Chapter 4: ErinBy the end of the second week of the fall semester, Erin and Max had fallen into a routine again. Every morning it was out to the greenbelt and every afternoon they went to the park. Sometimes Erin jogged with Max, but mostly she biked the trails. Of course, Max had to stay on a leash for those, but they made up for it by hitting the dog park regularly. Max wasn’t the most social of dogs Erin had encountered, but he was never aggressive, not even if another dog growled at him. He snapped occasionally when another dog got too fresh but always bit at the air. Once Erin learned that he wasn’t going to harm anybody, she took to sitting on one of the benches and reading whatever novel she’d downloaded to her k****e. Like the dog, Erin wasn’t in the mood to socialize with anyone
