Present time…
Third person POV
"Wake up, Abi! You're going to be late for work and you're making me late for my presentation!" Aaron exclaimed while pulling on the comforter. "I cannot believe you! You are literally a worm for rolling the comforter all around you!" Abigail snorted and unwrapped the comforter around her. She sticks her tongue out at Aaron as she trudges to the bathroom. "If you are so cold, why on earth do you not wear a pants when you sleep? Put on some clothes and have some decency around me, will you?" Aaron sighed. "You know Kay doesn't mind that you will be late for the presentation, don't you? He still owes me a lot of favours." Abigail said as she brushed her teeth. "I don't care. That is between you and him. He is still my boss at the café, and I'm not keen on being late at all. Punctuality is respect, don't you know that?" Aaron replied. After finishing her morning business, Abigail walks out from the bathroom to see that her bed has been made and her clothes for the day were strewn out on her bed, including undergarments.
Chuckling to herself on how Aaron takes it on himself to make sure that he half mothers her since young, Abigail shakes her head and goes on to change into her red hooded sweater with a black Uniqlo Heat tech shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans. She pulls her shoulder-length auburn hair into a ponytail. Her necklace, a blue shaped crescent moon with a diamond teardrop, seemed to glow as Abigail softly held onto it, reminiscing the past of how it landed in her possession. She studied her face, which had a look of melancholy, before deciding to put on some mascara to bring out the green in her eyes and applying lip gloss before heading downstairs to get her breakfast.
"So, where will you be heading today?" Aaron asks as he munches on his pancakes. Watching her 19-year-old brother's flawless face with warm blue eyes framed by his shoulder-length mane as dark as midnight, Abigail would wonder if he were indeed her birth brother, if not for the same birthmark that they both bear on each side of the hip. Both Abigail and Aaron wear a birthmark shaped like a spider lily, Abigail's on the right side and Aaron on the left side of the hip. The flower's stem shows if Abigail decides to wear shorts, which she will only don when she is at home. "I hadn't decided on a place to go today. I'm not sure if I'll be heading anywhere this week itself. Maybe I'll come by Kay's place for some idea before I go off." She replied after taking a sip of her coffee. Raising an eyebrow, Aaron stood to clear off his plates. "Just remember not to mess up my presentation if you decide to stay to watch." She flipped him off and stood up to clear off her dishes as well.
As they walk towards Abigail's car on the driveway, Aaron frowns and turns around to check his surrounding as if expecting something to happen. A loud voice suddenly rang out of nowhere, calling Aaron's name dearly. "Aaaarroooonnn! Wait for me!" A pair of hands wrapped around Aarons' neck from behind as someone jumped on him. Shaking her head, Abigail walks off from the scene. "YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS! Lucky! Get off me! I'm going to be late if you keep this up!" Aaron complained while trying to wrestle Lucky Zacarias off his back. The blonde-haired girl giggled as she hopped off his back and ran into Abigail's car. Her green eyes twinkle with mischief as she is determined to follow them to Kay's Café. "I'm going with you to give you support! Right, Abigail?" Sighing, Abigail calmly replies, "Whatever you both do, don't break my car." "I promise I'll behave!" Lucky exclaimed while crossing her fingers in front of her chest. Aaron rolls his eyes and gives an exasperated sigh loudly before he turns on the music for the drive, hoping that the sound will drown out whatever Lucky plan to talk about for the entire drive.

Abigail's POV
"Kay, stop scaring the poor girl's mind for life with your creepy flirting," I said as I walked into Kay's Café together with my brother and Lucky. The 6 ft 4-inch tanned male with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes that own a muscular body that I often think is filled with unreleased testosterone turned around and smirked at me. Gross, I'll never understand why girls always fall for his typical American boy looks. "Abi, how nice to see you again. I was just guiding the lovely maiden to her destiny so that she does not stray from her path. How is my favourite story coming up?" He came up to us, gave me a peck to my cheek as a greeting, and went behind to do the same to Lucky. I decided to keep quiet before replying to him, not wanting to answer his question. A creative genius like Kay will never understand writer's block. "Hey Kay, I'll be going ahead to the back to set the whole thing up and run some quick trials before the presentation. See you later, sis and Lucky, behave yourself. Don't give trouble to Kay and Abi, you hear me?" Aaron said while walking off to the office situated upstairs of the café.
Lucky just smiled and waved him off before she started pestering Kay. "Kay, Kay! I've seen the brand new Miguela heels that is displayed at J&R Mall! It's the most perfect pair of heels I've ever seen!" Aside from owning the café, Kay is also the partner designer for the famous Miguela shoe brand. Countless celebrities and even politician seeks out Kay and his partner, Miguela, to design new shoes for any occasion. "I have never been prouder of my own work, Lucky. But you know what, for some reason, when I work on the design, I feel as if it's missing a real piece. Something that will complete that pair of gorgeous heels." Kay remarked, placing his hand on his chin.
I smiled softly as I went behind the counter to make my own cup of Americano. Kay’s Café has been part of our lives for as long as I can remember. Kay took us, siblings, in when we chanced upon each other. Till today, I do not know anything about Kay, except that he’s a famous designer and the owner of Kay’s Café, which he opened for the sake of Aaron and me. There are times when I do not see Kay for two weeks or so, which I assume that he was gone for his designer business. When my coffee was made, it was then I heard the wind chime on the door tinkling, and a strong scent took hold of my focus, shaking me to my core.
