"Well you are alive." Jasmine smacked my arm and don"t judge me, but I almost fell on the floor. I was still recovering from my flu and my body is still weak, so yeah I almost kissed the floor.
"I guess you missed me?" I will never get this girl. She is too hard to read sometimes. But then she grinned at me and gave me a hug, not a too tight one.
"Nah. I was fine without you around." See? Too hard to read. Did you miss me or not woman. Just tell me. Because if you didn"t then I guess I have to look for a new best friend. "It was kind of quite actually. I mean... Since you are the clumsy girl of the school... No one has tripped over air and fell into something disgusting or over hot guys. By the way, how is Midnight?"
I rolled my eyes feeling too tired to talk about what happened during this whole week. It"s a whole week to talk about. I might as well loose my voice during my confess. A lot happened this week. And I couldn"t help my smile at some of them. "He is fine. And came to visit me a few times." Every single night actually.
He cared about me right? Because he took care of me... Made me feel better. And if he didn"t, he wouldn"t do that. Right?
"Whose jacket is that?" I don"t have to say that I blushed. And as I did, she gave me the most wide grin ever seen in the life of anyone. I think her cheekbones will hurt later. But hey? Who am I to say that to her? Besides, I want to see her in pain after what she had done to me. I mean, forcing and blackmailing me to tell her my sucked up love life, is a very painful torture.
"Aiden"s?" Well done Ryder. An answer that is actually a question. Why can"t I be normal? It would be very helpful.
And here comes the exciting scream.
"Ai-what?" I"m pretty sure the whole school heard her and my cheeks turned redder when I saw most of the students turning their eyes on us. Being noticed by everybody is a pain in the butt for me and my face deals with it. "So you are a thing?" Jasmine was at the point of not understanding the difference between normal talking and screaming, because she kept screaming the questions like it was the most normal thing in the world. How can screaming to your best friend who is less than one meter away from you, in the middle of a full of students hallway, be normal?
"Shut the popcorn up!" I have no idea where the popcorn came from. "If you details, we have to talk like normal people. Even though we aren"t and we just have to pretend to be." I rolled my eyes at the last sentence.
Shutting her mouth close, Jasmine looked at me with exiting eyes as she nodded eagerly. This girl. If anything is about boys or problems with boys, she will eagerly hear everything. And if I start talking about math, she will fall asleep faster than I could call her name.
I explained to her how the after concert adventure went, and how he gave me his jacket, which I haven"t stopped wearing since the moment he gave it to me. To be honest, it was comfortable and it kept me warm, so I had no plans on taking it off, but since it wasn"t mine, I had to give it back to him. Life is cruel most of the times.
"So you are a thing now?" She asked for the second time and I rolled my eyes at her. Couldn"t she ask an other question? One that I could answer without blushing.
"No?" Apparently I couldn"t make a proper answer, since all of them came out as questions. What is happening to me? Jasmine"s eyes looked disappointed and I rolled my eyes again. "I don"t get you. You want me to be with Aiden and then tell me that Midnight is cooler and then you are team Aiden again. Make up your mind already."
"It"s unfair that you have too many hot boys talking to you." She frowned.
"How do you know Midnight is hot? You haven"t seen his face. I haven"t seen his face. Heck! You haven"t even heard his voice." Jasmine smirked at me and I kind of got tired from the amount of the eye rolling I was doing lately.
"I can feel his hotness from miles away."
"You"re an idiot."
"But I"m your only friend." I have Midnight.
I felt someone approaching me from behind, but like the clumsy girl I am, I turned around to see who it as and slipped at the floor and bumped at the only one and only Aiden Caley. He managed to catch me before I would end up kissing the floor and probably taking him with me. It wouldn"t be a first though.
"Careful." He smiled and I gave him a small one from mine but sure as hell it was an embarrest one. "How are you?" He digged his hands in his pockets, as his smile didn"t leave his face.
"Fine." And then I remembered for his jacket and frowned. Well it was the right thing to do. Even thought it was painful. I mentally whipped away some fake tears before handing him the jacket. "I forgot to give you this."
"Oh!" Aiden frowned as well, while Jasmine was looking at us like we were some kind of rare bugs. What a friend she is. Aiden raised his eyes to me and with the frown still in his lips he talked. "I think it looked better on you." And the smile appeared. "You can keep it if you want."
"He is so hot!" Jasmine whispered. Well she tried to whisper because both of us heard it and Aiden was giving her a weird look. Me on the other side just felt so embarrassed I wanted to bury myself.
"Thank you." I smiled at Aiden who turned his eyes to me again. For sure Jasmine wasn"t even thinking about blushing, let alone to do it but whatever.
"I actually came to ask you if you wanted to eat lunch with me." He was blushing lightly, and his hand was scratching the back of his head nervously. How I love when he does that. "And my friends of course." He added quickly. "If you want Jasmine can come too. I mean if you want to come..."
"Of course she wants." Jasmine slapped hard my back, almost letting me breathless as I choked from the strong impact. She rolled her eyes and kept grinning to Aiden, as he was looking at me worried. Help! I"m dying.
"Idiot." I choked to her.
"Your only friend." She grinned at me.
I seriously need a new friend.
After the Chemistry class, Aiden was waiting for me at the door, leaning against the wall, as his eyes were glued to the floor. I froze on my spot as I have to admit that I drooled over him for like five minutes. He actually meant it. And he came to my class. I need to breath. How do humans breath?
"Hi!" I smiled to him as I finally found out that breathing was just getting the air in your lungs and the letting it out. Aiden turned to see me and the frown from before disappeared. He smiled at me.
"Hi! Ready to go?" I nodded and was about to walk, when I felt his hand grabbing mine. That made me stop and my legs shook. For a moment I thought I would fall in the floor. But his hand squeezed mine and I kind of came to my sense and kept walking like a tomato down the hallway.
For the rest of the lunch I kept staring at my hand, like it was an alien. I think I have mental problems. Some eyes were glued to me, and I raised my head to face with Aiden smiling sheepishly. He was sat next to me and somehow his arm had fell behind my back, brushing it lightly.
"Ryder..." I gulped as he called my name. And then choked on my own saliva. I can as well die.
"I"m sorry. What were you saying?" The mumble came out of my mouth as I finally stopped acting like a fool.
"Do you want to go to the park with me after class? We can walk for a while... And I will drop you home..."
"O-okay." My voice shook and I smiled at him. Jasmine on the other side wiggled her eyebrows at me. "I will see you after class then." And with that said I grabbed Jasmine and ran away like a lion was chasing me. What the heaven?
"Ryder! You"re the most lucky i***t in this school." She jumped up and down clapping her hands, looking like a five year old girl. My friend everyone!
"Shut up."

When the math class ended, I was so lost in my thoughts, I didn"t even felt Aiden walking to me. His hand landed on my shoulder. It"s warmth was comforting and almost familiar for some reasons that I didn"t know.
"I..." The words stuck on my throat and I couldn"t talk. How many people have gone through this, I have no idea, but it feels awful. To don"t know what to say...
Aiden smiled at me and I got up from my seat as he took once more my hand on his. It was like to him it was the most normal thing in the world while I had troubles with breathing every time he did that. But when I raised my head to see him, I noticed his cheeks turned to a light red. He was blushing.
The walk to the park was quite and none of us talked. No one knew what to say. But I felt comfortable with him. It was like I had some kind of a familiar feeling. I liked it, but at some point it scared me. How was that possible?
My eyes fell to our hands keeping each other. It looked so normal and yet it felt so weird. The good kind of weird. Aiden didn"t let go of my hand for a moment. It was almost like he was trying to find courage at my holding. Like it was giving to him strength. He looked so lost in thoughts, I didn"t bother to talk to him. Like I knew what to say anyway.
"Thank you for coming with me." His voice broke the silence. I gave him a shaky smile as his grip on my hand tightened. "You are special Ryder. One of a kind." He whispered and I thought I lost it. What the heaven is he talking about, and why my heart is beating like it had run 5 miles?
I opened my mouth to say something, which was probably going to be something stupid. But no words came out of my mouth. "Ry!" A voice called me from a distance. I turned to see Jack waving at me, while he walked to us. Immediately, Aiden"s grip on my hand tightened, and for some unknown reasons to mankind, he frowned. Or maybe even glared at Jack. "Ry! I got to see you again. How are you doing?"
"I..." I started to say, but cut off, by Aiden"s angry voice. "Who are you?" My head snapped to him and I frowned. What the freaking M&M got to him?
"I"m Jack. Ry and I are friends." Jack answered so casually that it kind of scared me. It was like he knew me for years or such a thing. But I have seen the guy only three times. And I never said to him we were friends or gave him the clue that we might be.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?" I said to Jack, and without looking at probably glaring face of Aiden, I grabbed Jack"s wrist and pulled him away from Aiden. "What the hell is wrong with you? I don"t know you." My voice was low but threatening.
"Yeah, but we can know each other." He smirked me. Just seeing that smirk I knew it hid all of those dirty thoughts that made me sick. He was sick.
"Leave me alone. I don"t want you to talk to me again, or I will call the police the next time I see you being near me." What is wrong with these people? Can"t they just leave other people alone in their business?
I walked away from the freak, but couldn"t make three steps as he grabbed my arm forcefully and turned me to him again. He was still smirking but I knew he was hiding an evil glare behind that pretty face. "Come on pretty girl. I don"t bite." I freaked out from the look in his eyes. He was crazy.
I tried to free myself, but before I could let out a sound or anything, a punch connected with Jack"s face, causing him to fall in the ground. Aiden was glaring hard at him. Like he was trying to bury him six feet under the ground just by looking at him. "Don"t you dare to touch her."
Jack was angry. I could tell that, by the way he was seeing Aiden, or the way he formed his fists which were being cruel with the grass around. But he was scared. Jack didn"t dare to say anything. Not a single word as Aiden kept glaring at him. Me on the other side watched the whole thing from behind Aiden"s back. He was hiding me from him. Actually one of his hands was formed into a fist, like trying to control his anger, as the other hand was keeping me behind him.
After a long time spent into staring at each other, Jack got up and walked away, muttering something that sounded like "f**k it!" and left us. Aiden didn"t turn to see me until Jack was out of the sight.
"Are you okay?" He looked worried. Not pretending, not acting. It was pure worry. That made me smile. Which made him smile as well. And soon we were smiling to each other like freaks in the middle of the park. "If anyone..." He started to say, braking the smile. "If anyone dares to touch you again, just tell me. I will take care for the rest." I blushed. Like always.
Looks like I found myself a knight in a shining armour.
