“That woman… she’s just your rebound, right, Ethan? I don’t believe you would marry someone else so soon after leaving me!” Claire growled, determined to take Ethan back—no matter who stood in her way.
Brandon suddenly appeared before Claire, watching her frustration after discovering her ex-boyfriend was far better than the man she chose.
The man refused to let her go—especially after Claire benefited from him: the apartment, luxury goods, and large amounts of money.
“You regret it, don’t you, Claire? But remember—you will never get him back. He’s married. I saw it myself. And you? You belong to me. Don’t even think about running,” Brandon sneered, making Claire clench her jaw in anger. But she couldn’t fight him—she still needed Brandon, until she found a way back to Ethan.
“I know! I’m just upset. He played with me!” Claire snapped.

At Adamson Corporation.
“Brandon?” Ethan asked his secretary after instructing Arthur to investigate the man seen with Claire.
“Yes. He works as a manager at one of your branch companies,” Arthur explained.
Ethan smirked. The man Claire was proud of was nowhere near the definition of a successful or wealthy man. Just a manager in a small division—someone he could crush anytime he wanted.
“Are you going to fire him?” Arthur asked.
“No. What for? Unless he interferes with my life—or my wife’s. But judging by how shocked he looked when he found out I was his boss, I assume he already has a plan… maybe preparing to resign?” Ethan replied, and Arthur could only give a thin smile.
Ethan clearly remembered the look Brandon gave him outside the church—angry, resentful, and humiliated. Before that, Brandon and Claire mocked him—calling him poor and useless.
“And now… who’s the useless one? Certainly not me,” Ethan growled—anger and disappointment still lingering. “Make sure they don’t cause any trouble. Protect my wife, Arthur. I’m worried Claire might try something. Even though Seraphine’s identity isn’t public yet, Brandon knows who she is. Don’t let them get near her.”
Arthur nodded. He knew exactly what needed to be done—protect Seraphine from any threat.

Meanwhile, Seraphine was at the café where she worked. Ethan, Teresa, and even George refused to let her continue working. Despite Seraphine giving many excuses, the answer never changed. She now had a black card and every luxury she could imagine as the CEO’s wife.
Seraphine finally accepted everything—but only under one condition: her identity must not be revealed to the media. She wasn’t ready to become the center of attention.
She had already submitted her resignation letter and was now saying goodbye to the people close to her at the café. She felt happy—but also sad—to leave.
Seraphine slowly walked toward the exit, but stopped when a familiar voice called out to her.
Margaret…
“Seraphine!”
“How dare you, Sera! You married a rich man and then threw away your mother and sister! You ungrateful, heartless child!” Margaret shouted loudly, her voice echoing through the café as people began turning toward them.
“Look at her! She’s my daughter—yet she refuses to acknowledge me! She’s ashamed of her own mother because I’m poor!” Margaret cried dramatically.
The café erupted in whispers as Margaret continued exposing Seraphine, making it seem unbelievable that a daughter could be so cruel to her own mother.
Margaret smirked as Seraphine stared at her sharply.
“Hey, miss—what kind of man did you marry that you would abandon your own mother and refuse to acknowledge her?!” one of the customers demanded.
Seraphine clenched her jaw, refusing to reveal who her husband was. But Margaret was different—her mother intentionally wanted to ruin her and Ethan’s reputation.
Seraphine wouldn’t allow that.
“You see? You’ll never escape from me, Seraphine,” Margaret hissed with a wicked smirk.
“Why are you still bothering me? Can’t I just live happily?” Seraphine whispered through clenched teeth.
“Your life belongs to me. You must share everything you have—with us,” Margaret replied coldly. Then she turned to the café customers.
“Do you know who my daughter married? A wealthy man so powerful that she is ashamed to acknowledge us!”
“He is—”
“ENOUGH. Please—just stop!” Seraphine snapped.
