Chapter one:Is this all about the pendant again??
"Hey, you wanna join us for some soccer training?" Dan asked Layla who was constantly shooting arrows in the air. Layla was silent, it seems like she is trying to come up with something but she's failing.
Dan, Xander and Layla are dorm room mates and they always hang around together. It's just a week that they all got enrolled as a student in the military base. But these three students are fond of each other so much that they never leave each other. Many rumoured them to be triplets or brothers and sisters but only Layla and the others knew that they are just best friends.
"Are you okay Layla?" Xander asked noticing the worried look on Layla's face. They are all outside their dorm rooms having a good time at the beach, it was due to the fact that there are no lessons yet. So the teachers permitted them to enjoy themselves while the week lasts.
Xander tapped Layla who immediately jerked out of her thoughts. It seems like she was lost in thought. But what exactly is she thinking?
"What?! What Happened??" Layla asked, trying to catch up with what is happening around her.
"You mean you didn't hear us talking since? I bet you have not been listening to all our discussions for the past two hours now. Huh?" Dan asked, feeling a little bit surprised and also worried.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me. Could you repeat all what you've said before?" Layla requested.
"Wait! all what we have been saying for the past two hours now?" Dan shouted out of disbelief.
"Why are you sweating in a cold weather like this? beside a beach." Xander asked.
Layla cleaned her face with the handkerchief she had with her. She had refused to remove her clothes when Xander and Dan told her to, because of the beach.
She's a little bit shy or let us say, she's acting maturely. Layla is not that kind of girl who you think she is. She is so different, really really different and special.
"Would you have a soccer match with us? I heard from Xander how your legs were accurate and fast while playing soccer. You could defend the ball for us, you know." Dan tried to call Layla into the team.
"It's not a Competitive one though. There won't be any trouble this time around, unlike the previous one." Xander said meekly and Layla just gave him a deadly stare.
"What happened in the previous match?" Dan asked as he noticed the stare that Layla gave Xander and the way Xander spoke, shows that he is sorry and also fearing to speak out.
"I'm really sorry about it Layla. I should not have done that. I was just worried about you." Xander begged Layla. She turned her gaze back to the beach as she picked up more arrows and shoot it out into the sky. Her aim was for the arrow to get to the sun. The sun was scorching her skin badly, causing her to sweat. She's been wondering what was causing her to sweat so badly and she had gotten her answer by seeing the hot sun peeping out on her.
She can't stay too long in the sun and still she don't want to leave the beach now.
She wasn't like this before, her skin can withstand a little bit of the afternoon sun but now that everything seems to change, she can't even stay in the morning sun for a few minutes or her skin will start burning. Her skin that is rough, and fair in colour is now a fragile and white skin that can't endure much sun or suffering.
' Is it because of what happened with the pendant?' Layla thought within herself.
"What's happening among you guys. You're not talking, you're not smiling... especially Layla. And none of you are replying all the questions that I've been asking. Do you guys want a beating before you can talk?" Dan shouted, putting a little bit of Joke into his words.
"Sorry... the last match. After we won the watch against our Opponents, they all started meeting Layla for some discussion. They even hold her hands and rested on her. But I tried to stop her and.. and.. and.." Xander stammered as he was afraid to speak out the next sentences.
"Will you quit that fake stammering and say what you have to say!" Dan shouted again. He don't know why but he's having a bad feeling that something fishy is going on. Xander is about to drop a bomb and he don't know how it will affect him. Should he tell him to stop or not? But still, he must at least know what it's all about. Perhaps he killed someone, or maybe he beat Layla or something.
"I.. I.. I was furrowed with anger when I heard one of them trying to take Layla as his girlfriend. I can't help but kick the boy in the ass to save Layla. But they got me cornered, asking if I was her boyfriend." Xander explained. He was scared and was worried on how Layla would feel now that he's reminding her what had happened at the ball court yesterday.
They promised to let me go if I was Layla's boyfriend. I know they meant what they said and according to their religion, they don't have any relationship with girls who have partners of their own. So if I tell them that Layla is my girlfriend they will leave me and her alone." Xander said.
"So then, what happened?" Dan was getting impatient. He can't wait to hear what happened next. He is clenching his fists, ready to launch it at Xander anytime.
"I told them that Layla was my girlfriend but they all stopped for a while. That was when Ray sunshield appeared with his gangs." Xander replied.
"Ray? the son of one our world leaders?" Dan asked.
"Yeah, he's the one over every of the boys present in this school. And I heard that not all the boys under him are students. Like the ones that came to challenge me if I was Layla's boyfriend." Xander said.
.He is right. They are not students, they only came because the school is yet to begin the normal lessons. So these guys are here because Ray had requested from his father who is the world leader over the world and over the milliary school base.
The boys had came purposely to drive fear into the hearts of all the students before the real lesson begins. They behave anyhow and act like thugs. Actually, they are thugs under the rule of Ray, the son of the world leader.
If the son is like this, how much more would the father be? ×4 of what the son is. The father is a cruel man who is not fit to be among the world leaders. But corruption and bribery made him to have a seat among the leaders. Now that his son is getting older, he is also going to the same path as that of his father.
Normally, only students are allowed to enter the military school but since Ray's father is one of the leader, they were able to do as they wish. No one could complain about this or else they would have been a dead meat now.
"They explained to ray what they noticed in Layla and then, Ray started having interest in her but before he could do anything, I kissed Layla and the eyes of everyone of them was widened." Xander explained. It was at that moment that Layla stood up. She had not been listening to Xander's explaination, there's a lot in her mind and she feel weary due to the temperature of the sun.
She stood up from where she was seated as she moved towards the beach for a closer look. She made sure she moved far away from where Xander and Dan are seated.
She dipped her hands into the wet sand and immediately she felt something empowering her. A shock was sent to her body but it wasn't painful as it only lasted a second. She quickly removed her hands from where she dipped it in and felt her skin glowing whiter than before.
"What the hell is happening?" Layla asked, surprised on what had just happened now. "Did the sand just shocked me now?" Mia asked, disbelieving what happened to her.
While she was busy admiring her hands, she saw a large wave flowing right above her. The waves towered against her, blocking the harshy sun that almost burnt off her skin. Layla was shocked as she saw this. The students around were also frightened that they all shouted for Layla to come quickly to them.
Layla heed to their advice as she ran towards Dan and Xander but amazingly, the wave died down as soon as Layla stood up from where she was seated at the wet region of the beach.
It was like a dream, they couldn't believe a wave like could just rise up and also go back to it's position without falling back to the sea. The wave resembled a ghost standing up and also sleeping back in it's position.
' This is really getting out of hand. What exactly is wrong with me? Why is everything I touch obeying my commands? The arrow I shot went straight for the sun, surprisingly.' Layla thought. ' Is this all about the pendant again??'
Talking about the pendant, let us know what exactly happened that caused all this strange occurrence to be happening.
