In some ways, Nicole was relieved when Jesse all but flew off the patio. It’s not like she was dying to address what had happened. But it had been on her mind all day. And half the night, really, because she wasn’t sure she even went back to sleep at all after what had happened. She was well aware when Jesse had bolted wordlessly back to her room.
