Samantha's POV
I am sitting in our bed, bored out of my mind since I am not allowed to leave the bed except to use the bathroom.
"Todd, could you run to town and get me some quilting items? I want to start making a quilt since I have to stay in this bed," I tell him.
"What designs would you like me to pick up?" He asks.
"All things nature is fine," I tell him as I lie back down on the bed, relaxing. I turn on Netflix on our TV and start watching my favorite show: Shameless. Since I have nothing to do, I can binge-watch it.
"I will only be gone for an hour, love," Todd says, kissing me on the forehead.
"Don't forget the chocolate. I have been craving sweets, and you won't give them to me," I tell him.
"Okay, but just a little chocolate, not too much," he says and walks out the door.
"At least he's getting us some chocolate," I say to the pups in my belly.
I am lying in bed just relaxing and waiting for Todd to get back when my mother comes over.
"Samantha!" My mother bellows.
"I am in my bedroom!" I yell back.
My mother comes upstairs and walks into the bedroom. "I brought you something," mom says, smiling
"Is it chocolate?" I ask, smiling.
"Now, what kind of mother would I be if I denied you chocolate?" My mother laughs as she pulls out some chocolate and hands it to me.
"This is delicious! Todd has been depriving me of my chocolate; he says it is not good for the pups," I say while eating the chocolate.
"Too much sugar isn't good for the pups, but a little now and then won't harm them," my mom says.
"Don't tell Todd you gave me chocolates. I begged him to buy me some while he went to the store." I look at my mom and smile.
"I won't say a word," my mom says.
"Thank you! He has been making me eat healthy," I tell her.
"He is just making sure that you have a healthy pregnancy," my mom says.
"I know, but I want my regular food, not all this health foodstuff," I say.
"Give him a break. He is just being protective of you since you are on bed rest," my mom says.
"Todd should be home any minute with the twins. He took them shopping with him," I tell her.
"Good, when he gets here, I am taking those two on a shopping spree to help me get baby stuff for you guys," my mom says.
"Honey, I'm home," Todd calls out.
"Where is my chocolate?” I yell, making my mother laugh.
"The twins say no chocolate for you,” he says, coming into the bedroom.
"Then no shopping spree for them with Nana," my mom says.
"Wait. What?" The twins say.
"You two heard me! Give your mother her chocolate, or I won't take you shopping," my mother says.
"Here you go, mommy! But don't overeat chocolate. It is not good for my siblings," Athena says, giving me the chocolate.
"Have fun with Nana, you two," I say, watching them head out
"How’s bed rest?” Todd asks.
"Can't we just go outside and sit in the garden?" I ask him.
"Only if I carry you. You will not be walking anywhere," he tells me.
Todd's POV
Well, we welcomed in the New Year with the pack.
I had to carry Samantha to the ball, because, of course, she is on bed rest, and she hates it. Right now, we only know of three babies that she is carrying, but the doctor is doing weekly visits to see how she is doing.
I am still trying to keep her away from the sweets, but her mother is not helping one bit. I realized that Selene keeps bringing her candy every day, and it is not suitable for the babies. But what can I do about it?
We have our weekly appointment today, and I am hoping to find out for sure how many pups this time.
We are not too worried about the s*x of them. All we want to do is find out how many we are having so that we can be able to get all the rooms set up.
Thor and Athena wish to keep sharing a room; they don't want separate rooms at all. Thor keeps asking us about Doctor Sandra and wondering when she is coming.
"Samantha, dear, Sandra should be here in a few minutes. Are you ready to find out how many pups we are having?" I ask Samantha.
"Yes, I am ready. Could you get me something to eat? And I don't mean that healthy crap that you have been feeding me. I want real food," she says.
"No, I will only give you healthy food until Sandra says you can have other stuff. I know that your mother keeps giving you sweets, and I am not happy about it," I tell her.
"At least my mother cares about me and what I am craving! You won't even get me the stuff that I am craving. You keep giving me the speech that it is not healthy for me. It is your fault I am pregnant!" She tells me.
I stare at Samantha, shocked that she could say that. But I know it is just the hormones talking. Next thing that I know, the doorbell is ringing.
"I will go answer the door. I know that it is probably Doctor Sandra," I say, and leave the bedroom, heading downstairs to open the door.
"Hello, Alpha," Sandra says.
Next thing we know, Thor is running downstairs and looks at Sandra. "Hi," Thor says.
"Hello, little man," Sandra replies.
"Sandra, let's go check on Samantha. She is getting pissed at the diet I have her on," I tell her.
"What kind of diet is that?" She asks me.
"I am only giving her healthy stuff, and she is really mad bout it," I say, shaking my head.
"Oh, I see. Well, let see how she is doing and how the pups are," she says.
We head upstairs to the master bedroom and open the door.
"It is about time! Where is my food?" Samantha says. "Oh sorry, Sandra, I forgot you were here. Todd has been starving me! He won't give me the food I want.” She growls at me.
"Well, let us check to see how the pups are doing, and then maybe we can see about some real food for you, okay?" Sandra says.
"Okay," Samantha says.
Doctor Sandra sets up the ultrasound machine. "Are you ready?" Sandra asks.
"Yes, I am, and I am hungry, also," Samantha says as the doctor puts the gel on her belly.
"Let us see. How many pups did I say the first time?" Sandra asks us.
"Three," Todd replies.
"Look right here," she says, pointing at the screen showing five pups. "There are a total of five healthy pups. And Todd, get your wife some real food or the pups won't be big and healthy," Sandra says.
"Does this mean I can eat anything?" Samantha asks.
"Yes, but you are still on bed rest until the pups are born. Okay, Samantha?" Sandra says.
"Sandra!" Thor comes running into the bedroom. "How many siblings are there, and will you stay for dinner?"
"Well, Thor, you are going to have five siblings. And ask your parents if I can stay," Sandra says.
"I don't have to ask! You are staying for dinner, and that's final,” Thor says, laughing.
"Well, I'll be damned," I say.
"What?" Thor asks.
"Aren’t you a little bossy little man?" Samantha says, laughing.
"I want her to stay for dinner," Thor says.
"I guess you can stay for dinner, Sandra," I say.
Samantha's POV
I hate bed rest, but at least we now have the final count on the pups. Plus, I am happy I don’t have to eat any more healthy food! I can eat what I want to eat!
"Sandra, is it okay if I leave the bed but take it easy?" I ask her.
"You can leave the bed to go eat or to sit in the living room, but that is all," Sandra says.
"That is better than staying in bed all day long," I say.
Todd's POV
I am in the kitchen, making dinner since Thor decided to invite Sandra for dinner.
But I am just going to fix something easy. Maybe my moussaka again, since everybody loves it so much.
Athena comes into the kitchen with wide eyes. "Daddy, is it true what Thor says?"
"What did Thor say?" I ask.
"He says we are having five siblings," she says.
"Yes, princess, mommy is carrying five babies," I tell her.
"Can I go with Nana to buy baby stuff, please Daddy?" She asks me.
"You can go tomorrow when Nana comes to get you two, okay?" I tell her.
"Really, Daddy?!" She screams.
"Woah, what is going on down here?" Samantha says, coming down the stairs with the help of Sandra.
"Daddy says I can go shopping with Nana tomorrow!" Athena screams.
"Princess, inside voice, please," I tell her.
"Sorry, Daddy, I am excited I get to go shopping," Athena whispers, making us all laugh.
"Oh, really," Samantha says.
"Yes, really. Sandra, am I having sisters or brothers?" Athena asks Sandra.
"Your mommy and daddy don't want to know," Sandra says.
"But I need to know so I can buy things!" Athena says
"Well, maybe I can convince them to have me give the news to their parents for you," Sandra says.
"As long as we don't know until the baby shower, then go ahead," I say.
"I will let them know when I leave after dinner, okay?" Sandra says.
"That way, the twins can know what they want to buy their siblings," Samantha says.
"Yes, exactly," Sandra replies.
"Now, I need to set up some nurseries for the new pups, but you will not be helping me, Samantha," I say.
"I can, at least, watch you! I don't need to be stuck in bed all day anymore, just need to take it easy," Samantha says, laughing.
"I know that, hun," I tell her.
"Oh, one of the pups kicked," Samantha says.
"Let me feel," I tell her, and place my hands on her stomach as they kick.
"I am going to sit down. Is dinner ready? I am starving," Samantha says.
"Yes, let me go get it, will you? All, please have a seat," I say, and they all sit in their seats.
I bring out the food and set it in the middle of the table. "Help yourselves," I say, as I watch them all dig in.
"Oh my lord, this is so good," Samantha says as she finishes up her first plate and grabs more.
"I am glad you like it, love, but don't overeat," I say.
"I will eat as much as I want," Samantha says.
"Fine, I will let you be with your food," I tell her.
"You better," Samantha growls at me.
"Uh-oh, mommy growled at daddy," Athena says, giggling.
"Yes, she did," I tell her, laughing.
"Mommy, are you that hungry?" Thor asks.
"Yes, son, I am, your father has been making me eat healthy food," she says.
"I am done," Sandra says, as she stands up and takes her plate into the kitchen.
"When will we see you again?" I ask her.
"If you want, I can come every day just to check on the progress of the pups," Sandra says.
"That would be great," Samantha says.
"I will see you tomorrow, then," Sandra says.
"I will walk you to the door," Thor says, taking Sandra's hand and walking to the front door.
"I will see you tomorrow! Thor, have a good shopping trip with your grandparents," Sandra tells him.
"I will see you tomorrow, Sandra," Thor says.
Sandra's POV
I leave Todd and Samantha's house and head over to Samuel and Selene's house.
I get out of my car and head up to the front door. Knocking, I wait for someone to answer the door.
"Oh hi, dear, it is you! Come on in," Selene says, letting me into the house.
"Thank you, Luna," I say.
"How are you doing today?" Selene asks me.
"I am fine. I just left Todd and Samantha's house. They say I could tell you what they are having, so when you take the twins shopping tomorrow, you know what all you need to buy," I tell her.
"And what are they having?" Samuel asks as he walks into the living room with coffee for all of us.
"Well, they are having three boys and two girls," I tell them.
"That is good news," Samuel says.
"Selene, may I ask you a simple question about mates since you are the Moon Goddess?" I ask.
"That is my cue to leave," Samuel says, laughing.
"Yes, you may, dear," Selene replies.
"Is it possible that my mate is not of age yet, and he already knows that I am his mate?" I ask her.
"And who may this gentlemen be that you are talking about?" Selene asks.
"Your grandson, Thor. He is smitten with me, and I am just wondering if he may be my mate?" I ask.
"It is possible," Selene tells me.
"So you’re not going to tell me? Just let it be?" I ask her, and she shakes her head no.
"I am not going to spoil anything," Selene says.
"Well, I will be heading home, then. Good night, Luna," I tell her as I leave their house.
Samantha's POV
I decided to call my mom to see if she knows why Thor is so smitten with Sandra.
I am waiting for my mother to answer her phone while I am having Todd paint my toenails a bright pink
"Mom, I got a question for you," I say when she finally picks up her phone.
"And what is your question?" She asks.
"Is Sandra Thor’s mate?" I ask.
"Yes, he is, but they are not to know until Thor is older, okay?" She tells me.
"I was also wondering what time you will be here to pick up the twins in the morning," I ask.
"I will be there about nine," she says.
"Okay, Mom, goodnight, I love you," I say.
"Night sweetie, love you, too," she says as we hang up the phone.
"Todd, you missed a spot," I yell at him.
"What do you mean? I'm not even finished yet," he says.
"You forgot my big toe,” I say with a smile.
"That one is not going to be pink. I am putting blue on that one," he says.
"Oh, okay," I say.
Todd's POV
I have been up since one in the morning with a crying wife. The babies won't let her sleep with their kicking.
"Are you hungry, love?" I ask Samantha.
"Yes, but I don't think I can move," Samantha says.
"Breakfast in bed, it is," I say, and head downstairs to start making her breakfast.
The kids have already left with our parents. I decide to make pancakes, French toast, waffles, and eggs. I put it all on plates and put it on a tray. I go upstairs with the tray and head to bed.
"Breakfast is served," I say.
"Oh my god, Todd, all this for me?" Samantha gasps.
"Yes, love, it’s all for you," I say.
"Did you--?" She starts.
"Bring the hot sauce and chocolate syrup?" I finish as I hand them to her.
"Thank you," she says while putting the chocolate syrup and hot sauce on everything.
"You have a weird way of eating," I say.
Samantha ends up punching me in the arm.
"Ouch, what was that for?" I ask, rubbing my arm.
"You called me weird, go away," she says.
"But I love you," I tell her.
"I said go away," she says, throwing the bottle of hot sauce at me as I run out of the room.
She has been cranky lately. I might have her mom come and help her out for a while. I am tired of her throwing stuff at me, and it is getting dangerous
"Samantha, babe," I say, knocking on the bedroom door, not daring to go inside.
"Todd, I am so sorry, come in please," she says.
I walk inside the bedroom and see that she has been crying. "What's wrong, love?" I ask her.
"I am sorry that I got mad at you; it’s not your fault. It’s these pups," she says, holding her belly.
"I know, love. Just stop throwing stuff at me, please," I say.
"I will just make sure. You keep the babies happy and don't call me weird," Samantha says.
