The Dinner

458 Words
Lisa was really nervous and confused about the dinner so she revised all the recipes she was going to make several times in her mind. Cindy had also come over after work and it was almost time for her to leave. “Lisa, will you stop moving around the room, you are making me feel nervous.” “Cindy, if something goes wrong I will miss my opportunity. I am scared what should I do.” Cindy held Lisa by her shoulder and forced her on the couch “Take a deep breath and trust me you can do it, you are the best.” After a few minutes when Lisa calmed down a little they went to ‘The Dinner’ (restaurant’s name). A car was sent for her by the restaurant; Cindy forced her into the car and wished her luck. After 20 minutes, she was in front of ‘The Dinner’. Lisa was mesmerized by the beauty of the restaurant which sent chills to her body making her nervous again if she could match the expectations of the No. one restaurant.   She was dressed elegantly and when she entered ‘The Dinner’ her beauty captured the heart of the owner and all the other staff. Christen came forward breaking the tension and leading her to the kitchen. “You have 30 minutes to cook the dinner, get to work.” Lisa calmed herself down and started with the preparations.  Within 25 minutes the food was served. “Brother I hope you can tell by the odor and look of the food that it would be delicious.” Christen teased her brother. “Let’s eat it without wasting time. Lisa please join us.” Lisa nodded and quietly sat in the empty seat next to Oliver. After eating her food everyone praised her at the end Oliver made the decision “Your food is too good to be real so you won’t be a temporary replacement but I appoint you as a permanent chef of ‘The Dinner’. Be here at nine tomorrow with all your necessary paperwork.” Lisa smiled excitedly and thanked Oliver then everyone clapped for her and congratulated her. After the dinner Lisa cleaned the kitchen until then everyone had left except Oliver. “It is late now, I will drop you home.” “Thank you but I will call my friend, you don’t need to worry.” “It will take a lot of time, come sit in the car.” Oliver opened the door for her so she could not argue any further and sat in the car saying a thank you. Oliver tried to start a conversation thrice but because she was not used to talking much those conversations ended soon so to avoid the awkward silence Oliver turned on the music and they silently reached home. Lisa stepped out of the car “Thank you” “It’s fine, take care and good night.” “Good night sir” “Be on time tomorrow” “Yes”
