Chapter 18 - Unleash

"I thought you want to sleep" Peter take his seat to a branch of tree on the ground.

"No, change of plans" I stand in front of them.

"What are we doing here then?" Nancy look at me as she ask.

"Practicing to use my power" I turn my back And look at the abandon building in front of us.

"And how did you find this place?, It seems.Old" Nancy ask as she let her eyes look at the place.

"Yeah, I agree, it's like we're in the middle of the forest" Peter added.

"Uhm, internet? And some research?, We're safe here and this abandon place is far from the city" I told them as I turn my back and look at both of them.

"I need both of you, to help me unleashed my power" it takes second before they answer and nodded.

"We're here for you Kathie" Nancy answered

"Yeah, were in this together" Peter smile as he stand and put his arm around my shoulder.

"That's what I say" I smiled at both of them as we enter the abandon building.

"It's not working" Nancy said as we've been here for an hour now.

We did all we can do to let my power reveal itself. But it's harder than what I thought it is.

They even tried to pull a trick on hurting me but it doesn't work at all, were out of ideas.

"Man, I'm starve" Peter said as we all take a sit.

"Why don't we call it a day for now?" I tell them as they took a deep breath.

"Kathie we can't, it is now or never, we need to find out the secret on how to use your ability, besides, me and Peter think that this is a good start for you to be able to protect yourself even if we're not around, so we wouldn't worry too much" Nancy said as Peter nodded.

They're both right. I can't be selfish when people around me keep worrying about my safety, I need to do this.

I keep on thinking and thinking of the past days where I'm able to use my power.

What's the difference now and what the similarities that I was able to use it.

Flashback

"Kathie, it's always the heart that matter, it's the soul of your power, it's the willingness that will serve a key to open the door of power, always remember that Kathie, and never forget" my father told me while we're taking a break from the training.

"Dad, I don't understand" I look at him as he lightly laugh.

"In time, my daughter, you'll know what it means" he answered as he smiled.

End of flashback

I open my eyes from the sudden memory of my father.

He's right!!

I stand abruptly that gain quite some attention from my best friends.

"I think I know how to use it" I said As I look at them.

"How?" Nancy

"How!" Peter

They are both confused.

"My real father told me once, it's always the heart that matter, it's the soul of your power, it's the willingness that will serve a key to open the door of power," I turn my back, and let my emotion took over, the pain, the sadness, loneliness, joy, and finally love.

I let the memories trail back, from Danny, father and mother, from both my dad's, then to my best friend, to all tragedy and hatred.

I let things happen, and keep it in me.

Now it's time for you to be free.

I smiled at last, and let the new feeling I had inside took my body.

And then.

The wind and strong air sorrounds me that cause the old glasses of windows of building to shatter.

I feel warmth, and cold.

Peter and Nancy are using their hand to somehow prevent the wind on taking them.

It got strong, until the air filled the room. And the ground begin to shake.

"K-KATHIE! STOP! YOUR GOING O-OUT OF CONTROL!!!"

I can hear Nancy but I can't stop, it's like the power are familiarising itself to my body.

"Kathie!!" Peter said as now he was pin on the wall and struggling to block the wind.

I started to scream in pain, as if the power is fusing to my soul that make me feel in pain.

"Aaah, I-I cant" I gritted through my teeth, I can't let this power torn me apart, it's too much.

"Kathie!" Peter

"KATHIE!!" Nancy

And with that the whole building swallowed by light that came from me, and my body started to float in mid air as I can feel the change, and that's the last time I know until I lost consciousness. And my body hit the floor.
