The following evening, Elder Marks arrived and Sylas introduced him to Lovynia.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Elder.” Lovynia said as she shook his hand.
“Please, the pleasure is all mine. I was hoping for the day that Sylas would call me and ask me to meet a new Alpha. I’m surprised to see someone so young, no offense.”
“None taken. I was worried myself, but Azrin and Tabrin told me that my age would not be an issue so long as I do my best to be a good Alpha.” Elder Marks stood frozen, a look of shock on his face.
“Tabrin and Azrin? The Twin Wolves? You have been bonded to them?” he asked. Lovynia nodded slowly, a worried look in her eyes. The elder knelt down and bowed his head. Lovynia jumped back in surprise. Sylas was staring in shock at the Elder’s actions.
“I have heard stories of their might from generations past. They are only able to be bonded to a soul once every five hundred years. To think I would meet them in my lifetime. It’s an honor to be graced by their presence.” Elder Marks groveled. Lovynia was about to say something when Tabrin took over and spoke.
“Elder Marks, I am Tabrin. Please, stand and face me. I wish to look you in the eye when I speak.” She said in a gentle voice. Elder Marks stood and looked into Tabrin’s blue eyes. She smiled gently.
“We hope to have your help as a permanent Elder for this pack. Will you consider staying here?” she asked. Elder Marks smiled widely and grabbed both of her hands, shaking them.
“I’d love to remain here! I’m certain Lovynia will turn this into one of the best packs in the country with guidance from you and your sister. It would be an honor to serve as the Elder here for as long as I live.” He said. Tabrin chuckled and he released her hands. Tabrin closed her eyes for a moment, When she opened them again, Azrin’s red eyes were present.
“Hello, Elder Marks. I am Azrin. Could you perhaps tell the people here of our past exploits? Maybe not of our last time on this earth. That was not a good pairing for us. That woman was a power-hungry gold-digger who ran her pack into the ground. We almost refused to return, but our mother showed us who we would be bound to. Once we saw the kind of person Lovynia was, we knew she would be a wonderful partner.” Azrin explained.
“Of course. I’d love to tell others of the stories I’ve read. I will honor your wishes. If I may, could I write a new chapter for this life? It would be for future generations to learn of your greatness. I believe this may be your greatest story yet.” Azrin smiled at him and closed her eyes. Lovynia was back in control when her eyes opened again.
“It will be an honor to work with you, Alpha Lovynia.” Elder Marks said and went to Sylas. He guided the Elder to a room in his home. Lovynia was excited to learn about the past lives of her wolves. She wondered what happened in their most recent life that made them not want to return. She would ask them one day. She looked out over the crowd and saw Chrissy with the warrior she had eyes for. They had just marked each other and Chrissy was leading him away from the party. She smiled and was happy for her friend. She went inside and up to her room to sleep for the night.
Lovynia had a dream of the same field where she met her wolves. It had been a while since she had that dream. In the distance, she saw a young man with light brown hair and was about 6’ 8” tall. His back was turned to Lovynia so she wasn’t able to see his face. Tabrin and Azrin stirred in her mind. She took several steps closer to the man. He stiffened and turned around. Just before she saw his face, she was in her bed.
“What was that about?” she asked out loud.
“A perk of being our human. We know what our mate looks like before we meet them. We can only give you glimpses. It is not yet time to meet.” Tabrin replied. Lovynia sighed and closed her eyes for a moment. She opened her eyes again and looked out the window to see the dim light of dawn. She decided to get up and see if she could help out anywhere.
Later that day, she saw Chrissy sneaking into the kitchen.
“Need some hydration already?” Lovynia asked, making Chrissy yelp and jump. Lovynia laughed at her friend’s reaction. Chrissy turned around with her hand over her heart.
“Goddess! Don’t scare me like that Lovynia. Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m just getting some water.” She answered with a blush. Lovynia chuckled and helped her with the bottles. She offered to help carry the water to Chrissy’s house.
“That’s alright. You don’t have to. I’m sure you’re busy getting ready for tonight.”
“Actually, I’m really bored and just looking for something to do. Would it be okay if I met your mate? I saw you guys running off to your place last night. Congrats by the way.”
“It should be fine. He was getting dressed for training when I left to get water. He said he’d be back when he was done. Want some breakfast? I make a mean omelet.” Chrissy said. Lovynia agreed and followed her to the house. After they went inside, Lovynia put the water in the fridge while Chrissy got started with the eggs.
“What kind of omelet do you want?” Chrissy asked.
“Just ham and cheese is fine. Nothing fancy.”
“Coming right up. Anthony just linked me that he’s on his way. I’ll make him one too.”
“So, his name is Anthony? That’s a nice name.” Lovynia said. A few minutes later, Lovynia was finishing the last few bites of her breakfast when the front door opened and a tall, built young man entered. His body was glistening from sweat and his muscles were very well-defined. He was 6’7” with short black hair and bright blue eyes. A vey handsome young man. He kissed Chrissy and was about to turn to go to the bedroom when he saw Lovynia from the corner of his eyes. He turned to face her. She stood and approached him with her hand extended.
“It’s nice to meet you. I’m Lovynia.” He smiled and shook her hand.
“Anthony Graives. Nice to meet you as well.” Lovynia liked him for the Beta position, she just hoped he and Chrissy would accept it. He excused himself to get cleaned up from training. Lovynia and Chrissy sat and talked for a bit while they waited. When he returned to the dining room, he picked Chrissy up and sat in her chair with her on his lap. Lovynia smiled at the love they held for each other. She remembered her parents being like that when she was younger.
“You told me you wanted to talk to us about something?” Chrissy said, turning her attention to Lovynia.
“Yes. I wanted to tell you both about a ceremony tonight. Anthony, I’m guessing you know about me at least a little bit. Right?”
“Yes. I know you were brought here by that bastard Kevin. Your wolf also killed him. You’ve been living in a guest room in Sylas’s house. This ceremony is being help to name you as the Alpha and we will officially be a pack again.” He replied.
“That’s correct. What I wanted to talk to you about is the fact that the Beta positions are open. I wanted to name you both as the Beta couple for the pack.” Lovynia told them.
