I wake up to my stomach feeling harder than ever. “Mom?” I call out, carefully moving down the steps. “Yeah honey?” She asks, looking up from whatever she’s making. I think maybe it’s pancakes. “My stomach has been so hard since last night and now it’s getting uncomfortable.” I tell her. Saying it out loud makes me feel like everything is way more real and it scares me a bit.
