*MAXINE’s POV*
It’s already 5:30 in the morning so and all of us are running our way back to the palace so we could avoid the sunlight. Due to our speed as vampires, we arrived at the palace with just small burns. The shamans quickly healed the empress and the emperor’s burns, after that, they helped the other vampires too including me.
“Check the empress, she had inhaled a lot of smokes from the demon realm, ” the emperor said as he takes the empress to the infirmary where the shamans followed behind them.
“Maxine, ” I heard Princess Zarah’s voice so I turned around to face her.
“Yes, princess?” I asked.
“Thank you, for saving me, ” she said and smiled at me as she reached her right hand out. I reached for her hand and held it tight.
