My Unforgettable Dance

"She's waking up" a voice sounded above her head. She forced her eyes open but squinted as soon as the light came through her eyes "the lights" the same voice said and the lights were adjusted to a suitable level for her to fully open her eyes. She looked around,she realized she was in a hospital but didn't panic. She looked at the two nurses who were smiling politely at her. "water.." she whispered. Her throat was dry and sore. The nurse closest to her poured her a glass of water from the jug by the table stand and helped her sit up properly so she could drink. When she chugged down the whole glass down,she looked at both nurses and asked "where is he?" Both nurses looked confusedly at each other. Where was who? "Sorry miss,but whom are you referring to? " one of them asked politely. "Jaden....we were both in the accident...he shielded me..." she stuttered, feeling slightly dizzy and leaning back on the head boards. She remembered what happened clearly. A truck collided with Thiers and thankfully Jaden had shielded her before the broken glasses from the windshield and windows could hit her. she had sustained little injuries in just her leg and neck area which were covered with little bandages. She stared intently at both nurses when they didn't give her an answer, or was he transferred to another hospital? "uhm,was my phone brought in?" she decided to ask,maybe she could just call Jaden and go to see him wherever he was. "oh yes the police brought it in, along with your keys" the nurse checked the bed drawer and brought out a phone that had it's screen shattered and dropped the keys on the table. She tried turning the phone on but the power button was battered. "it was destroyed in the accident,sorry about it" the nurse smiled sadly. The other nurse who had been quite the whole time moved closer to her "miss,what's your name? you didnt come in with anyone and you don't seem to have a record in this hospital" she stated. "I'm Alexis" Alexis replied with a small smile and almost immediately brought out her hand "could I borrow your phone? I need to make a call" the nurses looked at each other before she reluctantly brought out her phone. Alexis took it,or more like snatched it from her before dialing a number on the dial pad "hey there,the number youre trying to call does not exist" she thought she had dialed the wrong number and tried again. This time looking closely at each number she dialled " her there,the number youre trying to call does not exist" It was the same result. But how could that be? she could never forget something so easy as his number or did she loose memory? She returned the phone quietly,deep in thought. "you really don't have anything wrong with you,you can be discharged this night. But if you do feel uncomfortable or feel sick or pain,don't hesitate to press the button beside the bed." the polite nurse said and they were about to walk out "hold on....was I the only one the ambulance brought in?" she stopped them with her question "well yes. A policeman brought your phone and keys later" "how long have I been out?" "three days" "what time is it,what day is it?" "it's the 23rd of march miss, today is Saturday" Saturday...23rd of march? today's the day she was supposed to move in with Jaden. "is there anything else?" the nurse asked "no you can go now,thank you" She dismissed them. Now her mind wasn't at rest. Where could he be?was he severely injured and was transferred to another hospital?or was he dead?! oh no she couldn't bear to think of it. Jaden,her first ever lover, dead? no. She looked at the keys at the on the bedside table,both her car keys and the keys to her apartment. They had both been heading back to her apartment with his car so they could pack her remaining stuff and she could move in completely. Then all of a sudden they both heard a loud screech and before she could figure out what was going on,Jaden had thrown his arms around her and held her so tightly before the collision. She could feel the truck collide with their car as they were thrown backwards but Jaden still held her tight. The loud crashes and nasty screeching from the tires seeped into her ears as she tried to break free from Jaden's hold. The last thing she heard was a man's voice saying "it's been done" before she fell unconscious. She could only hope Jaden was alright,maybe he was okay and just resting in his apartment or maybe he had gone to work since it was a Saturday. With that in mind, she let herself relax and fell into a deep slumber. ********************************************** Alexis took a taxi home from the hospital after she was discharged. Though she knew most of her things were at Jaden's place but she decided to make a quick stop to check on some things. Opening the door,she paused. The furniture she had sold out were still in their place. But she had sold them to different people in preparation to move out,how come they were back at her apartment? Confused she walked into the kitchen. She opened the utensils compartment, everything was intact. That was also strange. She had donated those things to an orphanage nearby,even the remaining food stuff in the fridge and store room. She hurried to the fridge,and it was filled to the edge. She didn't even have this much when she donated the rest. How could this be? she walked into the storage compartment and it was also filled up,like nothing ever left. Now something really felt off. First no sign off Jaden then her stuff returning back to her house,what was going on? She went into the bedroom. The only thing she remembered leaving in the room before the accident was her bed and her wardrobe. She had moved any other thing to Jaden's house or given them out. But to her surprise, everything was intact. Her plushie, her vanity,her bedside table,and all other stuff like they were never moved. She went ahead to look into her wardrobe. Her clothes were in,but she had moved all of them to Jaden's place...... what could be going on, was Jaden alright or, was he .... breaking up with her? No...they had both been in good terms before the accident. No arguments no fights, everything was perfect. But why did he return everything? but something was missing. There used to be a bedside photo of him and her on the table,she did take it to Jaden's house tho but it wasn't there. It wasn't among the things that was returned back to her. She looked into the wardrobe again frantically search for any of his clothes he regularly wore whenever he spent the night at her place. She found none. Without thinking she hurried into the bathroom and took a really quick shower. Even all her toiletries were available. Without much thought she quickly had her bath and got out. She dressed up quickly and casually, took her keys, and her battered phone,locked her door and headed to her car. Once she was in she started the engine and drove to Jaden's house. On the way she stopped by a phone repair store and dropped the phone with the phone repairer and said she'd come to pick it up later or the next day. Then she left straight for Jason's house. Getting to his apartment,she parked her car at the parking lot and looked around for his car but she couldn't find it. But she went up anyways,maybe his car was at the mechanic since it was involved in the accident. She hurried to the elevator and stood impatiently. Seemed like the elevator was more slow than usual. Finally she heard it ring and stepped out and headed to Jaden's door. She knocked and waited for a response. She was about to knock again but the door suddenly opened,but it wasn't Jaden. It was someone she had never seen before. "how many I help you?" the man in front of her asked,looking at her politely. Alexis looked at him carefully,she tried to look behind him into the house but he was blocking her view. "I'm sorry, but are you looking for someone?" the man asked when he saw her trying to look inside the apartment "where's Jaden?" she asked. The man thought she was rude with the way she asked him with no form of greeting. " who's Jaden? and who are you" he asked back. Now Alexis was visibly irritated. "what do you mean who's Jaden?,this is his apartment" she stated and looked at the other doors just to be sure she didn't knock on the wrong one. Sure enough,she was standing right in front of Jaden's door but there was a stranger who didn't know where he is. "I moved in here two days days ago,the landlord of this building rented it out to me. I don't know who you're talking about".
