“Never mind that, whatever it was. I need you.” Now that she had Jesse’s attention, Gittie stopped and shoved her phone in the back pocket of her jeans. “I just spoke with Jody. She can’t make it this afternoon. One of her boarder’s horses colicked and she’s on her way to the vet with it.”
And? Surely between them, she and Gittie would manage to help everyone saddle up.
“I need you to ride out with us, in case one of the guys has…well…problems. Now I know that, strictly speaking, you have no experience either, but they can’t know that.”
“Fake it until you make it?”
“Something like that.” Gittie was smiling now. “You can do it. I have faith in you. Besides, you can ride Spotty.”
