“Hello, everyone. Thank you for your hard work,” the guy greeted. “Good evening, Sir Jayden,” Marisson said. Joffiel was shocked when she saw a familiar face and realized that their boss is also a young guy. “Good evening, Sir,” Joffiel greeted. “So, you’re the new manager right? Do you have spare time that you could give me?” Jayden asked. “Of course, Sir Jayden. I have plenty of time today,” Joffiel answered. “Then come with me to my office,” Jayden said. “Is there anything that you wanted me to do, Sir Jayden?” Marisson asked. “Would you prepare me a piece of cake that this girl brought a while ago?” Jayden replied. “Yes, sir. I’ll bring it to you in your office. How about your beverage, Sir?” Marisson replied. “Just bring me my favorite drinks,” Jayden said. Jayden and Joffiel wents to Jayden’s office. “I heard you are Marisson’s recommendation. Is that true?” Jayden asked. “Yes, Sir. It was indeed me,” Joffiel answered. “I don’t know if you realized this already, but I only hire people that are kind and honest. That explains your exam and interview during your application,” Jayden said. Joffiel nodded. She tried to use the eyes of discernment to Jayden and realized how pure Jayden's heart is. “You’re familiar. Are you the one that sat on the rock during the last time?” Jayden asked. Joffiel realizes that it’s Jayden that told her not to make a rock as a seat. She said, “Yes, that would be me.” Jayden laughs. He said, “It’s really funny seeing a beautiful girl doing something like that.” “Don’t laugh, I’m just resting during that time,” Joffiel said. “Fine, fine. Don’t do that again, especially now that you are my employee,” Jayden said. “Is there anything wrong with doing that?” Joffiel asked. “Nothing, well you can do that if you want. But don’t be shocked that you’ll gather a lot of attention,” Jayden said. Joffiel does not want too much attention so she just agreed with Jayden. Marisson came in with Joffiel’s cake and jug of water and cups. “Water?” Joffiel said. “What? Are you surprised that it’s my favorite drink? Is this your first time knowing someone’s favorite drink is water?” Jayden asked. “No, no. I also knew someone like that. It was-” Joffiel said as she stopped since she realized who that guy is. It was also him. His name is also Jayden, so there’s no doubt about this. Maybe I should confirm it. Joffiel thought to herself. “Oh, so it’s not your first time, huh?” Jayden said. “Nope, this might be a weird question. But, is your favorite color blue?” Joffiel asked. “How did you know? This office does not even have a blue color and I’m not even wearing that color today,” Jayden said. So that’s it. He’s really that guy. Well, the older version of Jayden from that time also looks so perfect. I bet he’s popular with girls. Joffiel thought to herself. “Oh, I remember your clothes that time that you scolded me,” Joffiel said. “You even remember that? But you didn’t realize it’s me at first. Why did you even ask me for my favorite color?” Jayden asked. “Well, I usually based my initial interpretation on the personality of a person,” Joffiel said. “Really? You do things like that? Anyway, let me have a taste of this cake,” Jayden said. “Don’t be surprised, you’ll realize how delicious it is compared to what’s available in your shop,” Joffiel said. “Wow, that’s a big assumption you got there,” Jayden said. Why am I like this to him? This is not my personality around other people. Joffiel said to herself. Jayden tasted the cake and as every expected, he was astonished. “You’re really confident in your words since this cake is extraordinary. I’m glad that you were hired here and not at another shop. We might be overtaken by the other company if that had happened,” Jayden said. “Well, thank you, Sir,” Joffiel said. “So did you already have a name for these cakes?” Jayden asked. “I’m still not thinking about that, I’ll ask Marisson for help in naming it,” Joffiel replied. “I see, Marisson is great at many things so you could rely on her,” Jayden said. “I’ve been meaning to ask, do you have a boyfriend?” Jayden asked. “No, I don’t have any. Are you trying to hit on me?” Joffiel asked. “No, no. I’ll not do something like that to my employee. I just want to know since there are many rules in this company. Since you are still not attending any seminar about that, you still don’t know many things,” Jayden said. “Okay, if you say so,” Joffiel replied. “Oh? Are you expecting me to hit on you?” Jayden said as if he’s teasing Joffiel. “What? No way, I’ve just experienced something like that,” Joffiel answered. “Well, with that kind of beauty, you are really a magnet to those kinds of things. This world is really full of people like that, so be careful what you are doing,” Jayden said. “Yes, I’ll keep that in mind,” Joffiel answered. “Okay, since you’re already here. Let’s talk about what will happen during the opening of the shop that you will manage,” Jayden said. “Okay, sir!” Joffiel replied. “So for starters, the opening of a new branch is a very big event for our company. It involves a proper handling of events and outstanding performance from the employee. This basically determines if the new branch will be successful in the future or not,” Jayden said. “Okay, Sir. I’m already aware of something like that,” Joffiel said. “That’s good. The next thing is the new item. I know that you’re also aware of that, but let’s go on for the details. The new item would be the icon of the event. People will surely line up for that item so you should be extra prepared before the event comes,” Jayden said. “I’ll keep that in mind, Sir,” Joffiel replied. “So aside from having a great menu item, the execution of the event is also highly rated. So meaning, your coordination skill will be tested. For the time being, I’ll let Marisson accompany you for this event since the image of our company is on the line. Not that I don’t have trust in you, I just wanted to have a successful event, especially a branch that is near our main company building,” Jayden said. “Okay, Sir. I understand if it's something like that. But I would still do my best, learn new things and make the event successful through my efforts,” Joffiel replied. “Okay, the publicity team will handle all the advertisement but feel free to suggest things that you wanted to happen since you’re the manager of that coffee shop,” Jayden added. Joffiel nodded while taking notes of what her boss was saying. “Another thing is that you should be patient with all of the customers, since we are a big company, the occurrence of having a bad customer would not be avoided. Especially during the opening, some people wanted to sabotage our rating so you needed to be keen at all times,” Jayden said. “Human beings are really like that, huh? Pulling each other down,” Joffiel said. “We could not blame them, sometimes it's the work of the devil,” Jayden answered. “Finally, whatever happens, put on your smile. You’re beautiful face shines brightly if you put on your biggest smile,” Jayden said while smiling at Joffiel. “Okay, I’m not convinced when you say you're not hitting me up,” Joffiel said. Jayden laughs but gets on a serious mode. He said, “I’m sorry, are you offended by something like that?” Joffiel makes a serious face but after a while, she laughs. She said, “Did I get you there? I’m just kidding. It’s fine for me, those things do not matter to me.” “You made me nervous, I thought I did something wrong with my employee. Anyway, that’s all for me. Do you have any questions?” Jayden said. “Hmm? What’s your personal goal in this company?” Joffiel asked. “Do I have any? Hmm? I just want to help many people as much as I can. I want to build a company that is full of kind and happy people. I don’t even plan on making this company operate nationwide. Yes, I think that’s only my personal goal. Of course the company goal is different. Why did you ask?” Jayden said. “I just wanted to know how my boss thinks, this would help a lot in deciding things for the company,” Joffiel said. “I see, so is that all?” Jayden asked. “Yes, I don’t have anything to ask,” Joffiel replied. “Then you may go. Thank you for your delicious cake. I’ll look forward to seeing it in the market. Also, if you’re going home you could let Marisson know that she could also leave early, she done too much for this week so let her know that I wanted her to rest,” Jayden said. Joffiel leaves the office and meets with Marisson. As she said what Jayden had said, both of them decided to go home. “So how was our boss,” Marisson asked. “I think he’s cool?” Joffiel answered. “Really? Are you interested in him?” Marisson asked. “No way, he’s my boss. I should not think that way,” Joffiel answered. “He’s handsome and almost perfect, what kind of guy are you looking for?” Marisson asked. “I’m not interested in that kind of stuff you know,” Joffiel answered. “Well, our boss, Sir Jayden does not have any girlfriend even with his perfect personality and appearance. I just thought someone like you could change things up,” Marisson said. “It’s up to destiny, but I’m pretty sure that I would not end up loving him,” Joffiel said.
