“We only have today and tomorrow to get the horses ready.” Gittie had pulled her cowboy boots on and was headed towards the barn. “Now, these people coming on Wednesday are not experienced riders—one of them maybe, but since it’s a guy I’m not sure how much of that is bragging. You never know with those tourists, especially the men. They may have sat on a horse once or twice in their lives, but they’re so full of bravado from having watched a million Westerns that they think John Wayne’s got nothing on them. So, while we have them fill out questionnaires about their experience before or right when they get here, we never fully believe them.”
