The first two days with Shiloh are kind of bittersweet. I love having her in my life and she’s so precious, but having a baby isn’t quite like I expected it. I knew it’d be tough, but she wakes up all the time, I’m still sore from giving birth, and she’s literally draining all of my energy. I love her though, so she’s worth it. The doorbell rings and I cradle Shi in my arms as I walk to the door. Phoebe, Cassie, Jenna, and Waldo are all standing in front of me with balloons, gifts, and a variety of other items in their hands. They’re also wearing huge smiles as they take in the sight of me and my daughter. “Aw Elle, she’s lovely.” Phoebe says, taking the first step towards me to drop her things and steal my baby. I laugh and let her have Shiloh, relieved for a few minutes of rest.
