Skye's pov
Nothing has been well for me since I came back from visiting Gloria the demon.
If anything my life has gotten worst.
I feel tired all the time and I am spending the last bit of my life crying and wishing for revenge.
I get up from my bed and I sit on the side of it as I massage my back and try my best to ignore the pain.
Ever since that day, the sky has nothing but clouds.
I walk over to the window in my room and watch as the rainfall down at a fast pace.
Feeling annoyed by the sensation of sadness that I'm feeling I close the blinds and try to ignore the sound of water that's coming from outside.
"Are you feeling any better?" Henry asks as he enters the room with a pizza box in his hand.
"What's this?" I ask as I walk towards my bed and sit down. "Some sort of bribe?" he hands me the box and I open it.
"Just a small token of appreciation," he says as he sits behind the pizza box. "Why don't you go and visit your brother? It might be fun."
I stare at the pepperoni pizza and chuckle at his intentions.
"I'm not going to die."
"But," he says as he looks at my eyes.
"She said that there's still a way to solve this on my own without magic." I grab a slice of pizza and watch as the cheese stretches. "I'm sure that ben will be alright for now. His wolf doesn't want to shift as badly as mine so he has time to calmly figure it out."
"Skye I..."
"Stop! Please. Could you stop with your useless pity?" I drop the slice back into the box and stare at Henry. "What good will it do for you to show me that you feel bad for me if it won't help me in any way?"
He stares at me for a while before saying "you're right... But I still want you to visit ben." he gets up and walks towards the door.
As soon as he leaves I release a long sigh.
This whole situation has been stressing me out more than anything.
I turn to look at my cabinet on the side of my bed and I grab the books that Gloria gave me.
I have already read the spells book and found no other way of breaking the spell besides the traditional and currently impossible way.
So far I have been staying away from the diary because I'm afraid of what I'll find. I stare at the cover and frown.
I open the notebook and I immediately recognize the handwriting.
June 15
Skye and Benjamin are their names. I decided to keep their first names in case I ever feel guilty and decide to come out with the truth about them.
It's not an everyday thing when someone receives a large amount of money along with two kids.
Ben is the cute kid out of the both of them. He's cute a gullible, unlike his sister.
She is just beyond normal. She's always looking at me with those haunting eyes. I can't help but want to make fun of her. Knowing that such a powerful creature depends on me for it to survive gives me a very satisfying feeling.
I'm finally the powerful one. The one who seems like a god in front of someone and I'm not about to let that go.
Just about a week ago I took them to that old hag in the mountains to seal up their wolves and ever since then it has been peaceful in my house again.
I no longer dream of those two wolves threatening mine.
They have forever disappeared.
July 30
Today I saw that old hag again by mere coincidence. She saw the kids with celeste and immediately recognized them.
She stopped me to tell me that if I ever felt regret for what I had done then to tell them to use their mate bond in order for them to heal.
Who the hell is she to tell me that someday I'll regret it!
I'll make sure she understands that my decision was the best for all of us. Especially for the children.
Once I grow tired of reading the diary I set it down on my bed and I begin to eat the pizza.
'use the mate bond...' i think to myself as I repeat the words from the diary.
Ben's pov
It has been around a month and a half since I last saw Skye and I have begun to notice that I don't feel her feelings anymore like I used to before.
I don't really understand it but it's as if we have finally been set free from the confusion that we had in between each other.
Recently I have been feeling lighter as if a gigantic amount of pressure has been lifted from my back.
"How is it that I can also feel the bond when I'm human?" Scarlett asks me as she lays down beside me in my bed.
"I don't know," I say as I continue to look at her. her long black curly hair covers her like a blanket as she lays there with her eyes on me. "but I'm glad that you can."
she smiles as she reaches to touch my face with her hand.
I put my hand over hers and then I slowly pull it towards my lips and I kiss it and I close my eyes.
I open my eyes in order to continue to admire her beauty but when I open my eyes I see Skye.
her violet eyes stare at me judgingly as she stares at me in silence.
she breaks the silence first "Ben" she whispers as she puts her hand on my cheek "the darkness is taking over me, but it's not your fault." she says as she pulls her hand away and smiles. "Ben, don't let it take you too."
the moment she says that line her eyes hold no emotion and her expression becomes cold.
she slowly turns to look at the ceiling and I begin to hear the loud sound of concrete breaking. I turn to look at the ceiling along with her and I quickly become frightened when I see the wall begin to get covered with darkness.
the darkness begins to make disturbing figures with eyes and the concrete begins to crack as blood begins to flood down and rain upon us.
I twitch at the hot sensation of blood pouring down on my cheek from the ceiling. 'blood is warm if it's fresh.'
I turn to look at Skye who is intently staring at the ceiling as she sneers at something above us and my body turns cold. 'I don't recognize her.'
Her facial expression has never looked at me or at anyone like that, with pure evil as she allows the darkest of feelings to take over her.
She turns to look at me as if she suddenly snapped out of her trance and she sighs while she looks down at me with an annoyed expression. "you need to wake up."
"what?"
she laughs as her skin begins to turn black, "suit yourself then."
"Ben!" Scarlett screams and everything disappears, including Skye. "are you alright?"
I look up at the wall expecting to see it crumbling but there is nothing there. "yeah" I say getting up from my bed. "I don't know what just happened there, sorry."
"are you sure you're alright?" Scarlett asks as she sits up. "you're pale."
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Dean's pov
"We need to figure out what your wolf is protecting." the witch says as she sits on a chair next to my bed.
"and what exactly are we going to do?" I ask annoyed.
"We are going to visit your wolf," she says as she pulls out a couple of bottles with paint.
"what's that for?" I ask confused.
"We need to paint your body in marks of the color of your wolf, every spirit has a color. we need to paint you with the most colors that I can since I don't know the color of your spirit. in case one color doesn't work, another one will," she says as she begins to draw lines on my skin with the paint.
I look at the ceiling and try to forget about the amount of anger that I'm feeling right now towards Cleo for making me do this.
'I could be sleeping right now.'
"alright close your eyes." the witch says as she puts a hand over my eyes and I close them.
I begin to hear the sound of wind blowing and the sound of trees moving, the fresh smell of wet dirt surrounds me. when I open my eyes I see a woman with a colorful dress and with colorful marks on her body.
"it's me," she says and I immediately recognize her voice.
"the witch? but you are so young."
"This is the way that my spirit looks. a person's spirit stops aging at a certain age, mine just happens to have stopped in my early twenties," she says as she looks around us. "I need you to take us to your wolf."
"how do I do that?" I ask bewildered. "I don't know where he is."
"he is you, of course, you know where he is, just think," she says as she puts her hands on her hips.
I try to relax as I close my eyes and open them again when I hear the sound of growling coming from behind me.
"well that was easy." she says as she walks around me and towards a dark brown wolf as he growls at us. "tell him to let go of whatever he's protecting, ensure him that we will keep it safe."
I look at the wolf and begin to think to myself about the words that I'll tell him before I say them but he begins to whine.
'he heard me?'
I stare at him shocked but proceed to ensure him in my mind that whatever he's protecting will be safe and he slowly moves away as he takes one last look behind him.
"Woah, what a nice coat she has." the witch says as we both see a wolf with midnight blue fur come out from the trees. "I can see why your wolf is protecting her to the point that he is willing to die for her."
the wolf just stares at me with its dark violet eyes as she ignores the presence of the witch.
"call up your owner." the witch says as she looks down on the female wolf in front of her.
the wolf growls at her for about a second before we hear a twig snap coming from inside of the trees. the wolf turns to look in that direction and then slowly walks away before growling at the witch one last time.
the figure of a girl with a black dress appears as she comes out of the forest. she moves towards us slowly with her head held up high. her hair shines a midnight blue and her eyes are the same violet as her wolf's.
she looks at the witch confused and then turns to look at me and her eyes fill up with concern.
"Skye?" I say as I realize who she is.
Although her appearance is different I can still recognize her facial structure.
"What are you doing here?" she asks perplexed. "you shouldn't be here," she says as she looks around.
"what is trying to take you?" asks the witch interrupting us.
Skye looks at her confused "what?"
"This kid's wolf is dying because it was trying to protect you from something. now tell me child what was that wolf fighting?" The witch asks with a louder voice.
Skye looks around as she looks back at me "what? no, it can't be."
"what can't be?" the witch asks getting irritated.
she stops as she looks around her as if she heard something from a distance that even I can't hear. "you need to get out of here!" Skye shouts as she takes a couple of steps back. "it's coming."
"what is-" the witch shouts as she gets interrupted in the middle of her sentence by the image of chains wrapping themselves on Skye. "oh my god!"
"Skye!" I yell as I begin to run towards her but the witch pulls me back.
"don't get close to it or it will consume you as well!" the witch screams in my ear as we both see the chains turn black.
"what is it?" I ask as I look at it drag Skye away as she screams from the top of her lungs.
once Skye is gone I pull away from the witch "what the hell was that?!"
the witch looks at me with a dark expression as she says "It's not a thing, It's something that even I can't fully comprehend. it was an evil creature that in the past went by many names but the name that has fully followed it up to this day is... Death."
