense someone with power but none like he had ever been around, well at least none that he had been around for a long time.” Quade added.
“I was at work when Quade linked me, once he was back on pack territory, and told me what had happened. I told him to have our best trackers check the SUV out from top to bottom which they did, but they picked up nothing. It wasn’t until I got home and checked out the SUV did, we know who it was. I only had to get within five feet of the car to catch the scent that ingrained into my memory.” I explained.
“There is only one scent that you would recognize that fast.” dad pointed out.
“Are you telling us that...” Khattar began to ask.
“Yes, I believe Xayvry is the one that left that note on Quade’s SUV. She let us know that she knew we needed a new informant and that she would be perfect for the job. I was skeptical at first but after telling us about a stolen shipment and where to find it and two assassination attempts, I put her on our payroll. Before you ask no I don’t know where they are. The only ways we contact her are by a cell phone number she gave us or leaving messages at three or four separate locations. I have had my IT guys try and trace the number, but it belongs to a burner phone and while I have personally staked out the message sites, we have never caught her taking the messages. I believe she is using her powers to disguise herself.” I explained.
“We can’t prove that Xayvry is our informant, but Kahil has caught her scent enough times as we waited for our informant to pick up the messages that we are almost positive she is. We thought about trying to find out which schools her and her sister might be attending but there are hundreds in the state of New York.” Terrance added.
“You might have found Diyaa that way but not Xayvry. What I am about to tell you no one besides me and her dark fey and elf family knew was that Xayvry was a genius. She started reading not long after her third birthday. Felynia was the one to tell us that we should have her tested. Frejya and I did have her tested when she was eight years old. She skipped most of grade school and middle school. Xayvry graduated high school at 12. She is a genius when it comes to computers, and she can also build just about anything. We had her tested by Mensa not long after that. Xayvry has an IQ of 220. We had Diyaa tested as well. Her IQ is 180 so not as high as her sisters, but high enough for her to her to be considered a genius as well. This information is not to leave this room.” Khattar told us.
“When was the last time they were sighted?” Khattar asked.
“The last sighting was six years ago. They were spotted in Michigan when Shay’s parents were visiting his mother’s birth pack. They tried to keep an eye on them but by the time we got there they were gone. That was just after the new year’s so Xayvry would have been 14 and Diyaa would have been 11 or 12 depending on if she had, had her birthday yet. Do not worry no one is going to say anything about them being geniuses.” I answered.
“That must have been right before they came here. We found Felynia in Boston six years ago, but she had been killed at least two or three days before. The girls had been there not long before, but not for at least a day or two. I believe they came back, possibly from Michigan to Boston and found Felynia.” Khattar told us.
“The timeline adds up. That would also explain when you started to catch her scent every now and then around the city.” Quade pointed out.
“You have been scenting her for six years?” Khattar asked.
“Yes and no. I began to get brief whiffs of her scent starting after Valentines Day six years ago. At first, I thought I was losing it, but over the last six years her scent has grown stronger. Close to two years ago her scent hit me hard. I am guessing that was when she came of age.” I added.
“Yes, her birthday is November 4th. Diyaa’s birthday is January 16th.” Khattar commented.
I glanced at dad when he told us when Xayvry’s birthday was. Khattar caught the look we shared. Dad explained that I had woken up that night unexpectedly. It didn’t even dawn on me that it was the same night that Xayvry was born. I tell him how it felt like something had opened within me and that I felt weird. Hearing this convinced them that Xayvry and I are mates. I also believed that we were more than fated mates, but I was not sure what that meant.
“I believe you are more than fated mates. I believe you two are what is referred to as True Mates. True Mates happen sporadically, and no one ever knows when they will show up. The last pair of true mates that I know of were Odin’s parents. I have heard of them, but I have never personally seen them. They also never happen between species.” Khattar told us.
Khattar and dad told me to focus on our bond. Dad asked me where I caught her scent the most and to focus on those areas. I knew I had caught her scent mostly in the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn.
[I wonder what our little mate looks like now. Incubo]
[I wonder to. Me]
[I bet she isn’t so little anymore. Me]
[I want mate. Incubo]
[I do to, and we will find her. We know she is here and what areas she frequents. We need to focus on our bond and hopefully that will lead us to her. Me]
Dad asks if I think it was Ashamar that was behind our shipments being stolen. I tell him that I am highly suspicious but without solid evidence then who knows. That is another person that disappeared and hasn’t been seen since. At first, we thought that was who Melody was working with, but one of the assholes helping her told us that it was a demon that she was working with.
I knew a few demons, so I had asked around, but they didn’t know and the demons they had talked to either weren’t admitting to anything or truly didn’t know anything. Right now, I was focused on finding my missing princess.
