Opal Moon

(Aiden) Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I see Darla lying on my bed. I roll my eyes as I grab my towel and exit the bathroom. I can see a smirk go across her face. “I thought I told you, I have a lot to do today.” I am annoyed that she hasn’t left, I only see her roll on my bed and pout. “I’m still thirsty, don’t you have a few more minutes?” She says, giving me wide eyes and a devious smile. She licks her lips and lets out a little whine while sprawling across my bed. Darla and I have been hooking up for awhile, and I must say she is a pleaser. I know she hopes that one day I will make her my luna. I only use her to get off when I need to. I look at her as she licks her lips, kneeling on the bed. I can see the lust in her eyes. I walked towards her but came to a sudden halt. My Beta mindlinks my mind, telling me he needs to see me. “Sorry baby, pack business. I gotta go.” I said while pulling my shirt over my head. I heard a whine escape her. I turned around and darted over to her, grabbing her neck, giving her a juicy kiss while squeezing her neck tightly. “You have pleased your Alpha for today, now you may leave.” I whispered to her while still having my hold on her neck. She gave me a singular breath as I saw a smile spread across her face. “Yes Alpha.” She says in a seductive tone as she leaves my room. I rolled my eyes and prepared to leave. I open my office door sipping my coffee, seeing Buddy, my beta, waiting for me. “Sorry boss, didn’t mean to intrude on your…escapade.” he says while trying to hold laughter. He is such a d**k sometimes, he disturbs me on purpose. My beta and gamma are bothn’t a fan of Darla, she acts like Luna sometimes and it annoys everyone. But she gave head, so they could piss off. At this time, I looked and saw Brady, my gamma, rush into the room with a beagle hanging from his mouth. “Good god do you ever stop eating.” Buddy joked while letting out a snort. I could have raw dogged Darla and still missed nothing, the thought made me chuckle to myself. “Do we have a report from Crescent Dawn pack yet?” I interject as I want to get down to business, and truthfully I need to catch up on paperwork. “Yes they have confirmed, however that is what I wanted to discuss with you.” I see Buddy pause as he looks over to Brady, what is going on? “It appears Valentina, their leader we spoke to, is a witch, we already knew that. However, apparently they also have an Alpha and she is a female.” I nearly choked on my coffee, we were never told of another Alpha, and since when are females Alphas? “Who is this female Alpha?” I asked in a hushed, yet stern voice. I am curious as to why I am finding out this information the day they are supposed to arrive. Normally, once an Alpha dies, their heir will take over, and if no male heir is produced, then the Alphas Beta is supposed to. When it comes to pack law, there is not much wiggle room when it comes to changing the rules. If there is a female Alpha, that means something is off. “Whoever she is, she keeps her identity very private, no one knows who she is.” Buddy says, flicking his hair back while nervously giving a cheesy smile. Brady is making no eye contact while he pretends to look at the ceiling, ignoring the tension. Not knowing who I am dealing with puts me instinctively on high alert; I do not enjoy letting strangers on my packs land without doing some digging on them, especially when we are potentially entering an alliance. “No matter, they are arriving shortly, do we have any intel on her Beta and Gamma?” I ask, assuming they must be women as well, which honestly would make me feel better. To my dismay, Buddy tosses me two folders, both of which contain two male profiles along with pictures. Cam Hosler ( Blue River Pack): Blonde-haired, blue-eyed 19-year-old run-away. Former quarterback, top of his class in self-defense. Omega warrior. Criminal record: Banished after killing a fellow Omega within the pack grounds Harming members of your own pack is a tricky rule, which punishment is left up to the Alpha of said pack. I scanned it twice, knowing there must have been missing information. I knew of this particular pack. We had done business with them in the past. They controlled a large part of the crop fields, which made them valuable. I furrowed my brows as I glanced at the second file on my desk, already seeing the similarities. Zane Bronco (Blue River Pack): Brown hair, brown-eyed, 20 year old. Finished high school, and quickly grew to be a pack warrior. Criminal record: Left his pack after nearly killing a fellow warrior. Further details are confidential. Hmmm so many questions are raised in my head, both boys from the same pack, whom I can only assume left for similar reasons. All of this new information makes me less excited about meeting this pack, especially this Female Alpha. I am broken from my train of thought as Buddy steps forward, he has his phone in his hands texting while about to speak. “Jason at the gate just informed me, they have arrived.” I gave him a nod while exiting my office. Moon Goddess, what have you gotten me into? ******* (Crystal) My heart pounds as we enter the gates. I feel uneasy seeing my old pack again. Until we reached the packhouse, I made sure to keep myself hidden, since no one knew why I had left. “Have you let your family know you're here?” Cam asked, integrating my inner thoughts. I didn’t even realize I was in a daze until now. I gulp before making eye contact with him. When I left, I was so ashamed of how I left things, but I did find ways of letting my family know I was OK. Ben and I texted every few days, making sure I was alright and keeping him in the loop. “I let Ben know, he doesn’t know why. I will go see him later.” I told Cam before quickly looking back out the window. It can be a bittersweet conversation for me. The SUV pulls up to the packhouse, when I exit I take a long inhale. Smells of pine still, Selena humphs, remembering the sweet smells she loved so much. I smiled as I remembered all the good memories of running through these woods. I thought it would be bittersweet, but turned out to be more nostalgic. I take in scenes a while longer before I hear someone behind me coming down the stairs. I then hear a husky voice of someone I never expected to hear from again. “Welcome, I am Alpha Aiden of Opal Moon. I Hope-.” I turn around before he can finish his sentence, he pauses as his eyes widen. For a second, I thought he was going to fall over. “Crystal!”
