Chapter Twenty-Six
After phoning the restaurant and getting no answer, Chap finally found Sally at her home. She had decided to use the inconvenience of the previous night as an excuse to carry out extensive renovations she considered long overdue but had never seemed to get around to commencing. The restaurant would remain closed for at least three weeks, she informed Chap.
She surprised him when she mentioned François had made her an offer to buy the restaurant. He first asked after her husband was killed, thinking that to continue may hold too many sad memories for her. Sally was not ready to sell back then; this was a business she and her husband had started together and built from the ground up. She felt she owed it to his memory to continue running it on her own.
