Three - New Bosses In Town

4043 Words
Knightly’s P.O.V Humans. They were everywhere in this town and for the first time ever I socialized with them in large amounts. Where we used to live, the humans stayed far away from us even though they didn’t know that we weren’t part of their race. We stayed concealed and grew most of our food, except meat which of course we hunted. It only natural for predators like us to hunt – the thrill of the chase and especially the kill dulled our animalistic need to kill everything that looks like food and helped with our short tempers. In any case, humans always intrigued me and yet at the same time disgusted me. They are such odd creatures truthfully. They boast of intelligence and yet they were so foolish and oblivious. They boasted of peace and tolerance and yet they were the most judgmental creatures; more so than vampires and everything disgusts vampires. Humans were just so….stupid…and kind of irritating and desperate and really slutty. I didn’t quite understand the concept to be honest. What about mates? Don’t they commit to their mates or do they have multiple ones? I sat in their cafeteria watching them with mild interest as they tried to discreetly stare at the pack. The wolves with me were the ones that were of the mate-finding age. My father thought that it would be good for us to interact with humans so that we could gain advantage over the other packs. We had primal strength and ferocity but not really any ‘street-smarts’ when it came to humans. Thus, he enrolled us in this school. I liked it. It was simple enough. We knew everything about human intelligence from economics to law to stuff like medicine. We had to if we wanted to financially maintain the pack and now we were here for the social maintenance of the pack. An attractive brunette girl with big hazel eyes skipped merrily over to our table, making the pack members glance up in avid interest. The girls just stared at her questioningly while the guys assessed her beauty. She was dressed in what seemed to be a cheer leading outfit with her hair in a high ponytail. “Hi!” she chirped in a high pitched voice, making us wince a little. Dammit, how does she get her voice like that? Why would she do that? It’s so painfully irritating…literally. “I’m Dana Jacobs, head cheerleader. I just wanted to welcome you guys to our school” she continued, straining her lips into a huge smile. I smiled back politely. “Hello, Dana. I’m Knightly King. We just moved here from Ontario.” Her grin widened and she began playing with her ponytail, smiling weirdly at me. I glanced to Rochelle, a girl in my pack, questioningly but she just shrugged. “Well, Knightly, maybe we should hang sometime” she replied in a low seductive voice. I struggled to keep the laughter in at her weird methods of flirting. Is that how humans flirt? I was about to answer when Kara spoke up. “We’d love to hang out with you” she smiled at Dana with a playful glint in her eye. “Wouldn’t we guys?” she asked turning to the rest of us. I smiled at Kara. She was always like this…teasing people. ‘uh’s and ‘uhm’s were muttered around the group as they looked away trying to avoid answering. Jaigo rolled his eyes but looked straight at Dana giving her his famous smirk, that he gave any human he came into contact with. I think he was just always excited to meet weird creatures. “Actually, yes, we would. I wouldn’t mind hanging out with her.” Jaigo spoke up, glancing up at Dana and winking. The human flushed, her cheeks turning red. “Actually, that won’t be happening. I don’t want my girlfriend hanging out with certain types of people” a voice interrupted. I looked up to see – what’s his name…Connor? Yes, Connor wrapping his arm around Dana’s petite waist and pulling her into his side. Dana rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. “And what types of people would that be?” Jaigo challenged daringly. I stared on in amusement. This human just doesn’t give up but Jaigo was always up for a fight and he wouldn’t hesitate to kick a human ass just because they are weaker – he was a wolf after all, even though he was my third in command. Connor glanced away nervously, scowling and muttering something under his breath. My eyes widened as my sensitive hearing picked up the angry ‘stupid fags’ that came from him. Jaigo jumped up from his seat, seething. I could see his internal fight with his wolf for control. “I think you should leave, Connor” I warned in an alpha tone, trying not to get pissed off. This human had some nerve insulting us like that. “Who the hell do you think you are? You can’t just show up here and decide that you are going to rule this school. No, that position has been filled as you can see” He retorted rudely, gesturing a bunch of humans of similar build to his, all wearing the same jackets. I glanced at them and then back at him. “Well, then maybe it’s time for new leadership” I answered coolly, standing up and giving him a cold stare. I couldn’t tolerate the insolence coming off of this human in waves. His rudeness was unnecessary and wrongly placed. I could crush him like the pathetic pest he is and bury in an unmarked grave where no one would find him. I doubt anyone would miss this i***t. The bunch of humans that he had gestured stood up and rushed over to our table. I looked at them amusedly. What were they going to do? Intimidate us to death? There were only about 18 of them, all standing behind Connor and his girlfriend who was wriggling uncomfortably in his grip. He only tightened it as his eyes blazed in anger, making her stiffen and keep still. The jocks – I believe they call them – puffed out their chests daringly, scowling at us. I couldn’t contain the laughter that came out of my mouth. Really? They thought they could take us. The whole pack started to snigger at the humans’ attempt to intimidate us. They may outnumber us by 3 and be only guys but even our women were stronger than their men. I held a hand up to silence them, barely containing my own laughter. “Come on, guys, don’t laugh at them… They don’t know that they don’t stand a chance” I chuckled to my pack. “You won’t be saying that when we kick your asses…and maybe take your women as well… a gift, maybe? You dudes are outnumbered by what 10?” he snorted, smirking at Kara. “No actually by 3… One of the guys isn’t here right now…” I corrected, smirking. “But that isn’t a problem for us” “What you’re going to make the girls fight? Wow, what kind of guy would let a woman fight his battles for him?” he scoffed, looking disgusted. “Oh but we wouldn’t want to be chauvinistic now would we? We believe in gender equality. I know that’s a hard concept to wrap your little brain around” There was a chorus of ‘ooh’s and ‘ahh’s that filled the cafeteria making Connor go red in the face. He looked like a tomato. How intriguing. I tilted my head, examining his reaction. “How about you come say that over here, fag?” he growled, pointing at a spot just in front of him. I narrowed my eyes at the pathetic piece of existence that had the nerve to growl at me. I wanted to rip his head off and dangle it in front of his pathetic pack to show them who the hell is Alpha here. But I didn’t. Instead I remained calm and let the smirk return to my face. “Ah, but you see I can’t do that without causing you serious damage and I don’t want to get into trouble my first day here, so….” I trailed off, I glanced towards Kara and nodded my head towards Connor. “I’ll let Kara tell it to you again.” I smirked. Kara’s eyes lit up as she stood up, walking to where Connor was standing, swaying her hip teasingly and making subtle but flirtatious eye contact with the rest of the jocks – never focusing on one but instead giving them all the desired intensity. They licked their lips hungrily making her smirk. She came to a stop right in front of Connor. I smiled at her, she was such a tease. She ran her hand down his toned arm, letting it dangle loosely in his free hand. She bit her lip then leaned into Connor. “He said, you’re stupid…idiot” she cooed seductively. The pack simply sniggered and laughed at the human’s expressions. Everyone knew that Kara loved to tease humans. Her long sleek raven hair and her big silver eyes were too much for any human to resist. She had plump pink lips and a quaint little nose. Her curves were dangerous and formed an hour glass figure with those large breasts and wide hips but tiny waist. Yes, she was the epitome of perfection for men, except me…because she was my little sister. Connor was tongue-tied as he stared into her hypnotic eyes. He bit his lip and groaned lightly. “Just step aside, honey, I wouldn’t want you to get hurt in the crossfire and brake a nail.” She let out a little giggle, “Oh don’t worry about me…my nails grow faster than the average person” “Still, the ring is no place for a woman” he pushed. And there it was…the one thing all she-wolves hated… being considered weaker than men. Sure they were not as strong as male wolves but they were way stronger than human males. Kara brought tightened the grip on his hand. “Oh, on the contrary the ring is no place for an i***t like yourself…” she trailed off, pushing Dana off to the side with ease. Dana’s mouth fell open in outrage. She huffed and walked back to her table in a fit. Connor turned his head towards her but Kara’s hand flew up to keep his eyes trained on her. “And I’m pretty sure you just called me weak…” she growled. Suddenly, Connor was spinning in a circle in the air only to land on the cold cafeteria floor. His eyes widened in shock and pain. Groaning, he attempted to sit up but Kara’s foot came to his chest, pushing him down harshly. “It’s not over yet, asshole” she spat angrily. “Stop!” a familiar voice suddenly rang out. I saw Jaigo, whose was watching the fight intently with an excited gleam in his eye, roll his eyes. Damien came running up to where Connor was laying with his friend by his side. “Leave him alone” he demanded. My wolf jumped around inside of me in excitement as soon as he showed up. My restless wolf chanted ‘mine’ over and over in my head. Kara narrowed her eyes at him coldly; tilting her head she assessed him. “What are you going to do about it?” she spat daringly. I knew she could take him…hell she could take all of them. Like I said, we have the ferocity and primal fighting skills…we’re trained to fight lots of wolves at once and humans were nothing in comparison. However, I didn’t want her to hurt this Damien. Damien was my mate…But I knew that since the day we met. Since that evening in the woods on our land, I had to protect him - It was in my DNA, and he intrigued me. I was taking a run in wolf form, when I heard this angelic singing. It was so beautiful and sweet…almost a dream…I was drawn to it. I tried to keep quiet but my heavy paws kept making twigs snap beneath them and leaves rustle so I had to change back to my human form… which was me being naked. In any case, I liked him a lot…maybe even loved him. All I knew was that I needed him and I wanted him, so no one was going to hurt him. “Uh…uhm, nothing…I don’t fight girls… it’s wrong” he stuttered, looking confused, “I just want you to let him go. It’s enough of this rubbish.” “Ugh, another chauvinist!” Kara exclaimed disbelievingly, throwing her hands into the air. “I’m not a chauvinist! I just have manners!” he yelled back angrily. He looked hot when he was angry, I noted with a satisfied smirk. Well it makes up for him not being female…he’s an attractive male. “Enough!” I demanded authoritatively. They both looked at me questioningly but fell silent. “Kara, sit down please” “But, Knightly he—” she began to complain “Sit,” I growled. She pouted but followed my instructions, muttering profanities under her breath. “Damien, we meet again” I smiled at him. Jaigo scoffed and sat down. “Knightly, how are you?” he asked politely, sighing almost in exhaustion which made my wolf purr from within me. We definitely love how he says our name. Oh yes please… “Well and yourself?” “I’m good” he nodded. “but why do your friends keep looking for trouble with mine?” he demanded looking irritated. I raised a teasing brow and smirked at him. “On the contrary, it’s your friend on the floor over there – Connor, who keeps starting with us. I suggested he leave us alone and he refused and then insulted Kara but insinuating that she is weak…he brought this upon himself” I explained, shrugging carelessly. He sighed and glared at Connor momentarily before looking back up at us. “I’m sorry for whatever Connor did but please try to ignore him, I can’t have any more controversy on my hands at the moment” he apologized sincerely. “and Kara, I’m sorry if I insulted your strength but it’s just the way I was raised. A man should never raise a hand to a woman. It’s just the way I am” “It’s fine, I guess” she begrudgingly answered, pouting and glaring at the table. “Great! Now, will you please keep your friends from messing with us…as you have witnessed, even our girls can take you guys.” I demanded lightly. I didn’t want him to be threatened by me. “I’ll try,” he promised, glancing at Connor. He put on a bright smile as if everything was forgotten and chirped “By the way, for those who don’t know, I’m Damien Woodridge, head of student council, student body president and captain of the football team. Welcome to our town and to our school, we’re glad to have you. This is the football team….or most of it anyway. Corey, Jeff, Jason, Connor, Liam, Andrew, Adam, Ben, Graham, Bob, Grant, Leroy, Oliver, Prince, Tom, Peter, Yogi, Sam, and Ed ” he introduced them pointing at each individual. He obviously had some sort of control over these people. They respected him and did what he said. He was like an alpha…like me. All the better…I didn’t need a complete wuss as a mate I smiled and nodded along with the rest of our crew, not really interested in who they were. We didn’t exactly like them. He looked at me expectantly. I loved that look on him. It was so…erotic. It was like he was begging me to just bend him over and take him right here and right now. Oh yes, I could do that… but I’m guessing that’s not what he wanted so I stared back at him, not understanding what he wanted. I lifted a brow in question. He gave a slight nod indicating he wanted me to do the same. I rolled my eyes but complied. “I’m Knightly King. This my family…of sorts…not quite blood but mess with them and you’ll see what blood means.” I warned. Damien shot me a disapproving look. I held my hands up in surrender and rolled my eyes. “Kidding….not really…we won’t hurt you unless you beg for it. Anyway, firstly this is Jaigo, that’s Xion, Orion, Ozias,Sayer, Coltrane, Liev, Devante, Arlo,” I said introducing the guys first. “You know Kara, Rochelle, Orage, Aimar, Luna, Xandria, Kiara… There’s a guy missing…” I trailed off. Just then the Cafeteria doors burst open and Blaise stepped in exuding the usual confidence, danger and s*x appeal. Even I could admit that Blaise was way too attractive for his own good. Some people say I’m more attractive but I can’t exactly say that about myself and if there was anyone – besides Jaigo – who would come in so close to me it was Blaise. From his fiery red hair and electric blue eyes all the way to his marine-like build and huge muscles. He was about my size if not, slightly smaller, but that’s only because I was alpha. Blaise, he was my beta…but still that guy could stop traffic. “And here he is now…” I said, causing the humans to look at Blaise. He was wearing a pair of shades but I knew what was behind them would shock everyone. Blaise walked over to us, coming to stand by Damien, who was staring at him in disbelief. I chuckled slightly, even though I felt a little pang of jealousy. I remember when he looked at me like that. “Jocks, this is Blaise….” Blaise held out his hand to Damien who took it carefully. “Nice to meet you” Blaise spoke in his usual deep seductive voice. He lifted his shades and let them sit on his head, revealing those electric eyes. Damien’s eyebrows rose and he smiled back courteously. He eyed Damien in appreciation. I growled lowly. He was mine! Blaise heard it and glanced at me questioningly. I nodded confirming his suspicions. He smiled at Damien. “Blaise. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of you” “Damien” Damien answered, smiling lightly, “Welcome to Wilbrook” “Thank you.” He held his hand out to Corey who took it cautiously, mumbling his name. He shook hands with the rest of the jocks coming to a stop at Connor. He held out his hand but Connor just scoffed and looked away. Blaise looked at me questioningly, I shrugged. “Okay…” Blaise drew out. “Have we already done something to this little dude?” he asked I laughed out loud when Connor turned to Blaise with a glare. “I am not a ‘little dude’.” He seethed through clenched teeth. But in actuality, in comparison to us, he was little. He was - what 6’2? I was 6’6 and Blaize was 6’55… in short – Connor was small. “Whatever you say, little dude.” Blaise said shrugging. “So what did I miss?” he smiled. “This,” Connor said, punching Blaise in the stomach. My eyes widened as everyone else’s did. The rest of my pack stood up looking at the human threateningly, clenching their fists as they tried to fight back their wolves. Blaise looked at me and I shot him a ‘go with it’ look. He bent over slightly groaning in fake pain, before straightening and sticking out his tongue. “Haha, just kidding” he chirped sadistically. He brought his own fist up, drawing it back about to hit Connor. I wanted him to do it. Hell, I wanted to see Connor’s head to a 360 right on his neck and yet as future Alpha, I couldn’t let that happen. My dad would kick all of our asses if we got suspended on the first day. “Blaise! No…. DL remember.” I shouted in warning. “Aww, no fun” he whined, walking over. He shrugged and gave Jaigo a look. Jaigo nodded his head towards Dana. Blaise smiled. “Next time then,” he decided “until then….” He walked over to the table at which Dana was sitting and picked her up roughly, making her squeal. He smirked at Connor then at me. I shook my head, laughing. I swear everyone in my pack is such fuel to the fire… They just love testing people. I nodded at Blaise. He looked at Dana and whispered “I’m Blaise” to her before crushing his lips into hers roughly. He kissed her passionately, confusing the poor human as she moaned and writhed under him…just from kissing him. She raised a leg to his waist, making him hoist her up onto his waist, never breaking the kiss. He devoured her mouth right there in the middle of the Cafeteria. Humans looked on in shock and wolves in amusement…we were too used to this. I remember when he did that to a vampire… her mate did not find it amusing at all. It didn’t end well. I watched in amusement as Connor’s face turned red with anger. I laughed at him. “Yeah, that’s Blaise….Don’t mess with him. He’ll f**k you up and then f**k your girlfriend” I warned, still laughing. Just then, the bell rang out, making all us wolves wince at the shrill noise as it pierced our sensitive ears. Blaise even let go of Dana to wince. He set her down with a smirk and walked back to us. When it finally stopped, we gathered our things. I looked up at them with my signature smirk, my eyes giving Damien’s body one last assessment before I let them drift back to his face. “It’s been fun, jocks” I teased with a victorious smirk before walking away. When we were back in the corridor I smacked Blaise in the stomach “You’re mean” I laughed. “I know” he smiled back.
